Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Team Challenge for Losers and Maintainers!!!

Those grilled cheese recipes do sound really good, especially the pumpkin one. I never really considered putting anything else in a grilled cheese besides cheese (and maybe some ham or turkey.) I'll definitely have to try those out!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

So DM and I went shopping today to get me some new clothes and a new dress for a friend's wedding (same friend we had the shower for over the weekend.) Not only did I find a new dress (and a size smaller than the last dress I bought!) but I also found some really cute shoes to go with it! Pedicure may be in order for this weekend. ;) Now what to do with my hair?!

We did go to Waffle House for lunch today and while I did get hashbrowns, instead of having them fried, I had them steamed with a piece of cheese and mushrooms (still craving mushrooms like crazy) which was better than I thought it would be. Didn't even miss them being fried. :thumbsup2

Went to the gym today after not going for a couple of days... Boy did I feel it this time... Only got about 30 minutes in but I was able to do it on a incline and at about a 17 minute mile pace. I'll definitely have to try not waiting so long between workouts... :sad2: But on the bright side, I did 13 minutes on the elliptical without stopping once! :woohoo:

30 minutes on an elliptical is a lot!
I've been wanting a grilled cheese sandwich since I've been sick and we have a lot of really good progresso tomato soup to use up. I think I'm going to check out that website..

I was able to do the 20 minute elliptical workout tonight pain free

LOL! We were posting at the same time! Feeling great today!

:woohoo: to both!

So I left the school early today and went over to the new school to meet them and go over a few things. They were all so friendly and welcoming it was wonderful. Even the principal came out to meet me and thank me for coming to help out. Took away some of the nervousness.

Wonderful! :cool1:

Thanks so much for the grilled cheese recipes. I'd like to try 2 of them the first and the pumpkin. I have all the ingredients even!

I hope you enjoy them! :)

OK do not, I repeat DO NOT eat the KFC pot pie!!!! It was really good, but damn 790 calories?!!? Good thing I wasn't hungry for dinner!! I used up all my calories for the day on that, I'm not happy. Darn kids and their projects!!!!!!!

But everything is done and ready to go for tomorrow. I will post pics later, I'm to tired to upload now.

Night!!!!

scared1: KFC is no longer on my list of places to go. :scared1:

Looking forward to pictures.

:yay: for a great shopping trip! Congrats on a smaller size! :worship:

Good Wednesday morning everyone.

I went swimming with a friend yesterday. She works at a private school close to my school. They have an indoor pool and she teaches phys ed so she invited me over to swim after school. I did easy laps for a half an hour. It felt good but I was so tired last night that I fell asleep during NCIS. I never did see who did it.

I don't have to go to school today. I am going to a workshop to learn some software for my class.

I don't know where the morning went but I have to get dressed.

Have a happy and healthy day.

I couldn't fall asleep last night when I realized I hadn't posted today's QOTD. I obviously should have counted sheep. :rotfl2:

QOTD for Wednesday, 3/28: Stitch is at your doorstep with a note from his doctor.

Dear Unsuspecting Neighbor,

Stitch came in for his physical a few days ago and he is overweight. Lilo has been feeding him too many snacks and big dinners. I convinced her to feed him a practical breakfast, but I need your help with lunch and dinner. Please hang out with him long enough to feed him lunch and dinner and have them total approximately 1000 calories. A mid-day snack is encouraged as well. Breakfast is oatmeal made with 1/2 cup of milk and topped with a serving of berries plus a serving of vegetables. Stitch's favorite vegetable is is the onion. ;)

Thank you for your help.

Dr. Trainer

What will you feed him?

Keeping in mind that I count Points and not calories and as such I don't have many calorie counts in my head, here is what I will serve.

Lunch: large spinach salad topped with red onion slices, three sliced hard boiled egg whites, 1 Tb. Sliced almonds, 1/4 C black beans, and 1 Tb. sweet Vidalia onion dressing. Seltzer with lime to drink.

Snack: 1/2 sweet red pepper filled with 1 wedge Laughing cow cheese, 1 serving of fat free whole wheat pretzel twists (approx. 12).

Dinner: 6 oz. pan seared white fish (tilapia, ocean perch, cod, haddock, flounder, etc), 1/2 c quinoa tossed with 1/2 c roasted red pepper, spinach, and summer squash, one large whole roasted "blossomed" sweet onion topped with one slice low fat cheddar cheese. Drink either water, seltzer, or iced tea with lemon.

Not sure if there are any calories left for a treat, but if so dessert will be a baked apple filled with raisins and 1 tsp of real brown sugar.... He can share this with Lilo if not enough calories left!.............P

Morning friends! Sitting here in the historic seaside city of New Bedford, MA enjoying my coffee and yogurt parfait and free wifi courtesy of McD's! I don't much care for their food but wanted the wifi, so here I am.;)

Left the house at 5:30 for the 3 hour drive so that DD could do her job shadowing today with a distant cousin of mine that works for the Dept. of Marine Fisheries. Fortunately we left the house early enough (and thanks to the carpool lane) that we weren't held up much by the Boston traffic.

Not sure what I am going to do with my day, but I've got my walking shoes on and it looks like an ok day to walk the beach! I may also go to the whaling museum. I figure I'm free until at least 1 or 2 pm.

Time to catch up here at least a bit!........P

How ironic. I just sent my DD out the door for her job shadowing. She is following an engineering professor. She's got about a 10 minute drive. :good vibes

Enjoy the free day! Sounds awesome!

Okay....coffee cup is empty and wifi seems to be slowing down, so I'm off to entertain myself today! TTYL..........P

You know some day I'll show up at your door right?

I'm counting on it!;)

Lucky girl on the 10 min drive. But DD has a good chauffeur and she napped on the long ride! Seriously, DD had set something up with a cousin who worked at a nature sanctuary a bit closer to home (90 min) ,but he dropped the ball on her and it fell through. Oh well........P

oh my goodness i have fallen very behind in our chatter here! i'm still having troubles with headaches and the reading worsens it so forgive me....i think of you all everyday!!

i have worked up to walking about 15-20 mins a day, slow and easy pace but getting out there. not sure if i told you all but we have a new puppy coming home at Easter so she'll keep me out there walking for sure! she's staying with my oldest daughter in the meantime, she'll just be 4 months old when she comes, what was i thinking? my DD brought her over yesterday and it was the puppy-watch during the day that i'm not looking forward too i must admit...but she is sooooo darn cute ;) she's a terrier mix and has quite a personality which i love

anyhow -- i need to get serious again about journaling. we are fortunate to have meals coming three nights a week so it makes it harder for planning out but i need to get more focused on those days about eating veggies/fruits mostly during the day and 'saving' up for the dinners coming. i was very specific with the planner that there are only 3 of us and we aren't big eaters so thankfully the portions coming are usually spot-on

on the downside.....i spoke with my endocrinologist monday night and he feels my surgery was not successful in curing or putting my Cushings into remission :sad2::sad2::sad2: his recommendation is to continue weaning off the steroids and then retest (labs) again (omg) and he believe it will support a recommendation of a bilateral adrenalectomy...boooo!! this is the last resort as it will leave my dependent on low-dose steroids for life :sad2::sad2: but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do to get HEALTHY again!

Ack! I'm always getting behind. School started back this week and I have been quite busy and just plain exhausted.

QOTD Yesterday?: Oh, a birthday gift. Well, a trip to WDW would be nice!!

QOTD: Hm. Well, I think for lunch it would be a Morningstar Vegetarian Turky Burger, on a 100 calorie bagel with a bit of honey mustard, 1 slice of american soy cheese, 3 pickles, 2 tomatoes, and some lettuce. Along with that 2 cups of frozen mixed vegetables. That is about 370 calories.

Then for dinner 1/3 cup Near East Quinoa, with a Morningstar Spicy Black Bean Burger or Tofu (his choice! :rotfl2:) with another 2 cups of frozen mixed vegetables on the side. This is about 500 calories.

So, 130 left for a snack. I'd go with a medium sized apple with 1 tbsp of peanut butter for dipping. That's about 140 calories!

----
Been doing alright with exercise. Not going as hard this week, I feel really tired for some reason. That being said I have been doing well with my eating so I'm hoping that will help me out a bit this week. 5K is this weekend, tomorrow is the last day to sign up. I'm still on the fence about it but I will probably sign up.

Have a wonderful evening! :goodvibes

Some replies and then a QOTD of that is much less of a thread killer...

Dona: Glad you had a great time swimming yesterday! :cool1:

I couldn't fall asleep last night when I realized I hadn't posted today's QOTD. I obviously should have counted sheep. :rotfl2:

If I don't post a QOTD now, you may see a multi-paragraph essay tomorrow. :rotfl2:

What will you feed him?

Lunch: A low-carb tortilla with some homemade tomatoes-only (plus spices) sauce, topped with a serving of lowfat mozz cheese, a few slices of onion and 1/2 serving of slice pineapples plus plenty of water (approx 300 calories)

Snack: 1 serving of asparagus with 1 tbsp fat free sour cream and onion dip and a celery stalk filled with 1 tbsp almond or cashew butter as well as another glass or 2 of water (approx 200 calories)

Dinner: Seared pork diced up and faux-fried (like Hungry Girl) with 1/2 serving of steamed brown rice and some diced onions and peppers with ample water(approx 400 calories)

Dessert: 1 serving of 50 calorie French Onion soup from Progresso and 1 clementine and some water to wash down the extra salt (approximately 100 calories)

Keeping in mind that I count Points and not calories and as such I don't have many calorie counts in my head, here is what I will serve.

I had Points values as part of my original plan too. I'm sticking to sheep for sure. ;)

Lunch: large spinach salad topped with red onion slices, three sliced hard boiled egg whites, 1 Tb. Sliced almonds, 1/4 C black beans, and 1 Tb. sweet Vidalia onion dressing. Seltzer with lime to drink.

These are some amazing meals! :thumbsup2 I'm with Buffy! :cool1:

Morning friends! Sitting here in the historic seaside city of New Bedford, MA

I thought about PMing you and driving up to hang out until I looked on a map. :scared1: For some reason, I thought you were near Worcester. Did you get to the museum?

Hi Molli! Sorry to hear your news about your surgery. Glad that you are exercising and enjoy your new puppy! :cool1:

QOTD for Thursday, 3/29: Now that spring has started, we can think about summer. What is it about summer that you love the most? You are welcome to have more than one thing.

Swimming in our pool
Watermelon
Our garden fresh veggies

:furious: I can NOT believe it. I have been a SAHM for the last 16+ years. I finally get a great job opportunity (even if it is temporary ) and what happens? I GET A FLIPPING JURY SUMMONS! :headache::mad: I am sure it won't be a big problem but still, I won't get paid and certainly would much rather be working then at the courthouse. And, while the "Jury Service Handbook" says to bring something to do like needlework they don't allow sewing or knitting needles in the courthouse.

I am not even sure how I would be able to serve on a jury. I truly need a bathroom break about once an hour (sometimes more frequently!) and my hip stiffens up if I sit any longer than that anyway (sometimes more frequently!). I am guessing they don't take breaks every hour.

I am so ticked off and frankly worried. I am a good demographic to be picked and I really don't want to be trying to "hold it" and/or in pain the whole time. And if that happens I probably won't be paying much attention to what is going on.

Will try to pop back on later. Fairly good eating day so far, but been hungry all day for some reason. Need to enter it all into the WW tracker and see what is left for dinner.

I just have to vent, I hope you guys don't mind! I found out today that one of the requirements to get into the school of education in my program at school is a 3.0 GPA in all social sciences courses. Well lets just say I DO NOT meet that requirement. I'm REALLY hoping that since the actual wording of the requirement states: "student must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 in ALL social sciences courses" that it means that its a cumulative gpa and not that they look into every class individually but if so...i'm screwed. I'm going in early to talk to the head of the program tomorrow but tonight i'm just freaking out. I need some disney magic because i'm making myself sick with worry!

I know I shouldn't worry until I talk to the department head, but try telling my brain that! My boyfriend is 99% positive that its cumulative, and i talked to another girl in the program and she thinks its cumulative as well but...i did not realize i had done poorly on these classes and that they were still on my transcript! I thought I had dropped them!

Ugh, I have a midterm tomorrow too that I need to study for but I feel way to stressed to concentrate on anything. If I don't get into the education program I really don't know what I'm doing with my life.
