Does anyone know if they do the finger scan if you have just a 1-day NON-hopper ticket? I'm just wondering what my dad is going to think of all that when we go later this month!!

Yes, I believe everyone must use the finger scanner. We went to Epcot for the day a couple of weeks ago and had to use the scanner. Since there is no more hand stamping, I guess the finger scan is "attached" to the ticket you use to enter the parks in case you want to leave and go back again later in the day.

Yes every adult has to do the finger scan with every type of ticket. It is now called ticket tagging.

When we were there in June it was hit or miss as to whether ya actually had to do the finger scan. A lot of the time we would put our ticket in and before we had a chance to put our fingers in the scanner the ticket was already out.

Just got back on Sunday and it was no hit and miss. Every park, every day, every adult that entered the park needed to scan. Please remember to carry your ID with you to the parks. If your scan doesn't work, which I can't tell you how many times we saw that happen, you will need your ID to prove who you are. We actually saw them turning people away if they didn't have ID with them. They then had to go all the way back to their resorts to get ID and try again. Interestingly enough, you could go all the way back to get your ID and when you try it a second time it will let you through. Myself, it didn't work for me one time, (I had a nice CM who just asked my name and let me in) but worked for me the next.

Rumor has it that on random days (or random busy days) the finger scanners don't reject anybody in order to get people through the turnstiles faster. This may be why your ticket can be returned before you can get your fingers into the scanner.

Rumor has it that Universal Studios is starting to use finger scanners, scanning your fingertip and probably fingerprint as opposed to finger dimensions as Disney does.
