Hi Bev,
What stores will you be visiting when you are in Orlando?
DH actually suggested yesterday that maybe I should visit some scrapbooking stores while we are there on vacation in November!! He knows that I love to scrap and is verry supportive and takes a interest in my hobby-even gives me ideas and suggestions!
So if we do have some free time while there I might try and visit a store or two!
]I have a current copy of Memory Makers magazine and a couple of Orlando area stores were listed so I have emailed them to see how far they are from disney as we are staying onsite. How many stores do you know of? Are any really close to WDW and easy to get to?
I would love to hear about your scrap shopping experiences once you return!

I'm hoping to hear a review of the stores at breakfast on the 14th :D

That way I'll know whether I should make a trip to some while we are there!

Janette - I would be happy to give you a review and display of appropriate purchases made!

I went to this store last year - it's a HUGE stamping store with a small section of scrapbooking stuff - about 1/4 of the store is for scrapping- if you are interested in stamping then it's a must see store, otherwise I probably wouldn't bother unless I was passing

She also had Michaels and Joanna's on the list .

Michaels is just off I-4 near Universal Studios
http://www.michaels.com
6725 S. Kirkman Rd., International Festival
Orlando, FL 32819
(407) 226-1134
You can print off a map online - and they have their ads online too, not sure if you could print off the coupon if it appeared or not.

Orlando, FL 32803-5147

and I was sent a map and some notes, which I scanned and put on my website, as this seems to be a popular question!
they are here

They are large files so that you can read them clearly, but, for some reason when I view it is displays small, but if you click on it, then a button appears that makes it bigger - I've no idea why, I haven't done that.

here's the map

That's a great list Bev!

I can't wait to hear all about it! Maybe I'll have some time to get to the stores sometime the next week. :)

Bev, You have done a great job of seeking and mapping out scrapbook stores in the Disney area. There is actually a book called Scrapbook stores across America (or something like that). I glanced at it but it didn't interest me as I am so spoiled having a LSS so close to me. Many people seek out LSSs while traveling. There is a lady I have met at my LSS that travels extensively and always seeks out a store. She has many different and unique items. Maybe we should start our own LSS thread of stores we have visited along with a review.

Here is my LSS

Chessie, I just asked on my UKScrappers list if anyone knew of a good LSS in Orlando, and this lovely lady sent me a map and a 2 page letter with all the store descriptions- I was truely amazed!

I phoned one of the stores, as I was looking for a particular album and the woman asked me if I was somebody (Can't remember the name) and said - Oh, I heard your accent and assumed it must be this lady, as she comes over here from the UK to shop every other month! I was truely amazed.

some of the stores on the list are quite far from Orlando, but for people travelling from the UK for 2 or more weeks, it's more feasible to travel 50 miles for a day trip, whereas if you are just in WDW for a couple of days, than it's not really practical.
