Biscuit's Grand Adventure 2 - Adventures in Opposite - 12/3 Another Update!

Such a heartwarming chapter! Thanks, loved it. :goodvibes

I like that you wrote "The girls think we are going for lunch. Checking in is a surprise!" on your resort info. Too cute. I did think that you'd get a little farther before First Lady Biscuit caught on, but darn those portals of security.

Ah yes, I remember what they used to call "maps". And actually looking for road signs while driving. Now, it's a video game consisting of keep your actual vehicle aligned with the image of a vehicle on the gps screen.

Yay it has begun!

As soon as you mentioned the guard house I was on the edge of my seat as to whether the surprise would be found out!!!:lmao: I think I was too invested in the outcome emotionally!:thumbsup2

:cool1::cool1::cool1: So excited for your family and the upgrade!! What a view!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of the day.

AAAHHHHH!!! The Wilderness Lodge. We stayed here for our honeymoon and I have a particular love for that darling place.

And not much more gets better than an upgrade at Disney, no matter how minor. Though I thing view upgrades are the best. I can't bring myself to pay for a view when I doubt I will spend that much time in the room. So those are perfect.
We actually booked an Mermaid room at Art of Animation a few months ago for spur of the moment trip. When I was checking in, and the CM started apologizing because the pack and play crib wasn't already in our room and would take a bit to be delivered even though it was well past check in time, but then she started circling a room in the Cars Section- it seriously took all my willpower to not jump around like a crazy person!
Your description is better though. ;)
That is exactly how it feels!!! The giddiness!! I can't even.

GB, so glad you finally posted, I was seriously getting worried about you.

How wonderful that the surprise came off so well, so happy to hear that.
You got a great room too, so happy to see that. And what a wonderfully written story again, you just manage to put us right into the moment.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

Wonderful! I love the surprise and how it played out. And to get an upgrade with a great view on top of it!

Woohoo, an update!!! My heart was pounding in anticipation as you ran down the hall to your room! LOL So glad the surprise went so well!
I was very excited to get that far and keep it a secret. I can't tell you how many times I nearly spilled the beans.

Wow you got a great view, :cool1: You are starting off to have a wonderful trip.
It was such a cool room location!

I'm in! I was just looking at pictures of The Lodge yesterday and it's so beautiful!
:welcome: I LOVE the look of the WL!

Such a heartwarming chapter! Thanks, loved it. :goodvibes

The driver has to be entertained somehow. :drive:

I'll try to do more replies during my next break. Thanks for your patience everyone!

Hi GB!

I seem to remember you reading along on one of my TR's and enjoying your commentary, so I figured I'd tag along here!

Love your surprise--nice job pulling that off! WL is one of my favorite resorts on property (you may have been able to figure that out somehow), and your view is awesome.

Also, no surprise that a CM from the University of Delaware would be overly magical. Comes from the home state, I bet. :rolleyes1

Well written Sir Biscuit !! Being the ancient Relic that I am , I have no use ( translates to can't figure them Out) GPS and such, give me a map and a Trip Tik . Geez I am turning into my mother who had no use for these modern devices such as telephones and electric hand mixers:rotfl2::rotfl2:

So happy to have found your report. What a great beginning. Looking forward to it! Thanks for sharing!

I read your epic GB Adventure several years ago when I was new to the Boards and loved it! That was the reason that I started browsing the TR boards. I'm so excited to read along with this family adventure now.

What an truly thoughtful surprise you planned for Lady Biscuit to book her favorite resort. Glad you pulled off that one without a hitch. :)

Ahhhhh...you have reach 901 Timberline Drive. I know that address well. Gigantic fireplace. Colorado slate floor. Indian tempe chandeliers. Mission style furniture. You can't get better than that.

They had the best CM I have ever encounter. Becky and Kash just to name a few. The Kahula chocolate cake is one of my favorite dessert at Whispering Canon Cafe and not to mention their unlimited milkshake can take you to whole different dimension.

I hope the Biscuit family enjoy the WL as much as I do. The surprise element looks sounds a precious moment. Looks like there are still a few more trick up your sleeve. You are off to a great start. I can feel this is going to be an epic trip already. :woohoo:

:welcome: WELLL the rehab they said over the phone was to be completed was not so very completed. Lobby and courtyard were both impacted.

It was an adventure…

Just got back and I am happy to report the lobby looks wonderful.

I love that you kept that surprise all the way to the stop sign.

You got a GREAT view!!!!! So happy Lady biscuit was shocked!!!

Hi Greatbiscuit!

It's great to finally see another trip report from you! Can't wait to see more fabulous pics. I too have gotten a bit lazy with lugging the DSLR to WDW. I've been using a more compact micro 4/3 camera in addition to a point and shoot and my ubiquitous iPhone.
I leave for WDW in less than 2 weeks. Super excited! I'm impressed you kept such a fantastic surprise from your family so well. I'd be bursting at the seams. Their reaction was well worth it though!

Can't wait to read more!

WOW! What a view. It is great when prayers are answered!

Love me some Biscuit family adventures!! Your pre trip report reminds me of how much I enjoyed reading your trip report!!

Looking forward to more!!!

Hi GB!

I did finally make it over. Surely school starting wasn't a factor in that...;)

WHAT A ROOM LOCALE! NIIIIICE!

:welcome: Hey Cap'n O! Great to have you along! I have read several of your TR's and enjoyed them much! (Though I think I only made it to post on the last one.)

At one point during our stay at the WL, I found myself saying "Why would you ever want to stay anywhere else?" Of course looking at pics of the Poly and of Storm Along Bay at YC/BC, and of the AKL lobby, I can see how one might wish to pursue other options. But there is was just something about WL that I really loved. It would be tough to even think about staying somewhere else.

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! We've been moving slow, but part of that is the time of year. This is when the heaviest work load hits for our dept. I've been working a TON of late nights & weekends. Things are slowing now, so I hope to pick up the pace here a bit.

Thanks Rosie! I'll go see if I can find you a slide rule to use for your budget planning.

Peep......
:welcome: :wave2: How goes it great one?!
