QOTD Well- One thing that was new for me that I did just for me on our WDW trip over Christmas week was to order some groceries to be delivered to our unit ahead of time. It was so nice to walk into our unit with groceries already stocked and waiting so we could start right in with enjoying our trip. :thumbsup2 I just might have to do that again. Hmmm maybe a once in awhile treat at home too. I hear Safeway delivers I wonder how much they charge. It least then I would stick to the list and not be tempted to add to it with all the other stuff you see.

I have been absolutely rollercoasering the past couple of days. BUT as I read the replies of the "aha" moments, I became somewhat sad. I am sitting here eating culvers, (ok ate it) and I was so sad, I avoided McDonalds, but replaced it with culvers. I am so sick and tired of being fat. I am just in tears after reading what everyone wrote, but in an odd way... reading everyone's aha moments, coupled with the challenge, it hit me.... I CAN DO THIS, and there is no time like the present! Sort of an "aha" moment from the "Aha" moments. :

Thank you again for the honesty...I am so glad I sent the question because i was hesitant at first....do I want to share that private info about me???

Reading all of those A-Ha's was very motivating and moving and I read some to my oldest son...I want him to always understand what words and actions can do to others and our own worst shortcomings don't need to be pointed out by others...we know them too painfully already.

Just back from the Dr. Gosh you guys are fast!!!! Tough keeping up with the reading!!!

Love this week's challenge, but I'll have to hunt for something new to try. Tried a BUNCH during BL3. Hope I can remember which ones!

Dr about had a fit as the last Dr I saw on 12/18 & this Dr use different scales & it showed I was down 10.4 lbs !! NOT!!!!!!!!!! Went to WW on 12/20 & again this morning & I'm actually down 2.4. Would have been nice!!!

She wasn't too concerned about my nodes, but said my thyroid is borderline enlarged. I'm NOT thrilled ....especially with the nodes & hoarse voice, although I can easliy link those to the crud DD & I had/have. Time will tell...... Hopefully the new antibiotics will help!!

Does anyone else get the feeling like they are starving right before their period? I am in that mode and I just want to jump out of my skin right now I'm so hungry. Anyone have any ideas of what I could eat that would fill me up without going overboard on the fat and calories?

I know what you mean Poohluv2u, I'll be starting anytime and I feel like I'm snacking constantly.

Will being with Flo make my weightloss not so great? I mean in general, all my snacks have been healthy but I am tired and like I said snacking alot...
 
PRINCESS VIJA-reading about you in tears put me in tears! This is really hard for me too. I realized to that I just need to stop eating so much period. Fast food, junk food, chips, ice cream, everything. I knew it would be hard but I didn't think about the cravings. Last night it took every bit of willpower not to eat something sweet. This board is a HUGE help. I wish I had more time to be on here. It also moves to fast I can't read every post and I feel bad about that. I have nver told anyone my weight. Not a single person. It was really hard telling you guys. How weird is that? I didn't even want to tell a stranger on the internet that I will never met. I'm so embarrassed of myself. I guess for me this has been my wake up moment.


poohluv2u-I too had a really big craving for sweets just before my period. I had a hysterectomy about 6 months ago and I thought that the pms symptoms would go away but they didn't. It bummed me out! I guess its because they left one ovary in?

Ok onto the QoTD- The best thing I have done for myself lately is join this board.

I have a massage training school in my city (5 mins from my house even...........) and the students need the practice, so the massages are $25 for an hour! Yes- that is a wonderful price BUT in December there was a special buy 4/$100 and get 6 - one hour certificates!! 2 free -I love a bargain and talk about a gift that will give "to me" all year long...............:thumbsup2 Also, if one decides on the 1 1/2 hour session, it's just $10 more and hot stone extra $5... got my first appt set for January 25th! Another great feature is they did not put names on certificates, so if I choose to share - no problem - and what a gift!

P V - I plan to maximize the challenge too - I know for sure I have to really pay attention that I am drinking enough H20 and I will see what I can find in the way of fruits - ohMom mentioned figs, boy, I don't think I have had them since I was a really young girl - so that is long ago enough that I am counting "never" had :rotfl2:

Hi! New to this group and challenge. Glad to find a group of motivated friends to chat with.
I am looking forward to trying this week's challenge. DH does the grocery shopping, so I put down to buy some vegetables/fruit he didn't know what were. Hope I can figure out what to do with what he gets, lol!
What have you gotten lately that is just for you? If we are nice to ourselves then how can we nice to other people.
Well, I have an advantage for this one, yesterday was my birthday. Besides having a long bath with my new bubblebath and lotion stuff. I met a friend at her gym where I got to sign up for a free three month membership, went to Weight watchers meeting, picked up some movies at Hollywood Video with free gift cerficates, then out to lunch at Fresh Choice.
 
Oh and I wanted to add, that I plan on rockin' the challenge this week!:cool1: :thumbsup2 I am going for the max... anyone joining me?


On a sidenote, I will be the one tabulating the points for the challenge, I think I will do the same as Brenda is doing and I will post the weekly winners, but I will keep track and post the top point earners for the entire challenge as well!

So lets get out there and do something healthy for us!:yay:

I'm game for trying them all! My downfall may be the new fruits/veg one. I could probably find the veggies easily enough, but it will be a challenge to find the fruits. If textures similar to a tomato are an issue, does anyone have any suggestions?

Best of luck this week P V. You can do it!! Subway make take a few minutes longer on the way home, but oh the rewards you'll reap from the choice. Go for it! :cheer2:

Last Friday i took a day to myself and went shopping. I spent about 2.5 hours at the mall and used my giftcards i got for X-mas!!! I had a BLAST with myself!! I got alot of clothes for a little amount at NY AND COMPANY. Treated my self to a Non fat Chai tea latatte from Starbucks. and just walked around and people watched. All in all a very relaxing night... Might do it every Friday!!!

I have been following the WW point system and have started using popcorn as my "filling" snack when I'm hungry but can't stand to think of eating another veggie! You can eat 6 cups of the 96-98% fat free microwave popcorn as a snack and it only counts as 4 points (I think- I don't have my point book in front of me right now.)

QOTD: I go on a girls only weekend once a year with my mom, sisters and sister-in-laws. On a smaller basis, I try to take time each day to read, even if it is only for 15 minutes. It keeps me sane!

This challenge looks great, but I can't eat fruit! Darn it.

I actually HATE veggies, but there are a ton of the atkins induction list that are allowed, so I guess I better learn to try them...

The veggie part and the water part will be the actual challenge for me, the rest of the I do very well every day thank god!

What I do for myself huh.....well some might not find this for myself but.......Wednesday nights the girls go to there fathers....DBF is also usually stuck about 2 hours away on Wednesday nights with his truck...... I get up and drop the girls off at school Wednesday and then drive to the truck stop he is at...and spend the day/night and then thursday morning with him in the truck. It's our sanity time, which is more for me than for him. There is no distractions and I basically can do whatever I want for those 36 hours that I want, he never tells me no :confused3

Okay off to look at the veggie list
