QOTD- BL- even though I think its a joke, no one in reality can work out 6 hours a day and eat such a small amount of food that they do without falling over! LOL

Really thats it for reality TV for us!

I called the doctor and she would not see me. Just told me to take some Mucinex. As long as it works, I'm okay with. I'm just sick of feeling sick.

I had WI today and maintained, which is better than a loss. I'm hoping for a loss next week because I have the travelling journal from my meeting and that is always a big motivation because you know that other people are going to be reading your journal. You can also see what others have done and get some great ideas.

Terrie,

I was concerned that I did not hear from you in a while. Thanks for checking in.

Can you report your weight to me via email? My email is brenda@kbelectric.biz. I hope to hear from you on Friday.

Sorry gang, still crunching numbers. I am going to watch BL and finish up in the morning. Our numbers are still dwindling. We only had 8 Blue weigh in this week. I miss all my peeps. At least every team has a net LOSS this week.

Have a healthy day!

QOTD WEDNESDAY: If money were no object, what kinds of things would you have in a “home gym”, (sky’s the limit).NESDAY:

Hear Ye Hear Ye, the Weightkeeper speaks

This week was a success because each team had a net LOSS. This is good. Here's how this week starts.

-------------------Black Team-----Blue Team-----Red Team-----Total
started week---------17-------------22------------21------------60
removed---------------2--------------7-------------1------------10
current-members------15-------------15------------20------------50
not reporting 1 wk------2--------------6-------------3------------11
not reporting 2 wk------2--------------1-------------4-------------7
weigh ins for week-----11--------------8------------13------------32

Thank you to those that are still on the journey with us. I have not had the experience I had hoped for with BL 6 but I will stick this out until the end. Every day is a challenge and I need to do my best for my team.

Now on to the fun.

Blue Team Week 9

8 weigh ins
1 gains totaling 1 lbs
2 maintains
5 losses totaling 10.4 lbs
7 removed from challenge with losses totaling 34.6 lbs

Weekly net loss 9.4 lbs
Cumulative net loss 127.5 lbs

Now the real fun begins. Let's look at our Blue Team Superstars.

Once again we will include the following disclaimers. If you skip weeks your percentage is adjusted accordingly. If you gained last week and lost this week that affects your percentage. If you lost this week but are still working on losing last weeks gain you are not named a superstar. If you got problems with that PM or email me to gripe about it.

And of course the standard disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. I try not to. Believe me I really pour over all this stuff before I post it for you. I strive to be as accurate as possible. If you have a concern please PM or email me.

Yes that is all word for word from last week. Get over it. Here's the good stuff.

We have an upset this week. A new team has reclaimed the #1 position. Let's see who it was.

The week 9 WISH BL 6 Challenge Biggest Loser Team

#3-The Red Team-.478%
To be #1 they would have had to lose an additional 7.4 pounds

#2-The Blue Team-.574%
To be #1 we would have had to lose an additional 3.7 pounds

and now announcing our weekly Biggest Loser Team Champions

#1-The Black Team-0.798%

Congratulations to the Black Team. They were last #1 for week 5. This victory gives them 4 weeks at #1. That's more than any other team.

Red team may not be at #1 this week but I do need to make a comment about their consistency. The Black team had a huge loser that cinched the title for them this week. Red had 10 losers for the week, Black had 6 and Blue had 4. Their losses ranged from .2 to 5 pounds with 9 losses being under 3 pounds. They are small losses but they are losses. That is what it is all about losing consistently. Black and Blue presented the calculation challenges of those with losses after gains and those not checking in last week. 7 of the Red losers also lost last week. Consistency. Great job Red Team!

Now back to the countdown. We only have 4 more weigh ins. Can the Black team continue their domination? After dropping to #3 after 3 weeks at #1 will the Red Team rise again? The Blue Team has seen 2 weeks at #1. Will we get our act together and get back to #1?

Right now we have only one Loser at 20 pounds lost so far. Will others join her? What can you do before the end of Biggest Loser 6? How will you get to your goal?

Each day is a gift and we have the power to make healthy choices to live the lives we want to live. Your team needs you. What are you waiting for? Get to work! I know you can do it!

Have a healthy day!

OK I am here to discuss with the group tips on how you fit in activity every day particularly with everything going on over the holidays.

#1 When spending time with loved ones for the day take a walk together. Enjoy the beauty of nature and spend some quality time together.

#2 My personal favorite, exercise while watching TV. I realize that TV viewing may not be a priority with family around but if you are watching get up and move around. Encourage others to join you.

#3 Exercise first, have fun later.

Now I would like to share my experience with Plan a trip or visit with a loved one that lives far away. Make it a point to actually follow through. This may mean planning a summer 2009 visit, but at least they know you want to see them.

Background. I am the oldest of 3 girls. I am the only one married and with kids. I live 2 hours away from the rest of the family. Sisters all live within 45 minutes of mom. Dad died of cancer almost 13 years ago. I had young kids at home and worked full time at the time and could not be there as often as I would have liked. Mom is now 77 and has had heart problems since dad died and once again I could not be there like my sisters. I am the black sheep of the family. My kids have all now left the nest. I have drifted apart from my sisters. Our livestyles are quite different and I have not worked on sustaining our relationships. I talk to mom by phone weekly.

Mom still lives in the three bedroom home I grew up in. When my family was younger we would all come to visit with a place for everyone to sleep. Mom is a packrat and now none of the three extra beds are usable for sleeping. They hold her precious stuff. After my kids left it got to the point that only I could go visit her because she could only clean off a single bed for me. Cleaning the double bed DH and I used to share is no longer an option.

Several years ago mom could not clean off a bed for me to visit. I have tried to do a day trip to visit but four hours of driving makes for a stressful day. My sisters have convinced her that for health reasons it is not safe for her to drive to see me. I do have a guest room she could occupy for overnight visits.

I have not seen mom in a while and wanted to invite her to visit for Thanksgiving. She usually spends the holiday alone. When this item was posted on the challenge I put off my invitation so it could count for the challenge. Here is a synopsis of my Saturday conversation with mom.

Me - What are your Thanksgiving plans?

mom - Nothing much. I'll just be home alone.

Me - I'd love to have you spend the holiday with Ken and I. I will drive up and get you. You can stay in our guest bedroom. We can enjoy a special meal together and you can spend several days with us. We can go to a local crafter's fair on Black Friday and do some local sightseeing. We could even take an overnight girls trip to Pennsylvania if you want. I am so excited to have you come to visit.

mom - I can not be away from home for that long.

Me - Well you can just come for Thanksgiving and I will take you the next day if that is what you want.

mom-I have four Thanksgiving dinners to attend next week with all the senior groups I am a part of.

Me-I would really like you to come here for Thanksgiving.

mom-I don't think I want to do that.

Me-I have not seen you in a really long time. When can I come to visit for the day.

mom-I am too busy working on getting my Christmas cards sent out. (Mom always sends out hundreds of Christmas cards to everyone she has ever know. Each year she also includes copies of her annual Christmas letter. You know the one - this is what I did this year, the kids did that, we are all doing fabulously and Merry Christmas to you by the way.)

Me-OK I see that you are very busy. (Conversation ends abruptly. I hang up and bawl my eyes out.)

In my weekly calls to mom I will listen for the declaration that the Christmas cards are done and I will then demand to know when I can come to visit for the day. On that day I will somehow manage to discuss how devastated I feel about this whole thing. I have offered to help her declutter the house but she is not interested in my help.

Any suggestions ladies??

Congratulations Leanne for being # 1 this week!

Brenda I like your tips for staying fit during the holidays. I want to walk after we eat our holiday meals. Usually if I don't I get sleepy. Most of the time we sit around, get the sales papers out and plot our moves for the following day. I hope that things with your mom go better then you think. Sometimes our mothers think they have to be there for everyone (my mom is bad for that at our church) and I get mad sometimes because she can't do things when I can. Good luck - I'm thinking of you and your mom! - Lisa.

Leanne - WTG on being our BL for the Blue this week...keep up the great work and wear that clippie proud.

Brenda- Thanks for sharing your tips...sorry to hear about things with your mom, I'm having some issues with mine too, really trying to remember these things as my kids get older and will be working hard to not do things that will cause them to have the feelings that I'm having.

As for staying fit during the holidays...When out shopping, part far away from the door, every step counts. DH and I have been going to the park to walk which helps us talk about Christmas stuff concerning the kids without their ears around. Since I'm drinking lots of water, I'm in the bathroom more...everytime I go in, I will do at least 10 squats, jumping jacks or something.

QOTD Thursday: If you could go to ANY Disney property tomorrow, which one would you go to and why? (DLR, WDW, Disney Paris, Tokyo Disney, DCL, Castaway Cay, etc…)

DCL - This is on my list of things that I really want to do...I've never been on a cruise and DCL is the only one I'm really interested in. Don't know if we'll get to do this before DD graduates, it may end up happening once the kids are grown.

QOTD WEDNESDAY: If money were no object, what kinds of things would you have in a “home gym”, (sky’s the limit).NESDAY:

I would have a treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical, weight machines and a Wii with lots of active games...I would also have an indoor pool that could be used year round:), boy that would be a dream come true.

Tammy, I like your list. That indoor pool sure sounds good.

ThursQOTD-I've only been to WDW. We are going on a DCL & Castaway Cay in February. I would like to visit Tokyo Disney. I love the Japan area at Epcot, I would only imagine how nice Disney must be.

Thanks for the Congrats Ladies!

I'm happy to have done well last week. I don't think this week will be as good but what matters is that I stick with it.

QOTD: If I could go to any property tomorrow it would be WDW. I would be so happy to be there. We had another layoff yesterday and my best buddy at work was let go. I am greatful to have a job but bummed that she isn't there anymore :sad2:

baby1disney: Glad to see you're back!

Brenda: I'm sorry your Mom is being so difficult. My mom is the opposite. She expects me to be at her disposal all of the time and has to be the center of attention. She has put a black cloud over every really important event in my life - my wedding, the birth of my two daughters, my college graduation etc. She always finds a way to make a scene and put the attention on her. I love her with all of my heart but she can be a complete handful. I'm like Tammy - I hope I don't put my kids through the stuff my mom puts me through. I hope your mom comes to her senses and chooses to spend some time with you.

Well Blue Team I hope you are doing well and that we all stick together for the next few weeks. I have really enjoyed this challenge. I've lost about 12 pounds since we have started and I thank all of you for the motivation! I'm back in the 150's and the 140's are just around the corner. 140's would make this 5'8 amazon very happy ;)

Have a great night ladies!

Leanne

Friday weigh-in. 2 pounds lost this week :yay:

Work has been crazy, so I haven't been good about answering QOTDs, but I do pop on and lurk at least once a day while eating my soup at lunch. You ladies are very inspiring.
