Birthday Pins? & Pal Mickey

Can somebody tell me about the birthday pins that people are getting. Is this something they give out if its your birthday or is it something you buy? Does it have to be your actual birthday or can it be a few days after?

Where can you get Pal Mickey besides WDW? Do the Disney stores carry them?

Sarahsmom - Just came back from a birthday trip and picked up the birthday pins at guest services just inside each park- MGM and MK have the same pin, but Epcot and AK have different ones. The pins are free and they do not check ID - they just wish you a happy birthday!! We picked our day in MK together to celebrate, since that was the day we had PS at CP with Pooh and had noted a birthday. We thought it was fun to wear the pins - if a CM sees your pin they wish you a Happy Birthday (we also enjoyed saying H.B. to others wearing pins) - one handsome young CM hollered "Happy Birthday, Princess!!" across the Main St circle - I'm sure I blushed (I'm also sure he was flirting with my DD's!! )- but we all got a giggle out of it!. My friend was given a free piece of apple pie with a hearty "H.B!" at lunch counter. The birthday celebration at CP was lots of fun - he even got a card signed by all the pooh characters - his faves from childhood!! The buttons are a cute souvenir from a wonderful birthday trip - Enjoy!!

PS: I loved my Pal Mickey! The DS does not carry him - got mine on the boardwalk - they carry him in many of the stores in the parks. I've also seen posts of people finding him on Ebay and I think you can call the merchandise ordering # and have him shipped.
