SCREAMING, crying, gurgling, EXHAUSTED, whining children--more specifically The Parents who will not take them back to the hotel and put them down for a nap/to bed early.
Am I allowed one more??? Please???
Children in restaurants that are everywhere except seated at the table with their families. I don't want your kid jumping up and down on my seat, I don't want them under my table, it is UNSAFE for kids in the walkways (not to mention unsafe for the servers)--I've had to get kids out of my purse (stored under the table) more than once!
As a former server, I agree with this 100%. If I am carrying a huge oval tray with 7 dinners, I cannot see what is directly (within 2 feet) in front of me. So if a toddler runs at me full force, or I trip over a child, chances are that child is someone going to get hurt by the broken glass, from the fall, or god forbid, burned from hot soup or coffee. I in no way blame the kids, of course, but the parents who felt their 18 month old can sit through a 2 hour meal in a fancy restaurant.
Not to mention the people who let their babies crawl around on the carpeted floor. I constantly had to tell parents there could be glass, staples, etc in the carpet-some picked their kids up, others didn't. Made me wonder.
My own personal pet peeve at Disney is what many people have already posted: inconsiderate people who butt in line/in front of others at parades. When I was 8, we went to Disney, and my parents explained it would be very crowded and that we would have to wait a long time for rides. (This was before FP, and the wait for Splash was 2 hours!). The wait didn't bother me-I was going to Disney for crying out loud! Once in a lifetime opportunity!
I'm sure if every parent had that discussion with their child, the child would understand. Sadly, its the parents who take the lead in butting in-the kids just follow them.
Couple more I just though of: when people bring their children to the DSA's. As a smoker, I limit myself to the DSA's, and it makes me very uncomfortable when a Mom parks her stroller next to me and settles her toddlers onto the bench before lighting her cigarette. The other is Disney's e-cigarette policy. People say kids shouldn't see anyone smoking, its a bad influence, they can't tell the difference between real and fake cigarettes. I call BS there. First of all, is a child REALLY going to want to pick up smoking because they see an average Josephine like myself smoking? I doubt it. Second, even if a child does want to smoke, aren't there laws that prohibit them from purchasing cigarettes? I also don't think its fair to force people who have quit or are trying to quit to have to stand alongside real cigarette smoke.
