BF frustrated with my dog. UPDATE

Thanks, I was thinking that. I'm not really thinking too clearly though...pretty hurt right now.

These are huge red flags!! I missed them in my marriage. Seriously, the dog has peed twice in the house and he wants you to move out if it continues?? What if you have children with him? As trivial as it sounds, this is a big indicator of how he will handle the not-so-good things.

Never trust a man who doesn't like animals.

ETA: So sorry to hear of your dog's diagnosis. Glad to see your bf has come around, this may be a turning point for him.

It was 5x and he was really really frustrated. Things have calmed down since my original post. I think a lot of it was in the heat of the moment. He's cried as much if not more than I have over the dog. He has a cat too. We have no plans for kids. Yes, I'm still watching for how he reacts to certain situations, but he seems to have calmed down and 360'ed in the right direction for now.

Thanks for the input. It is all being taken into consideration. Right now I'm just focusing on a sick dog.

I am truly sorry to hear to hear about your dog's diagnosis. Take comfort in that you've given him a very long and wonderful life and you couldn't have done any better for him.

MouseJunkie, I'm really sorry about the diagnosis. Your dog is lucky to have an owner like you who cares so much for him.

Dear MouseJunkie,

I can so sympathize with you. I was in your place this time last year. My beloved Scottie girl had recurrent UTIs. She had a weakened immune system. An ultrasound revealed a polyp in her bladder. We did do surgery and she was started on a medication called piroxicam. It is a medication that can have chemotherapy-type properties when used to treat transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) aka bladder cancer. This can help some dogs. If this has been prescribed for your dog, please research this drug. This medication destroyed my dog's kidneys and she passed from kidney failure. If your dog is taking this medicine make sure you watch for vomiting and loss of appetite.

I am sending you both prayers and hugs--both to your dog and to you. This is a hard road. I hope you have many more days together.
