WooHoo! Calender age 40.9, RealAge 35.9!!! Gonna see if I can make it better. New age goal: "not yet born"

Ok, I am in. I tried to be a part of BL 4 but got discouraged because after about 8 weeks I didn't lose a freaking lb. In fact I gained about 2 :(

So now with a busy school semester behind me this week I am ready to get going because I really want to wear shorts this summer.

So I pm'd my starting weight and am ready to start doing the challenges :)

I love the idea of the treadmill. I have a stepper that measures miles. I'll have to think about that. I'd rather do the treadmill but gotta work with what I've got.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week.

I have a great website that I use to track my miles. It is called logyourrun.com

It shows when you have completed a marathon. St Louis to Kansas City and even around the world.

I just took my real age.

Calendar
31.3

Real
24.5

Difference of -6.8 years. Not to shabby :)

They said I should eat more fish, well no can do since I am allergic. In take more vitamin E and other vitamins, get my cholesterol checked (I have no idea what it is), and basically other nutrition things.

Hi Everyone

I'm trying to get excited about this upcoming week, it's going to be tough for me I think. I'm going to try to do something at work each day for lunch, we have a workout room with weights, exercise balls, tv/dvd and an elliptical. I just have to have a PLAN or I'll get up there and not do much of anything.

What does everyone have going on? Classes, gym visits, etc?

Good luck!

Awesome! I wish the base gym did classes like that. I'm thinking about getting the strip exercise DVDs from Bockbuster online.

I'm off to do some yoga now, since RealAge told me to work on my flexibility. And yoga is low impact for my precious eyeballs.

We did a little bit of strip dancing today in Zumba. It was really fun. Maybe it will help me get rid of my mid-section. I'm getting rather thick.

My routine is: get up at 4:30, at the gym by 5, and I work out until 6:20. :woohoo: Then I go home and get ready for work. (I just live down the road)

I haven't worked out for the past 8 weeks, (just walking), because I had surgery.

I think I'm going to do more cardio than I usually do. I also do the machines to build muscle. I'm planning on doing 2 Zumba classes a week.

I have to work out in the morning because I work until 5, plus I am doing online classes to get my Bachelor's in Organizational Mgmt. (I don't have a lot of time in the evenings.)

I'm a busy, busy girl.

OK, you're my hero. ;) This is SO what I need to do but I don't know how I can get my butt out of bed. I'm horrible about getting up in the mornings, just horrible. I know I will feel better all day if I just did it.

I had trouble at first, but after a few days, it was a rush working out in the morning. :thumbsup2

It was nice knowing my workout was done for the day. :goodvibes

I'm pretty proud of myself... I think this BL thread has inspired me.

I went to that B-day party and didn't even have cake. :yay:

That's the first time I have passed up junk food in months.

I think this is the start of something great. :dance3:

Thank You everyone. :thumbsup2

Well, I'm off for the night. Gotta get up early tomorrow. Back to the gym.

Happy excercising everyone. :thumbsup2

Hi
well as far as when I fit in exercise and activity -- It is best if I can get it done right when I get home from work and before dinner. If not then the other option is to work out after the dishes are done. This works for me as then I can take the rest of the evening to get the shower out of the way and actually makes getting ready for work the next day easier. My work schedule is M-F, punching in at 7 am and working until 3:30p. I have 3 to 4 pieces of exercise equipment to choose from, Nordic Track, Treadmill, stationary bike, dyna flex weight machine, and also the latest addition is a little item called "The Bean". The newest is the bean and I really enjoy it and rel I am getting a good workout from it. My program right now consists of running (cardio) and at least 3 days of strength training using weights.

On the weekends I find it is best to exercise in the morning and get it out of the way and knowing that it is done makes me feel better.

As far as trying something new, I borrowed a new DVD from DD, will try that tomorrow.

Good job Robin! I won't even recognize you the next time I see you! :cheer2:

Good MOnday MOrning. I had such a nice weekend. No place to go. This was the first time in about 4 or 5 months. I also don't have anyplace to go next weekend. To make that even better Dh and ds2 are leaving Friday to go camping and I don't expect ds1 to come up since it is almost the end of the semester and he has a big paper due.

I have to fit in time to exercise at 4:30 in the morning. When I get home from school there are usually so many things going on that I never get to exercising even though I want to. Maybe now that ds2 is getting ready to go off to college maybe I can get some done in the afternoon but until then it is at 4:30 in the morning.

Well off to get going today. Grades are due tomorrow.

Have a magical losing daypixiedust: pixiedust:

How did everyone do over the weekend? I did well with exercise; walked 1 mile Friday; 3 miles Saturday morning; and cleaned the house (3 floors) Sunday. I think I made some good choices for two meals out - baked chicken (no sauce) for one meal and steak and string beans for the other. When each plate was placed in front of me I immediately cut the meats in half - only ate half of everything!!! :thumbsup2 Will have the rest for leftovers this week. It's raining and thundering here outside in Maryland so I'll do a new exercise video this evening for my new activity for the week :goodvibes

Good morning!

I am off to a good start today. I have a question though that maybe some of you can help with.

My problem seems to be in the evenings. Late evening, bedtime. I tend to crave carbs at these hours and I wanted to know if others have this issue and what helps beat these cravings.

What seemed to work the other day to a certain degree was to skip my lunchtime Slimfast shake, eating a South Beach wrap and salad for lunch instead. Then I saved the Slimfast shake for evening, (I make mine with powder in the blender with ice so it is thick and full). But I wanted to know if anyone else had some other tips that might work better.

Thanks!

Mary

I use the old trick of brushing my teeth and then chewing mint gum if it gets really bad. If I just cant take it anymore, I go to bed early. It doesn't always work, but it does make it easier.

happybratpak - What is Chick fil A? I've never heard of that.

As for Chick-fil-a it is a southern thing. I love going there, since I know I can eat healthy. I have the grilled chicken, a fruit cup and a water, and I am right in line with calories.

And as for me, I had a pretty good weekend. It was pretty relaxing. My fiancé and I went to 4 (yes 4) difference malls on Saturday looking for this specific type of bonsai tree that a friend wants for his birthday (to no avail). They are flying in Friday, so now I have to come up with a plan B gift for his birthday yesterday.

Oh and that was big news....my fiancé and I *are* getting married in September. We decided a while back that eloping was just easier for us. Now you see, we are headed to Mexico in July for a friends wedding. My fiancé suggested, we head down there a little early and get married on the beach. That sounds wonderful, but now I am getting married in 12 weeks! 12 weeks. I thought I had until late September to look awesome in my dress, now I only have 12 weeks!
Now granted this is nothing official as of yet (we are planning on looking into it this week), but still I have to be on my best behavior weight wise!

My weekend was pretty good. The weather was so since that I worked outside all day Saturday. My legs and back are a little sore from squatting and shoveling, but I sweat a pretty good amount! I ate well, which is a huge challenge because I was visiting my boyfriend's mom. She is Pennsylvania Dutch and she's a great cook, but it isn't always so healthy and she expects me to eat so much. She's getting better at leaving me be when I say I am finished, though.

For my new activity, I tried yoga on Sunday morning. It was really good and my back felt great afterwards. I am hoping to be able to continue it each Sunday.

I fit in exercise by doing crunches and pushups during comercials at night because I like my primetime TV. If I am going to the gym, I need to do it right when I get home from work. Otherwise, all bets are off because I get distracted doing other things instead. I also find that playing with my dog any time is a great mini workout. We play tug of war and run around the house.

I commute for an hour each way, so there is two hours I lose each day. I wish I could workout in the car!

Good morning!

I'm in MD too! No rain or thunder yet here, just gloomy, chilly and damp outside. I did okay on Saturday but slipped some yesterday. Definitely getting back on track today though. I'm going to attempt power walking this morning, I will probably have to do it in intervals at first. Then I will come home and use the treadmill, my E-Force machine, and will dance holding my arm weights. Afterward, I may try the leg lift on my son's new weight bench.

Good Morning all,

I get my exercise in on the way home from work. I hit the gym every day for the 5pm class. But my kids are off in college so there's not much going on at home. There are step, pilates, and cardio sculpt. Then if I have time I will walk on Saturday and bike ride on Sundays.

Did ok food wise this week end. Went out for brunch after church and had half a cinamon roll. That's good for me so I will take it. Other than that I was really good.

have a great Monday.

If you are having trouble with carbs late at night, try to eat some protein. A stick of cheese with a piece of fruit can help curb the craving. If you are truly hungry, you should eat. Perhaps you should try to eat more at your last meal to get you through the night.

For me I eat, breakfast, a snack, lunch, a snack, and dinner, and a snack. My night snack is usually cheese and apple, or yogurt with granola and strawberries, a small cup of cereal or banana and peanut butter. My meals I try to keep around 400 calories and my snacks under 200. I balance it throughout the day for a total of 1600 calories.
