way to go all you losers! I have to confess that I have only watched the TV Biggest Loser, um, once....last year....so have no idea really how this works, LOL!! But I know you guys did great to be on this weeks short list, so I congratulate you all! :worship:

I hope to join you next week, (this was my first week, so no gain or loss for me.) Are the percentages calculated each week, or total? I should go set the TIVO to watch some of the shows! :goodvibes

My victory so far is that I went to the gym today (60 minutes treadmill, 3 sets of 20 crunches, stretching and lower ab work) and it felt great, I was worried because I had laprascopic surgery December 18th, but I felt fine doing my crunches! I also stayed on plan with my WW points for the past 2 days since I started the challenge.

percentages are calculated on a weekly basis. At the end of the challenge a winner will be named based on total lost/initial weight.

Question of the Day
Do you remember what you were doing when it hit you that being at this weight is enough? Was it a pair of jeans that didn't fit...an airplane seat...or simply an overall sense of not feeling right....etc???
I was dreading having to share a room with another mom on the school bad trip. I challanged my self to be under 200 pounds by the trip. Which meant I had 5 months to lose 40 pounds. I reached that goal and kept going.
 
I did good today! I worked out for 55 minutes doing cardio and abs.

Go, you! I did 4 miles in 50 minutes yesterday, so 3 miles at a dawdlesome pace (same 50 minutes :D ) today.

I really need to add some weight work, and keep putting it off until there's money in the budget. My car ate $365 of the budget today (woke up to a 6" crack in the windshield due to freeze + defrost) after $169 last week (scheduled maintenance), so another couple months of walking it will be. :P

since I am AGAIN, one day late for the QOTD my reponse is short and sweet!

planning a family trip to WDW and didn't want to be the "fat" lady in the pix - successfully lost 35 pounds and I wasn't - first time I really ever remember thinking that I "wanted" to be included in the pixs!!

WOW - this group ROCKS !

Questions of the Day

What have you gotten lately that is just for you? If we are nice to ourselves then how can we nice to other people.

My sons geve me a yoga mat and some yoga bricks for Christmas. I had asked for these. They also got me some exercise bands


I am struggling to get on track. I don't know why. Maybe it is the crazy week. Have had a lot of issues with a group dh and I work with. Had a long meeting last night and nothing was resolved. I also have a change in my work schedule comng up on MOnday and I am getting concerned about it. I have known it was coming since the begining of the year but now the time to do it is here. I will be losing a small geometry class and taking over an AP Calc class from someone who is going on maternity leave. The class I am losing is 14 kids. The class I am getting is 26. It is going to be a lot more work and I have to learn all those names. (I am terrible with names). Iguess I have too many things on my mind.

Thank you guys for inspiring me. My eating hasn't been as good as it could be but there have been several times when I stopped myself because I thought of all the hard work everyone is doing here.

Keep up all the encouragement.

Congrats Annette! Great job! Annette isn't my BL buddy but she is a friend from the cruise board and we've sailed together a few times!

Speaking of BL buddies - I have a wonderful one in Jana. She has really been an inspiration to me. :flower3:

Well it isn't weight related but it is just for me and I love it. DH suggested I get a photo printer for my scrapbooking. I used to do a lot of digital scrapbooking and do more montages on 8 1/2 x 11 paper which worked great on our regular printer. I've now gotten into more traditional scrapbooking using regular size photos. I love this little printer and I love the fact that I've been able to get back into scrapbooking a bit.

let's see - just for me? I went and got my bike fixed with new tires and have started to ride it each am or pm or perhaps both.


Nice for others: at least once a week I got to Einstein's Bagels and get a box and some spread for the office. I let them know so that they don't et b/fast before they get to work.
 
QOTD - This one is easy. I just bought (& they came yesterday!!!) DAISY wheels for my car!!! I drive an orange convertible Beetle & these wheels are white daisies with yellow centers. Now I just need time to go tire shopping & get them put on!!

Off to Dr this morning, then probably nap as last night was horrible. Bed at 11after DD came in from All State Choir, Then up at 12:15 to take DS21 to work, up at 1:30 when DS18 came in from work, & up again at 5:15 to get DD up for another day of choir.

QOTD: well, not something I "got" just for me, but something I'm "doing" just for me. Next Wednesday my sister and I are off to Canyon Ranch for 5 days of pampering, nutritional guidance, and exercise! So, I guess what I'll "get" is time for me to bond with DSis and focus on ME!

QOTD- for me? nothing too busy making sure my kids had a good Christmas and got them back off to college. Some day Mom will come first.

Did 60 min step- 20 on the bike and 20 on weights. I hope I can make the top ten next week. Have to be good over the week end.

Okay, I too am late with my questions. I was either working or at the gym yesterday.

My aha moment? My best friend joined WW and did amazing. After she lost weight, we could not shop together in the "plus size" stores and I had no one to help rationalize by bad eating. She was my motivation.

What I have I gotten just for me? This summer I bought a condo. I had been living in apartments for 10 years and felt that it was time. I painted almost every wall in the house and refused to leave any white! My favorite room is the Mickey Mouse bathroom!!!

I'm still working at this challenge. I've stayed in my points, gone to the gym and drank my water for two days! Unfortunately, the scale is not moving. :sad2: I know that it will eventually.

QOTD - What have I done for me......well I'm leaving on a girls trip to Disney Saturday morning but that's for DD also - but the one on one time with her will be great. I need to take some time just for me though.

Everyone did so great last week. Keep up the good work. I plan on attending a WW meeting while I'm in Florida to keep me on track. And I'm not going to be crazy about staying on plan but I'm going to do my best.

For myself....I love myself for the first time...inside first...now working on the outside. That is the best gift I could have ever given myself.

I used to shop and buy garbage I didn't need and I realized thatall this stuff I accumulated was never going to make me happy. I have really cut buying almost anything...shop thrift stores for what I can ...save tons of money and plan on spending it on a trip to Disney this December. I stay away from stores and send my son to get the essentials. A 17 year old will not shop at Target for household frills! ;) Plus if I give him cash...no check is being written for the cart full of crap I usually would convince myself was a good deal.

This is also the best gift...thing I can do for someone else....teach my kids financial responsibility and that they do not need instant gratification. I bring cash with on shoppping trips now...buy what is on the list and if I see something I think I need and does not fit my cash budget...I need to wait 24 hours to decide if I really want it and then will give myself permission to get it.
Sorry for such a long post but the truth is...I shopped to make myself feel better just like I ate to make myself comforted. I can't tell ya how many times I bought something and took it back whe I realised I did not need it or couldn't afford it. That guilt was not a good thing and just like food guilt...it is a viscious cycle.

QOTD: What do I do for me? I am eating betting and exercising so that I can be a healthier person because I deserve to be a healthier person. Next to that, I treat myself with little things when I hit my mini weight loss goals. When I hit the 25 pound mark, I registered for the knitting class that I wanted to take to learn how to knit cables. I can't wait to take it. I find that taking the time to learn about something that interests you is much more rewarding than buying stuff... but that is just me.
