I was hoping someone could tell me the difference between Biergarten lunch vs dinner. I would like to know the cost of each and menu changes. I'm trying to decide which one to book.

I've always done lunch at Biergarten but I think with our plans it might be better to do dinner. I was hoping someone could sway me in a direction!

Yes thank you, I was also hoping to hear others personal experience with either lunch or dinner and which did they prefer.

Our favorite meal "experience" every trip. We always do lunch as I feel you can walk off most of the food you ingested in the afternoon. Oh who am I kidding, we do lunch because it is cheaper.

I did dinner there two weeks ago and it was great! I've never been for lunch but I would definitely recommend dinner.

We have dined at Biergarten many times and typically choose lunch for the savings. I asked one of the chefs what the difference was between lunch and dinner and he told me the soup is the only thing that changes.

We ate there for the first time last fall. After the trip, I realized that my favorite thing there (sauerbraten) is only on the dinner menu. I was going to book lunch reservations for our next trip to save money. Now I can't because I don't want to miss the sauerbraten.

The braised beef roulades are another item available at dinner but not at lunch. That is my favorite item on the buffet, and when we opted for the cheaper lunch the last time we went, I had just assumed it would be available...but alas... Even so, it's definitely a little cheaper at lunch, and there is still plenty of food to enjoy, so there are pros and cons to both. I would say that whichever meal fits the rest of your schedule best...go with your gut.

We have done both and they are both great! The only difference is that dinner seems to have a couple of extra good items on the menu. We find plenty to eat at lunch though. We haven't really missed the other items when we go for lunch. Our decision between lunch and dinner at Biergarten, is just based on how it fits into our plans.

Yessss..... good for either, we always try for a late lunch tho too.... whichever you choose it's wonderful.

Could you book the latest possible lunch time so that you'd likely still be there when they started putting out the dinner extras? (Like some people do at Tusker House with the breakfast and lunch changeover.)

That's a good idea, however, lunch ends at 3:10 and dinner starts at 4:00. I just went to Disney's website to check.

I compared both menus, and these items were listed on the dinner menu and were not on the lunch menu:

Dinner only "Braised Beef Roulades; Sauerbraten (Marinated Pot Roast); Potato Dumplings with Bread Crumb Butter; Herring Salad Schleswig Holsteiner Style"

I am finding ADRs as late as 3:00. First, my one time eating here (dinner - post-marathon), we were not seated on time but given a timer to wait for about 15-20 minutes, so unless it is a completely dead time you're there, I'd guess you'll wait a few minutes before being seated. And second, they surely don't expect people who have ADRs at 3:00 to eat and be done in 10 minutes.

I'd think it would be worth trying to get a 3:00 ADR and try it. Unless the ONLY two (or four) things you'll eat are what is on the dinner menu (in which case, honestly why pay that much only for four items?), I'd think it's worth a try.

Yes! Thats usually the reason we always chose Lunch.

Thank you both for your input! This trip I wanted to focus on Food & Wine, but my Boyfriend will not budge since this is his favorite place ever! So I was thinking perhaps Dinner would be a compromise when we hop to epcot later at night. I think he will be excited to know that there are different foods available that people really love. That I think will be exciting for both of us to try a new experience at our favorite place.

I think this trip that will be what makes our decision is how it fits into our hopping and plans for the week. We find Lunch to be amazing everytime so even though theres only a few changes I'm excited to try them.

Thank you for this! I was stuck at work trying to view the menus on my tiny iphone and was going crazy. Thanks so much for listing them out!

My favorite at the Biergarten is ordering a brat or two along with a large Cold Beer and sitting in the seating area outside, people watching and waiting for the clocks do their thing!

I definitely agree that both are great and just do whatever fits into your plans best - you'll love it!

That's a tough one. Depending on how many days you have and plan to spend at Epcot for F&W, it would be tough to try to eat around the world AND justify a meal at Biergarten. As a buffet, I tend to want to get maximum "bang for my buck," which wouldn't leave much room for food kiosks around F&W. There's a lot of good food at F&W. As much as I enjoy Biergarten, I would be inclined to skip it and enjoy F&W, especially if you are only planning to spend on evening at F&W. Maybe let your boyfriend get an extra brat at the Germany F&W kiosk for his troubles!

We have done dinner and felt (1) the meal was basically the same for a lot more money (2) we were so stuffed and unable to walk it off enough before bed. So for years now we always do lunch, save money, walk it off and not feel like a stuffed sausage when we go to bed.

We have a few times done a very late lunch (2:30-3) and not sure the strategy worked well as we hoped since (1) they closed half the buffet line so we always had to stand in a long line to get our refills (2) other line and dinner items never showed up (3) food was not as quickly replenished as it was for earlier lunches.
