Are you looking at last year's ads? Walmart never puts their ad up this early. I don't see any ads up yet for this year.

Those are 2009 ads. Half-Price books is the first and only posted for this year so far. It was just posted today.

Good luck! And if you don't find them there, check TRU and Staples. They are both clearancing their's but I'm not quite sure of the prices at those two but its worth a check.

I think this will be a bigger than normal black friday for us this year. Instead of exchanging presents this year, DH and I want to get a flat screen tv for the room and we want to get his parents a GPS. I also got some great deals on toys last year so I want to get some good deals on things for younger DD (pretty much done with older one) and for nieces and nephews.

When do the Target and Sears ads come out? I don't know if I will have the strength for Best Buy, but I have always had pretty good luck with Target so if it is just a slightly higher price I will probably go there.

Last year was my first serious year at BF shopping. I got up early (for me!) with my attack plan, oops, I mean list, written down. I made sure to purchase a bunch of the special super duper deals (toys, games, movies, etc) that I found ... even if they weren't on my list for immediate family.

Over the past 10 months, I've given out those deals as birthday presents, awards, donations to children's charities, etc. It was nice knowing that I got a great deal and was already prepared for all those requests through-out the year.

So this year I think I'll do the Midnight shopping. What store typically start their BF sales around midnight? I think TRUs ... anyone else?

I am so hoping for a great deal on a PS3 this year. That is what DS11 wants, and he knows that will be the only thing he is getting. He is SUPER excited!

Here's what you do:

Preview as many of the ads as possible online, including the listings here, and map out a strategy according to which items you want the most, what time the stores open and whether or not you think you have a chance of getting them at that price.

Grab extra copies of the paper, for the ads. Take your ads with you shopping and try to price match, walmart will usually for identical items.

Two people in the more congested stores works better if you require a cart, one to grab the items one to man the cart close to or in the check out line.

Beware of stores you might actually get trapped in, usually toys r us is like this.
