Biggest park peeves?

Interesting thread, that is for sure!:lmao: Let me just start by apologizing....I, for one, have taken a picture with a flash on a dark ride. I didn't mean to, I promise!!!! My flash was turned off immediately after said picture, and I was exceptionally embarrassed!! And DH looked at me like this - :sad2: - for the rest of the ride........

My pet peeve...seeing people being upset/mad/irritated over little nothings. I realize that everyone is operating on little sleep, but you are in Disney World for goodness sake! Have FUN!!! Isn't that what it is all about??

(although I can second - or third - that my biggest pet peeve is that it isn't closer to my home! :rotfl:)

My pet peeve is people who follow too closely. In line I don't like the feeling of the person behind me practically touching me, or in some cases (ewww) actually touching me. When walking, if someone is so close as to crash into me if I slow down, then they are too close. Lets face it, people will stop walking in the middle of walkways, will slow down to take in the sights, or will slow or even stop in an effort to get through a crowd to something nearby. If you are crashing into them, chances are you are following too close. When I drive I keep back a few car lengths, so when I walk I try to also keep a few paces behind other people in case they do stop for no explainable reason.

I can't stand when people call their entire family to cone with them in line. I'm not talk meeting up and oh you're right here? Why don't the two of you come join us and we can go to dinner. I mean when THEY call people, OH! were here now, come in line quick! And keep doing that until there are 6-8 more people with them! It happened on my last trip, we got to meet Tinker Bell, Fawn, and Silver Mist before she was available to all the other guests. This family was in front of us, must have been a family reunion. The mom kept calling people from all over the park inviting them. While us, 3 people were behind then for an extra 45 minutes! It was so frustrating, i could have understood if one of the family members was crazy about Tink, but inviting 9+ people? Is ridiculous.

Another thing I can't stand is inconsiderate people. our first trip my mom had a broken ankle and needed to use an electric wheel chair. We were on main street and my moms wheel got stuck. A lady with her two kids in one of the double stollers rammed into my mom and started cussing at her! It wasn't a highlight of put trip needless to say!

This is easy...It would be the Pooh Sized woman pooh: in the ECV:moped: riding up my heels pulling a stroller with a seven year old in it and has her other child on a leash stretched out. She is obviously trying to cut in line while drinking out of her Resort Park mug from 2010 :drinking1 and eating a salad she made for free off the Pecos Bill's salad bar.popcorn:: When she does get to the ride she has not checked to see if she can fit in the ride seat so the ride is delayed. When she does get in after insisting the lap bar is not necessary she is taking flash photography  in the attic scene of HM. Then I spot her pool hopping:jumping1: at my resort where she apparently has been healed as she is walking up the slide line and STILL drinking :drinking1 out of her Pop Century Mug!!!

Actually for me it's all pretty good.:confused3 There are rude people but I only spend a few second of my day with them and makes me appreciate all of the beautiful peopleparty: we encounter daily. I don't do it but I mean a flash lasts 1/10 sec I will live!!! :thumbsup2

That being said teen age line hoppers are the devil:rolleyes1

The location of Soarin' FP. It should be set up outside the Land building! Would clear so much congestion on the stairs/escalators.

I have never thought of that, but OH MY are you right. It would take away needed foot traffic in the land, but man, it would make things easier for us.

Mine is parents who insist on talking about how the characters are people in suits or different princesses (ie same princess different friend)- if you want to explain this stuff to your kids fine just do it somewhere that it won't ruin the magic for others. Note to those parents standing in a line where lots of people can over hear you is not the right place to have that discussion.

This drove me crazy in November. I'm having a hard enough time trying to keep my 6 year old believing in Magic - please don't ruin it for those that still might believe by talking about it loudly in front of others.

My biggest one is the overzealous CM with the passive aggressive tone who's words are polite, but speaks and acts in a demeaning manner.

I have a few...

-People who stop in the middle of the walkway to look at a map/text/whatever...especially when I'm with my friends who have little ones and have to navigate around them while pushing the stroller!
-People who don't pay attention while standing in line and let these huge gaps of space form in front of them...it drives me nuts to be right behind those people!
-Having to watch fireworks through someone's iPad
-Seeing people leave their trash anywhere they like. This seems to always be a problem in the Small World queue...not sure why. But seriously? You can't be bothered to find a trash can? Who taught you that was OK?
-Flash photography anyplace it's dark - especially HM and the final scene of SSE :headache:

So basically my pet peeves are with rude/inconsiderate people. Ha.

:thumbsup2 I second this!! Totally agree with everything... the first one is a killer... if you're going to stop to think about what you're looking at or whatever, just move to the side... but to clog everything up!!!

Or people that just park in the doorway of a store....and then don't move when you're trying to get in. All so they can get like 10 seconds of how good the air conditione feels!!

Omgosh. Those ones ticked my son off to no end! Lol, he is a lifeguard and would never be snarky or abuse his power! But some if the kids sure do!

Teens and adults spewing profanity. I might be old fashioned, but it continues to make me cringe.

Why does this bother you? As long as they are not letting anyone by it's not waisting any time, you just move further once they figure it out? or am I missing something?

Chances are there is air conditioning or fans or shade the closer you get...

I'd be happy if they just put it on the same floor as the entrance, even if it was all the way in the back.

My pet peeve is anyone who thinks their right to enjoy WDW is superior to the right of everyone else to enjoy it … I mean I know you are on vacation and you paid a good amount of money to be there … but so did we! It’s hard to explain it, but these are the people that act as though they are the only ones on line, at the parade, on the attraction, getting food. They push and shove and let their kids push your kids out of the way. I don’t sweat the small stuff – but these are folks that just don’t care that they are messing with your vacation.

I have a big one and a small one. My big pet peeve are those few ( and I know it's a very small minority) who think that nobody will notice them lighting up and smoking a cigarette while they are leaving the park in a mass exodus! Those DSA are there for a safety reason. Well my daughter was burned on the hand by one such smoker who tried to hide the tip on the inside of his palm when I confronted him. He just walked faster and the woman he was with just shrugged her shoulders and walked faster too. NO "sorry" or concern for my daughter. I needed to get her to the first aid station so I didn't pursue him but I was soooo raging mad. Some people just think if they're on vacation, they can do anything they want and skip all rules and regulations that pertain to them. :sad1:

My small pet peeve are those expensive light up toys that they sell at Fantasmic. I don't really begrudge the children their fun and I never mention it while there, but I wait a long time for the show to start and I really want to enjoy it, but all I see when the lights go out are all of those flashing strobe light spinning around and it's distracting. I guess this is my version of the flashes and the texting lights on dark rides. :confused3

Mine would be people who get on a bus, expecting others to get up and give them a seat. Expecting being the key word. If someone wants to offer up their seat, fine. But there should be no glares or demands.

I have a mom who could in no way stand on a bus safely, and there is no way I would put her on a standing room only bus and depend on some stranger to get up so that she can sit and be safe. No way! If I couldn't be responsible enough to see to it that my mom was comfortable and safe, why should I expect total strangers to care?

If you or a family member can't stand on a bus, then see to it you don't. Step aside and wait for a bus with open seating. Take taxis when the buses are busy. Get a rental car. But don't demand others take care of you and yours when you can't be bothered to do so yourself.

If someone offers another person their seat then that person should be thankful. But to demand a seat of a total stranger is rude too.

I completely agree!

Mine pet peeve is the people on the ECVs who keep beeping their horns as the drive their scooters inches away from my behind.

THIS!!

We were there a couple of weeks ago, and there were several times when I could've easily gotten worked up. People cutting off, cutting lines, screaming kids, etc. But I had remembered reading some threads like these before I left, and I made the promise to myself and inadvertently my family, that I was not going to allow that stuff to make me upset. So, I'd just say the serenity prayer, and continue my happy, Disney experience.

And while it was a little work at first, after a day I found myself enjoying just chuckling at these things and moving on knowing that it didn't get the better of me. That was rewarding, and I know it paid dividends when it comes to how we all experienced our days in the parks.

There's lots of just totally oblivious people at Disney. So consumed with all the things going on that they have no idea if they've just cut someone off, or lagged in line a while, or bumped someone with their stroller. And others who's kids are melting down, and they're at a point where there's not a lot they can do...man i just felt bad for them. I don't think all of these people are inconsiderate, or rude. I just give them the benefit of the doubt that they are out of their element, and they're acting like it.

If you threw me in the Amazon jungle with a machete, I'd probably hack down some endangered plants on my way through, and then kill the last of a species for dinner that night. The locals would probably think I was the worst person on the face of the planet. Meanwhile, I'm just surviving.
