Black friday buddies 2010 unite! BACK FROM THE TRENCHES POST YOUR WAR STORIES!

I've always said that someone could make a few bucks selling doughnuts and coffee to all us standing in line .:cool2:

I've added a dvd/vhs combo to my list. I'm adding this to a portable dvd player and a decent digital camera.

I have an OT question for all you BF early risers.

My DS's Boy Scout Troop is thinking of doing a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser at a branch of a chain restaurant that is in a mall area with a Kohls, Old Navy and other stores that typically open early on BF.
My question is after getting up way early and doing all of you shopping, if you saw some Boy Scouts with signs for the breakfast, would you head over?

Thanks

I think it is a great idea and I would definitely go if there was something like that around my mall. It might be a good idea to have the boys hand out flyers to the people in line. I know that is early, so maybe an adult could do it for them. Good luck!

Well I'm out to shop I wouldn't want to waste time at a breakfast but I would buy a grab and go item along with coffee!!

I agree. I'm there to shop! Also, after all the eating most of us do on Thanksgiving, I would hardly be in the mood for pancakes. Coffee/tea, juice, water and a quick snack like a muffin, donut or bagel would be a better bet imo.

I need 2 Nintendo DSi and a large battery-powered ride-on car. I will also be looking for Legos and cheap movies for stocking stuffers. I need to remember to stick to this list, because otherwise I buy stuff the kids don't need and it turns out to be JUNK.

:sad2: this will be the first year i will not be out shoping with yall ...

i will be at work at Kmart at 5am:scared1:

i hope everyone finds what they need and say safe during the shoping

Im so looking forward to a nice and semi relaxing Black Friday this year.. For the most part our kids are getting giftcards, which Ive already started getting..

Ive already started Christmas shopping for the grandbabies, which Im scaling way back on this year.. Ive been checking the clearance aisles when I go to the store.. and if I see something I think they will like I grab it.. I dont have any specific things Im wanting to get them this year..

Im planning on maybe Walmart for a few toys and then over to Bath and Bodyworks this year and that may be it.. I dont have any big ticket items this year that I want..

Im really looking forward to staying away from the hecticness of it all this year.. I may even just shop online for Walmart and then run to B&BW..

I'm going but probably for clothes for the girls Oldnavy I spent 200.00 and got the girls a ton of stuff last year. Also The Children's place. I should be done toy shopping in October. My girls want the usally LPS stuff and ponyville meramid things and the new frenzie stuff my mom bought them most of the frenzie stuff. I only had to buy one dog and the carring case for each of them. Also each a leapster game or 2. No big ticket items this year.

Wow I wish I could go back to LPS...LOL My kids (10 & 6 3/4(lol)) are asking for ipods, flat screen TV's. So basically I am on a hunt for a 22" flat screen for their room and ipod touches or nanos. Plus we are doing WDW beginning of Dec! I got all the little things they wanted, some DS games, nail polish, silly bandz, etc

CAN'T WAIT FOR BF ADS!!!

I think this will be my 1st BF shopping quest!!!! I think it would be kinda fun!!! I am looking for...

For DD
GIRL Legos
DS Games
Wii Games
PJs
Portable DVD Player

For DH
Xbox 360
or
Spoting Scope

For Me
Pjs
Digital Photo Frame

I will be on the hunt for a portable DVD player.
We'll see what the ads bring.
We need a new christmas tree too.

Later in the day I'll do the clothes shopping and some craft supply shopping.

As for the boyscouts selling food.
I wouldn't stop for a pancake breakfast as my time is usually spent in line or on a mission. I would however buy a muffin or bagel while waiting in line. The kids could probably make some decent money selling coffee, hot chocolate, and some food items.
I usually pack protein bars and keep a bottle of iced tea in the car. When all the power shopping is done I go and get breakfast for the family and take it back to the hotel (we are from Canada and drive down south a couple of hours for BF....wouldn't miss it for the world).

My boys are hoping for ipads. Not sure that's doable this year. Hope Blackfriday has a REAL good sale. ;)

Already? OK, I'm in! I'll be searching for a deal on a Dsi. And Legos. Not sure about anything else.

Just a tip .... if you subscribe to Borders, they send you and email about once or twice a week for a 33 to 40% off coupon. The now have started to sell toys ( and Legos). I have slowly been picking up a few sets since my son loves them and I can never find them on sale.

Toys R Us usually has Legos buy 2 get 1 around October. Along with board games too! :)

Bearshouse

I'm in! I love black friday shopping... especially when it's payday too!

I'm looking for a new laptop and thinking of going to an Macbook Pro, so I'll be on the look out for any Apple deals.

Ok now I need to add Monster High dolls to my list. She has decided they are just sooo cool and she loves them URGH!!
With the selling of food. I have no time to stop to even grab food. After my early AM shopping I head home to finish up my shopping online. Now if you can have someone selling coffee/muffins in line while we are waiting that would be awesome.
And I hope Walmart changes its policy this year with BF. Last year it was horrible with only being able to get one big ticket item (if you came alone) and not being able to grab the rest of the items on sale. If Im there at 11PM I should be able to get tickets for all the big items I want to buy and should be able to pick up all the other items that I want on my way back to purchase my high ticket items. Last year it was just a big mess with them allowing folks who showed up 7 hours after us to get the smaller items and make it where we couldnt get anything until we were totally out of line. So unfair...ok there I feel better now that I vented :)

Can I join this year? We're looking for a new digital camera, an iTouch, an iPad, and some new cell phones. I need a good sale!!!
