No more blackforest cake. Unbelievable. Or almond cookies.

I'm sorry if this has already been posted, and I am equally sorry if I have to be the one to let you know.

Blackforest cake has been replaced by a generic chocolate mousse cake, nothing particularly German about it. I am speechless.

For a second I thought you were going to say they ran out of beer! :scared1:

Honestly,I didn't care for the Black Forest Cake. Now,if they got rid of the Apple Strudel I would have a fit!!

It seems that so many Disney restaurants are getting so generic. How disappointing!

I was outraged over the lack of hefeweissen on draft at the Biergarten. They had it in Dec 2007 when I was there, but not now. Such a travesty!!!

Oh No!!!!!

It looks like I'll have to have the Optimator instead...Oh well:banana:

I've beento Biergarten 8 times since it became a buffet(once before) and have yet to have any dessert. I'll eat sauerbraten and shnitzel till I pop, then fill in the edges with MORE BEER.

Whether you like Black Forest cake or not, I think the important point being made is that it's a very traditional German dessert and its absence is another sign of the menus at WDW becoming more and more generic...even at an ethnic restaurant. That seems to be crossing a line. We're not just talking counter service desserts any more.

I agree! I like the vanilla sauce that goes with it. The cheesecake isn't too shabby, either. :)

Oh,I LOVE Black Forest Cake. I've actually had it IN the black Forest(in the restaurant at the bottom of the mountain that Neuschwanstein is on). I just didn't lke the kind that Biergarten served, but I get your point about the menus at WDW becoming more generic.

Wow...this was good. I grew up a Purdue fan and I'm a 1998 graduate from Purdue and never came across this one. Classic.

Off Topic:
1) Purdue undergrad, here, too.
2) Plus, Wisconsin and Tennessee postgrad.

exactly!!!!

i thought their desserts were lacking before the changes, they had the least desserts of everywhere we ate (buffets) on our whole trip.

I LOVED the desserts there when we went in November. I thought they had the best quality desserts out of all the buffets we have been too. I'm gonna be really bummed if they don't have it there in June. Do they sell it outside?
