PM'd our weight in to Joanne.

Did the RealAge test earlier and it was quite a surprise. I knew I was out of shape but did not realize how much. Like I said earlier, we had been trying to get to the club to restart exercising and now I know that I really need to do it. Also started taking multivitamins about a month or so ago so hopefully that will also help.

We have five weeks to go before Hawaii and I am really hoping that this helps me feel more energetic and ready for all the hiking and snorkeling we will be doing.

Have a great weekend everyone!

The quiz said that I was three years younger than my age--however, I could be doing better if I didn't weigh so much. I'll try with this challenge to do better!:thumbsup2

Happy 1st day to everyone!!! I PM my weight (which scared the heck out of me!) but I am encourged by this thread.....I just orderd Core Rhythms and can't wait to get started on that. Looks cool and I always wanted to learn some basic latin dance moves.....

Starting WW tomorrow!!! Good luck and motivation to us all!!!

I took the realage quiz, my calendar age is 44.3 and my realage is 41.4. I need to eat more vegetables and fish and eat less red meat, exercise and strength train more and floss more often.
My DD saw the Slim in 6 infomercial and wanted me to order it for her and after researching it a bit I did and it came today, perfect timing  I am going to use it too. That will be a new exercise DVD for this weeks challenge!

Hi all, 1st day and may we all realize healthy weight loss!

Took the real age test, calendar is 46.8, real age 45.2. Better than I expected, but I know it will improve... need to watch the vitamins and such, and suggested I take some MORE quizzes.. when I can find time.

OFF we go!

I just finished with Slim in 6 a week ago - that's how I lost 7 of my 10 pounds :cheer2: . It's effective, even if she drives me a little nuts lol. She has a tendency to not be on the beat of the music - and the music is BAD. Luckily there is an option to turn it off so I just made my own playlist and use that...much better! I just started the next phase, Slim Series (also got the slim series express videos) and am excited that there's more videos/more variety.

Thought I'd introduce myself because I'm new to the board.
I'm Sam. I'm 16 and a junior in high school. I'm a chocoholic who doesn't really like to exercise. I want to lose about 20 pounds by the beginning of my senior year. :)

Just pm'd my weight. Tomorrow is when I'm officially starting to diet, because today was a bad day. I also plan to start back up on my walk away the pounds videos. They're really easy for me and I get a 3 mile workout in 45 minutes. I lost 5 pounds doing them regularly, but then stopped for some odd reason. But I'm excited to start getting healthy.

Have a great weekend everybody.:thumbsup2

Hi everyone,

we I did part of the challenge by taking hte real age test: very interesting.

Real Age: 49.1 years, calendar age: 51.9.

I need to be more accurate with my vitamin intake, eat less red meat, more fish, more vegetable, less sodium, more potassium, and Yes like others have mentioned it may be good to get a pet (can you say ?dog?). We used to be pet owners but since the last cat passed away we have not replaced her. We now get our pet "fix" when we baby sit our "grand Kitty". Zoe (grandkitty) is coming this week (Thursday) for a week. Should be fun and we do enjoy her.

We all have a fantastic beginning to BL5.

Hi everyone...

I did the realage test this morning, and my "realage" is 3.4 years older than my actual age. les red meat, more consistent exercise, but I got plusses for being in a happy marriage! I'll post a little more detail later - I don't have my results in front of me right now.

I'm actually a little bummed at the moment...I had to make chocolate chip cookies for a family gathering I'm going to tomorrow (special request from my FIL) and I had planned into my Weight Watcher point count for 2 cookies (or 2 cookies' worth of dough-I LOVE the dough). I ate about 5 cookies' worth of dough..on my FIRST day!!! :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

How am I going to do this???

OK, pity party over....at least tomorrow I will be raking leaves for a couple hours (the gathering is "cottage cleaning day")...

Hi,

I PM'ed my weight, took the RealAge test which said I was 1 year younger than my biological age. It said I can do better and weight is a big part of that.

Did not work out today. I went on a school field trip to Gettysburg and while we ate at a buffet, I made (mostly) healthy choices; salad with low cal dressing, fish, veggies. I allowed myself two treats; a piece of their cornbread, and a piece of banana cream pie. Considering my past behavior at buffets, I did real well.

While I didn't work out in my usual sense, we did some hiking on battlefield up and down steep hills.

My goal for tomorrow is to wake up have b-fast and get on the treadmill and my E-Force, then take a brisk walk.

Mary

THis sounds like fun, can you give me some details about what the dvd is like, what kind of dancing, etc. Thanks!
The dvd, dancing with the stars- cardio dance, has 4 different dances- the cha-cha, samba, paso doble, and the jive, that are separated into 10 minute segments, with a warm up and cool down. Ashly, Kym, and Max are the instructors, and you can choose to have them talking through it, or just music. If you do them all it's about 45 min, but there's a challenge that I haven't done yet. I just figured out this morning, that you can set it up to choose which dances you want and leave out the others, for a shorter workout. I used to do a lot of swing and country dancing, and loved it, so I'm enjoying it. It was only 15$ at target.

minniesBFF- I love the watp dvds and have been doing them since january. Just bought the dancing with the stars dvd for a change, and it's fun too.

It's great to see everyone here. I can feel the motivation, and those pounds will be falling off of us!!

I am a dancer. I don't plan to do it professionally, and its nothing too upbeat. We do tap, jazz and ballet. I love it, and by the end of an hour I feel like I got a pretty good workout.

My younger sister has the Byou dance/workout video by Sabrina Bryan from the cheetah girls. I'm going to try that out. I'm not really a hip hop dancer, so that should be a change for me.

Count me in!!!!
I just PM'd Joannel!!
I'm a little late, but I'm ready to go!!!!!
Thanks MJ!!

Hi all!!! :wave2:

I pm'd my weight in, and I"m ready to go!!! :woohoo:
I didn't do the age test though, because I haven't had time - I'll have to do that today.

I wanted to introduce myself, because I spend 98% of my time on the CB, and many of you here may not know me.

*My name is Sandy and I"m 37 years old. I have 2 girls that are ages 9 and 4, and I also have a wonderful DH that is a volunteer fireman and EMT in our town.

*I spend the majority of my time at my custom picture framing store in my town, and the girls spend a lot of time with me there. I started gaining weight last year when I opened this store, because I'm able to sit around alot, and I snack alot all day (I keep alot of snacks/food there for the girls).

*My goal with this thread is to shed some inches that I've gained before I bring the summer clothes out of the attic. I'm not interested in having a rock hard body, but I am interested in not buying new clothes because the old ones don't fit. I started working out again Monday, and I"m feeling great!!!!:woohoo: I'm really watching my sugars and carbs, because they make me feel terrible (I had some blood work done on Thursday to test for diabetes) so it's easy for me to cut that out of my diet. I have a hard time with portion control, because I have a pretty big appetite - so I'm working on that!!!

*I want to say good luck to all of us!!! :wizard:
I"m really looking forward to getting to know you all!!!
Also, if I don't post here everyday, it's not because I'm anti-social, I just don't have time. I give myself a 1/2 hour to post in the morning, and then I may post a tiny bit while I"m at work. I'll try to keep up as best I can, and I'll keep PMing my weight on Friday.

Have a good weekend everyone!!!

That is my biggest weakness also, just realize today is a new day and start again.

I have a wedding to go to today. I hope there is a good choice for me to make!

Hello out there! I am a newbie to the WISH board and the BL5. I joined looking for support, encouragement, and pointers.

I went to my Dr. in the beginning of February. She put me on a calorie counting diet, but I also must limit fat, sodium, carbs, and take in a certain amount of fiber and protein. I did awesome the first two months - I lost 32 pounds! But I have hit a plateau. I am yo yoing the same 5 ounces for the past 2.5 weeks. I am doing everything right - eating just as instructed, exercising, vitamins, drinking lots of water, etc. Nothing is working. I am getting frustrated and discouraged. I have read to mix up what I eat, but my problem is that there isn't much available that isn't processed or prepackaged - which I am staying away from due to the sodium. So, I am limited to lean meats/poultry, fish and fruits and veggies. Which thankfully I love all of that. I actually have no cravings, so I don't feel like I am depriving myself of anything. Plus, I am not really that hungry.

Any help, suggestions, motivation?

TIA!

have you tried changing up the exercising or are you doing the same thing every day?

Good Saturday morning. When I was talking to dh yesterday I realized that we had nothing scheduledd for the entire weekend:dance3: :dance3: This never happens. It is almost 9 Am and I don't have anywhere to be. Dh just left to do somethings at his sister's house. Ds is supposed to mow the back yard. I guess I could clean the house but why waste that on a day with nothing to do. We can't decide to go to a movie tonight or not. There is one I think ds and dh would like but I don't think I would like the jokes. Who knows it is a night out. We'll see.

Don't forget that the challenge started this morning. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Have a magical losing daypixiedust: pixiedust:

Hey everyone - i just took the real age test. My age is 38.8 and my real age was 35.9.

I can do better by taking vitamins and flossing more - pretty cool test.

Good morning!

I am off to a good start today. I have a question though that maybe some of you can help with.

My problem seems to be in the evenings. Late evening, bedtime. I tend to crave carbs at these hours and I wanted to know if others have this issue and what helps beat these cravings.

What seemed to work the other day to a ceertain degree was to skip my lunchtime Slimfast shake, eating a South Beach wrap and salad for luinch instead. Then I saved the Slimfast shake for evening, (I make mine with powder in the blender with ice so it is thick and full). But I wanted to know if anyone else had some other tips that might work better.

Thanks!

Mary
