Good morning, losers!
A big
to Julianna07 and another big
to Princess CKL. Sounds like you have already PM'd your weigh in to LuvBaloo. Your first weighins will be on Friday, 6/19. Peggy Jo lots of room here for you too if you would like to officially join us.
Saturday QOTD: What is your favorite healthy OP meal to eat out?
I haven't been eating out since starting WW. I know Applebee's has the WW meals and I will try those since I am sure the oriental chicken salad I like is probably a point buster! I did use the pasta cheat sheet on the WW site to calculate a heathly pasta dinner and it worked out well. I just had to keep saying "no bread, please" about a dozen times!
Sunday QOTD: What is your favorite cooking item that you use to cook or make healthy meals. What is a cooking item you are wanting?
My favorite cooking item would be fresh herbs from my herb pot in my backyard. I have chives and basil right now. I hope to add some thyme and sage soon. It is fun to just walk out and chop a little of what you need and you can't beat the fresh flavor. If you would talking about utensils or something, then it would be the crockpot. I love that thing but need to learn some healthier options.
I found some tahini, MelanieC, so will be making your hummus soon.
I like sparkpeople, too, and I have to do things in small goals or it is just too overwhelming. I just passed a lot of my initial goals, 1st 5 and 10 pounds, five percent, double digits to final goal, and am so close to 15 pounds and 10%, that I should be there in no time. It really helps to have smaller, realistic goals.
Pamela, nice job on the dress. I am sure that you will look beautiful!
Kathy, sounds like graduation was fun and your Mom enjoyed herself. I am glad that you are remembering to take care of Kathy while you take care of everyone else!
Sounds like we could all use a little heading in the right direction and forgiving ourselves for our mistakes. Here is a quote from Sparkpeople that might be helpful to some of us now:
Remembering the good times and learning from the bad.Memory can be used for good or for evil. If you use your past as a source of learning, it's worth remembering. If, however, all you do is mull over your mistakes and punish yourself for your failures, it's a waste of time. Rehashing failure can paralyze you in mortal fear of making another mistake, which, of course, just makes the feeling worse and practically guarantees future letdowns. The key to making meaningful changes is to pay more attention to the future than to the past. Have you ever noticed that the best athletes also have the shortest and most selective memories? Instead of dwelling on a missed shot or a flawed dive, they concentrate on making corrections and getting the next one right. It's as if the failed attempt never happened. It's forgotten and they don't fear trying again. If you mess up, even in an epic, life-altering way, work hard to leave it behind and concentrate on the possibilities yet to come. Tomorrow is much brighter when it's not smeared with a fixation on yesterday.
So for those of us who strayed from our good heathy habits this week, forgive yourself, learn from your mistake, and spend that energy looking forward instead of kicking yourself for being human.
Have a great, OP day!

This looks like a very motivating group and I would love to join up. I have been struggling for so long and can't take it anymore. I am a Weight Watcher but struggle daily with tracking and eating within my points. I've been with WW for 2 years and have lost 30 pounds but I have a WAYS to go to my goal weight. For now I am shooting for 10% at a time. I'll PM my current WW weight from Sat (which is my usual weigh in day).
I was reading some past posts about sparkpeople and I also signed up this evening as well. Here's to getting rid of the next 10%!
