Biggest Loser Show Chit Chat Thread

Short show. Trying to do too much so didn't get much of anything really. Maybe next week will be more exciting.

I have to say that none of that food really looked that appetizing after sitting for who knows how long during filming. :confused3

I think it would have been more fair to have one team from each group working for the letters home, too.

But what do I know -- I'm just a viewer! ;)

I'm with you, Lisa. I love pizza with black olives, but that just looked nasty! I didn't see anything I wouldn't have been able to resist. That woman who said she ate her treat even from the trash can -- that's just scary :scared1: Which makes me wonder -- do the contestants get any kind of therapy? It would seem like a logical component along with the fitness and eating advice...you never hear about it, so I wasn't sure :confused3

I agree that regardless of the weight and number of people, it wasn't a fair competition. You had two people who probably think somewhat alike, versus all these other viewpoints who had different knowledge to bring to the table. That was not fair :sad2:

I don't know if they get any therapy at the Ranch but there were a lot of details about the Ranch in Runner's World this month (it was about Season 10). They said that they had the contestants swallow an internal thermometer before they did that first mile to make sure they didn't get heat stroke. They also have quite a few sessions with the nutritionist but maybe only a few hours a week with the trainers. :confused3

I wouldn't eat food out of the trash but will 'fess up to picking a pack of cigarettes out of the trash when I was quitting -- that was more than 20 years ago. :sad2: Addiction is a scary, scary thing. :scared1:

Anyone else think the Black team was a couple weenies? It seems like they weren't into it from the beginning and it makes me mad that another team who would have relished the opportunity to be there and make changes was denied that chance. I don't know how they go about picking the contestants, but perhaps they need to screen them a bit better.

The Unknowns are interesting. They really seem to be a family, with the exception of Q, who also seems to not have his head in the right place. It will be interesting to see how all the trainers work together; as much as I love Jillian, the previes kinda made her look like a primadonna and that she was not into having Brett and Cara in her gym. Perhaps more of the drama this year will be between the trainers and not the contestants?

I agree, I think the black team both tried out because they felt like they had to in order to get their families back, they weren't necessarily interested in the hard work it takes to succeed at the ranch. I think 4 trainers in 1 gym is not a good idea, Jillian could buy and sell those two many times over, and she has to be thinking that. Q clearly needs a reality check. I'm still not sure he gets it.

I think that once we see them interact more and on teh same challenges, we will see more drama. I predict the "family" will quickly fall apart when they stop dividing them in this way.

Finally finished the show last night. I think you are absolutely right, Maria, the family is going to turn on one another -- it is just a matter of time! :rolleyes1

I'm still enjoying this season much more than the last one. It looks like next week's show will be interesting -- hope it's not just editing! :rotfl2:

I agree this seasons been pretty good. I don't really have a favorite yet.

I definitely prefer this season to the last one. I don't have a favorite person yet, but I like the spirit from all the teams. Now the black team is gone, everyone seems to want to be there!

I'm looking forward to tonight's episode. I already told dh I don't want candy for Valentine's Day this year -- I told him I want one dark chocolate-covered strawberry. I keep reminding myself that Godiva is at the mall -- you can get this stuff year-round if you really want it!

Wowza! Only half way through but it has to be one of the most interesting shows I've seen so far! :cool2: And apparently they are making up for those lost product placements! ;)

There was a part that bothered me during the temptation challenge but I was glad about the outcome!

Last night's show had plenty of drama...I think the end result was not surprising, and I look forward to next week's show! By the way, so proud of the ladies with those spectacular losses -- guess they can "hang" with the big dogs after all! ::yes::

Maria :upsidedow

Hoping the ladies do well again this week but maybe it is time for one of the blue team boys to go home if they can't start pulling some big numbers. :rolleyes1

I couldn't agree with you more, Lisa. I really think there is some eating going on that we don't know about...and I'm questioning how hard they work when Bob and Jillian aren't breathing down their necks. How can you be as big as Arthur and not drop big numbers every week (or even once?!), there must be something else happening...

Maria :upsidedow

Finally got to watch yesterday. I don't get why Arthur was threatened by Jen and Jay. Did I miss something? I was very excited to see the girls do so well. And Arthur and Jesse are the only 2 men on the black team, they should probably watch their backs, cause I will bet money that the girls will kick them to the curb should the opportunity arise. And Maria, you are right, there is no reason Arthur should not be dropping huge numbers each week. Michael did last year.

Q going home, no surprise. I think Arthur made another mistake by sending Jay and Jen, who had previously worked with the Unknowns. They fit in and worked hard, proved themselves. Q has not been working as he should, so he got sent home. Question is, can red win this week and get Arthur or Jesse sent home?

I just found this thread! I love this season so far. The unknown trainers are really interesting to see, and I love so much of the drive of the contestants. I have to say that I do have a fav team....kinda. I usually pick a fave and it changes week to week! As of right now, I really like the sister team - the purple team. They seem to have great personalities, and they work hard. Anyway, I look forward to seeing what everyone has to say this week!

::yes:: Yep, I think that you are spot on, Maria.

::yes:: You're right, too, Veronica.

I think if there was something that showed why Arthur felt that way about Jay and Jen it would have made the show. I'm kind of thinking that they are light on contestant drama this go round and that's why we have all the trainer drama. ;) I'm sure it is just a matter of time until there is contestant drama, too.

:wave2: Hi Holly! Thanks for joining us! :flower3:

Can't wait to see what happens tonight!

I thought last week's show was one of the best BL's I've ever seen.....but this week's was even better!

Why on earth did the Red team not pick Arthur or atleast Courtney ?????
I guess based on past performance but I would have been thinking Arthur was "due" for a big loss.

I'm going to assume it's OK to spill what happened last night. I think if you're reading this thread you have to be aware that we are discussing the show!

I just hope the show doesn't go back to all the game play from last season. I liked last season but didn't love it. I am really liking this season. I was psyched for Arthur though I still don't understand his logic. It was good to see him working so hard this week and it paid off. Rulon was a little too dramatic this week for me. The train challenge was kind of dumb in my honest opinion as it didn't show that they learned anything. I think they should have had 3 choices for each question so they could make up for any mistakes. I just hope they rethink that challenge if they ever use it again.

TTFN :tigger:

Oh, I agree about the challenge. It didn't give them an opportunity to really use what they have learned - they just had to guess on the fly. Anyway, so happy for Arthur! I so didn't see the black team winning the weigh in again! Good for them!
:)

Yep, it's okay to put in spoilers -- sometimes we put things in white so people can highlight the answer if they want to read it, too. I always watch later but look at the website first thing! :rotfl2: So do you get it 8 hours earlier on the slingbox or you watch it the next afternoon? (You probably told me but I forgot ;)) :bday: BTW!

Yep, I don't think the train challenge was that great. I think the Unknowns haven't had as long to work on the nutrition part of this new lifestyle.

::yes:: It was about time that he got it together. Lots of folks going into ONE-derland this week.

I have no idea when I will see next week's show since I will be at WDW. princess: I guess I will survive! :rotfl2:

Everything shows live on our slingbox at the same time as it is showing in EST in the US.

So for BL, it comes on at 8:00pm EST and 2:00am Central European Time.
We use our DVR to tape any prime time shows since we aren't up during that time. It seems like we get everything later since we can't watch it until later!

But, when do you get BL on the west coast? It can't come on at 11:00 pm there????? Does it also come on at 8:00 there?
