Big changes coming to Fantasyland

thanks for posting....
Princess area, cute!!
two eating places in MK, WooHoo I say!! (Tavern and a sit down!) :thumbsup2

I have a new baby girl, and she will be the perfect princess age when all this is finished! My older dd will be 12, but will probably still be excited by this! My son (who will be 15)-not so much!

I don't know... them princesses are perty cute?

ooohhh. The timing is perfect for when we take our baby granddaughter. Dd will have a ball introducing her niece to all the princesses!

Someone asked about the other rides in Fantasy Land, and I was wondering that too. What will happen to Peter Pan and Pooh?

Gaston's Pub? Did I hear?

so... no beer in a pub? Or will there be beer in the magic kingdom? Or would it be ale?

I guess I'm trying to block that thought from my mind-I'm still having a hard time thinking of him as a 15 yr old!:scared1: He'll be happy to see an updated Star Tours, though.:goodvibes

The new areas do look very cute. It will be a welcome change for MK. I am no doubt being too picky, but I did not like the fact that they used the idea that the villians are for the boys? Are all boys evil and love evil things?? :rotfl: I am a mom to two young boys who can be rascals at times but they have no interest in the villians. Not sure what that was about in the article.

I do hope this is not all for Disney World. I was really looking forward to an expansion of Pixar Place in DHS. We always thought that Pixar products were the major money maker for Disney. I suppose those cute little girls milk thier parents out of more money when the princesses are around. So I guess it will be DL in 2012 for the boys and DW in 2013 for the princess in me.princess:

:thumbsup2 very cool!

I can't wait for the Little Mermaid ride!

I don't see much to interest us since we don't have little girls in the family. If they do something meaningful with the villains, that might be interesting.

I am pleased to see that Star Tours will be redone though.

Interesting that Minnie and Mickey will be given houses close to the entrance of the park per the Orlando article. Where in the world would that be?

I wonder if they will get actual houses or just a permanent spot for meet & greets?

I think it's very exciting! But help me here, other than moving Dumbo, the other Fantasyland rides stay? (Small World, Peter Pan, Pooh, Philharmagic, tea cups, etc.) They are expanding the area so there is still room for all these and the new things, right? (Can you tell I am worried?)

That seems really cool- but also kind of bittersweet. Fantasyland was the first part of the park I worked, and I still picked up shifts there after going into entertainment. It definitely won't be the same Fantasyland I know and love.

I know. I'm worried also. Philharmagic is a big Fav. I think they said that they were bulldozing Toontown and using that area. Goofy's Barnstormer will stay but be re-themed to Dumbo.

This sounds great but once again Boys get left behind. I have all boys. They love Disney World but Disney seems to consistantly forget them. Its all Princesses all the time. What about boys??? You can't tell me that they can't create rides or attractions geared towards boys~ adventure , villians, thrill rides. As a result of being overlooked my boys are looking forward to Harry Potter World and keep asking to go there. Disney better wake up. Parents of boys are getting tired of the cold shoulder.

:thumbsup2

This is what I was going to say. What about the boys? They do exist, right? Disney is aware of them, I hope. I guess it's all about the money. Princesses sell.

Disney just bought Marvel. It'll take a bit of time to get all the licensing (a/k/a Universal) worked out. But, I'm sure in the future, we'll see more "boy"/superhero's in the parks.

I know people were suggesting that this is just one of the reasons for Disney's purchase of Marvel. I don't know how it will all play out, but it makes sense to me.

Maybe on Main Street? They've got some store fronts that seem to change frequently and space behind so they could fit something in there.

Anyone have any idea when the construction will begin? Or has it already?

Just curious.

What rock have I been living under!?! This is the first I've heard of it! I'm excited and already thinking of when we can go to check it out. This trip will be spent taking tons of photos of the old Fantasy Land.
