I am ready to join in the fun. Having a group of others to encourage will be helpful.
My DD uptown_girl44 has already joined, so that is even more incentive.

Welcome Vicki! So nice to see you and Vanessa joining in.

I took the real age test too... my calendar age is 29.6 but my real age is 30.8. Like HiddenMickeys it told me to do all the stuff I know I should be doing but I'm not... It also told me to floss (which i don't do very often...with 3 kids and an in-home daycare some days i am just thankful that i have enough time to brush my teeth and shower, lol!) It also told me to buy a dog!! :lmao:

I just took the RealAge Test and I am at 46.8 and I am at 52.9 right now.:yay: I guess I am doing something right.

Hi, everyone seems to be so eager, I am hoping this will help to motivate me to try something new. I seem to be stuck in a rut with everything. I did the realage test and I and am 44 years old and my real age is 39.5 so I guess that is good.

My goal is to eat better and get in better shape, I go to the gym lots but the workouts need some get up and go if you know what I mean.

Good Luck to everyone.

Lisa

Took the test....

Calendar Age
49.3

My RealAge
51.9

Oy!! I guess what I can do is keep doing what I'm doing. Losing weight and exercising should help with that.

I took the test this morning, but have not gotten the results e-mailed to me. Is there another way I can get the results?

In any case, I know that my main problems are that I do not eat enough vegetables and I need to exercise more. I went to Walmart today and got some V8 Fusion to try. It has the fruits and vegetables in it that I need.

ETA: I pulled the site back up and the results were there. Calendar age: 33.3 Real age: 31.9

I need to be consistent with my multivitamin and work on strength training.

Hello out there! I am a newbie to the WISH board and the BL5. I joined looking for support, encouragement, and pointers.

I went to my Dr. in the beginning of February. She put me on a calorie counting diet, but I also must limit fat, sodium, carbs, and take in a certain amount of fiber and protein. I did awesome the first two months - I lost 32 pounds! But I have hit a plateau. I am yo yoing the same 5 ounces for the past 2.5 weeks. I am doing everything right - eating just as instructed, exercising, vitamins, drinking lots of water, etc. Nothing is working. I am getting frustrated and discouraged. I have read to mix up what I eat, but my problem is that there isn't much available that isn't processed or prepackaged - which I am staying away from due to the sodium. So, I am limited to lean meats/poultry, fish and fruits and veggies. Which thankfully I love all of that. I actually have no cravings, so I don't feel like I am depriving myself of anything. Plus, I am not really that hungry.

Any help, suggestions, motivation?

TIA!

OK, my calendar age is 34 and my real age is 39. I'm not too surprised but will take the recommendations to heart. I don't take any vitamins now and that was a biggie on there...anyone have suggestions?

Have you tried changing up your workouts? Doing the same thing for too long can definitely cause a plateau.

What?!

IMO, there is so much MORE available since you aren't limited to the frozen food aisle. Check out the community board on here for some new recipes. There is a such a variety of foods you can make using lean chicken, pork, turkey, and fish with every kind of veggie. Also look at sparkpeople.com for more recipes. Don't be afraid to try something new!

I took the RealAge test I am 41 it told me I was 36.7 so that was pretty good my BMI & family history of Breast Cancer hurt me.

Good morning.

I'm feeling motivated to stick with ww for this challenge, and to keep up with the exercise. I just got the dancing with the stars exercise dvd, and though I look like a total goofball, I've done it the past two mornings, and am soaked with sweat by the end. Maybe if I keep it up, I'll even be able to follow the steps one day. It's fun too. I used to do a lot of country dancing, and some swing dancing, so a couple of the dances were easier than the others.

Spring is finally here in MA, with get out and move motivation. We can do this!! Good luck everyone!!

I have this too. I've only done it a few times but I love it. I also feel silly but I don't care. It's a great workout.:thumbsup2

Here we go. I checked mapquest and it is exactly 1044 miles from my house to port canaveral. I have 232 days until my cruise. So starting today my goal is to do 4.5 miles a day on my treadmill, and by the day I leave for my cruise I will have walked from My house in Southern NJ to the cruise ship! Doesn't seem so hard when I break it down into 4.5 miles a day. ;) DW has also been inspired by you all and she will be hitting the treadmill along with me. :woohoo:

Good luck everyone! I think this is the kick in the butt a lot of us needed. :thumbsup2

I'm walking that way too! I am 1025 from WDW and our trip is in Dec. I think I'm at about 90 miles down so far. I need to be averaging 4-5 a day to make it in time, I think. If we move our dates to Sept I'd really have to get walking. There's a walking our way to WDW thread on WISH as well if you want to join us!

Ouch - I am 49.6 and the RealAge told me I was 54.7

Here's what's right - happy marriage, healthy resting heart rate, nonsmoker, daily breakfast, social network and stress.

Here's what's not - low fruit and vegetable intake, lack of exercise (hello, I knew that!), vehicle size (WHAAAT?), high BMI (again, hello part of the reason I am here!)

I was feeling really good until I got the results. Now I'm bummed. Plus as I mentioned on the original thread - I have TWO family parties tomorrow. I know it is all about choices and I am in control, but a something like the real age test will 'allow' me to say I'm a failure and give up. Don't let me, we haven't even started!

I can do it, I can do it. help

I feel your pain. I wish I had words of wisdom for the parties...my WW magazine came today so I'm borrowing this tidbit:

Just one double-dipper at a party adds about 10,000 bacteria to a container of food. Avoid the dips. ;)

Seriously, hang in there and good luck!

Hey Carole,
I was going to send you a PM about this group to see if you were interested in joining since our cruise is only 85 days away but I guess great minds think a like :cool1: . I have been trying to lose weight for this trip since last year and have lost about 48lbs but have really stalled out since spring break. I am hoping this gets me back on track and I can lose even more before the cruise :yay: .

Susan

Hi Susan,

48 lbs is fantastic! That's a great accomplishment. Bet I won't recognize you. I started WW a few weeks ago and lost almost 12 lbs. Have been kind of slacking off recently so I'm hoping this challenge gets me motivated again.

Thanks, 12lbs in a few weeks is great  keep up the good work. I did really well during the winter which is when I took off most of my weight. Starting in March I really started to get off track. I am hoping this will motivate me and get me going again. I was hoping to go down one more size before the cruise.

Keep up the good work,
Susan

Ok I just pmed my weight and since I have been in denial for so long about my weight I was a little shocked so I am soooo excited to start this!! Hopefully I can stick with it and look great for my cruise in 1-09!!!

Robyn

I'm really looking forward to this and hoping to stay motivated. I work entirely too much which can be a problem with maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Today I started a "Weekly Health Challenge" club at work so we can all keep each other motivated! Also, this gives me more accountability. I'm too prone to "run and hide":rolleyes1 but if I'M THE ONE who's heading it up, I HAVE to stick with it!!
