Black friday buddies 2010 unite! BACK FROM THE TRENCHES POST YOUR WAR STORIES!

I go out with DD5 every year. Twice we have watched the sun come up while we are in line at Shopko!

I've never done the on-line Black Friday sales. Can someone tell me a little more about them, like which stores have them, do they start at midnight or 5 a.m., etc. And how do I watch for them? Do I subscribe to the store's website or is it printed in their Black Friday ad that comes out on Thanksgiving, etc, etc.

Thanks!!

my best tip would be for Amazon. They offer a free 30 day trial of 'super saver shipping' (free express shipping with no minimum purchase).
Set up a new account, and on, say November 15 sign up for the free trial. On Dec 10, decide you don't want it. Wait 11 months, repeat.

Black Friday is my favorite holiday!!! My cousin insist that we get to walmart no later than 3 am. I haven't ever bought anything I couldn't live without but I am a BF junkie!!! Plus this will be the first year to shop for a little one.:goodvibes

My son and I normally get to best buy every year around 11:00 am ON thanksgiving morning and pitch a tent till they open Friday. Needless to say we are generally the first in line.
It is something I like to do and its "our time", he is 18 and I dont get much 1 on 1 with him these days :(
This year I am not sure if we will be doing this as its the first time no Christmas bonus will be heading our way (hubby is now on disability).
I will miss that long camp out this year if we dont go :(

WISH: cricut expression for $180 - ish or better!!!

Ditto! Last year at Walmart I had the red expression in my hands, but I put it back (and a good thing I did, DH last his job a couple of weeks later). I would like to go for one again, but the flash on our camera has now bit the dust and I will more than likely be using my Cricut money for a camera.

I have yet to go shopping in the middle of the night. However, I always get the black friday deals that I want anyway. Like last year Walmart had that Barbie car listed for their black friday special. Well they also wound up selling it online during their Cyber Monday sale for the same price and with bing, I received 15% cashback! I don't know how anyone would want to lose sleep, camp out, and deal with psychotic crowds when they can still get the deals if they were more like the turtle instead of the hare.

ewwwww...this is for me....im not a crazy shopper...i dont do the tent thing... but usually about 400am im in line..got a baby this yr after 12 long yrs of not looking at toys.. i'll be looking at the big tix toys..this yr... i hate when i get the black fri ads w/no pix... i nd the pix... :happytv:

My local Dunkin Donuts has 2 Lbs of coffee for $12 right now. That is close to what it was last Black Friday (4Lbs for $22).

For those of you searching for Legos, another site is reporting that Walmart has the Lego Toy Story-Build A Zurg on sale for 15.00. Down from from 24.99. They are out of stock online but may be available in store.

Here's the Link

Another tip for finding discount legos, look at museum gift shops and stores. Our local museum carries all sorts of legos, even toy story ones and the offer members a discount in their store. The also offer more generous discounts on Black Friday.

Does anyone happen to know if the Pandora store does a Black Friday sale? We just got a store in my town and my mom and sister both have bracelets.

I'm in looking for DSi games, flat screen tv ( a got a great deal online around 3AM from Walmart last Black Fri) - not sure what else at this point.

Regarding the tv did you pick it up from the store at a later date?

no, it was delivered to our house - I wish I'd gotten 2 of them.
Emerson 32" flat screen - $248 and shipping was .97 cents!
I thought it was a good deal.

pulled from another site:

And so it begins: Half Price Books Black Friday sale.
It's not a big one, but Half Price Books has the first BF ad of the season:

Wow that was a good deal. :thumbsup2 I;'m such a worry wart I would be too afraid something would happen to the tv during shipping. Did you have the option of getting it sent to the store?
