Best Time in February?

Hi everyone!

This is the first time I've been on these boards. I read a few while I was planning our trip, and you all are SO helpful that I was hoping you could help me with this question.

We are actually supposed to be in WDW right now, but my son got very sick, so we've postponed the trip. We were trying to look at the bright side and figure that it probably won't be as crowded if we go in February after he has recovered from surgery. The people we are going with want to go during President's week or Casmir Pulaski (end of Feb) to minimize the number of days their kids are out of school. I realize both times will be pretty crowded, but any suggestions on which we be better?

I apologize if someone recently asked this question. Thanks for your help!!

I would say that for maximum enjoyment DO NOT GO DURING SCHOOL VACATION WEEK if possible. We have gone the first or second week in February- always before Valentine's Day- a few times and the crowds were always light. If your son is recovering from surgery you want him to be able to enjoy himself, not spend most of his time in lines.

First of all...prayers heading your way for your son's fast recovery.

My family is going February 8-12 (and running before the Pres. Week crowds descend ) My boys are out the Thur/Fri before...so they only have to miss 3 days.

I have always heard (and read) that Pres. Week is really bad. Hope you can work it out.

Not knowing you or your circumstances, I'm not sure of how important it is for you to go when you suggested. However, the crowds will definitly be better the first part of Feb. If your son is still recouperating from surgury, he may not have the stamina to go at a busier time. I know from experience, the lines are shorter at the first part of Feb, The parks are quieter and the hotel rooms are in Value season, the least expensive. If you are concerned that your son may get jostled in a crowd, I would definitly recomend going in value season.

Thanks everyone for your well-sishes. Praise God that it's not anything life threatning. But, of course, for a parent, any child's illness is terrible.

I know what you mean My youngest DS broke his elbow this past summer and had to have surgery to set it. It was quick and he did great, but it was a harrowing experience for mama in the waiting room! Especially b/c mama is a nurse!
