Best routes From here To...?

Now that my itineary is done i'm starting to wonder how do i navigate between locations? We're driving down but would like to utilize the disney transportation whenever possible. So, tell me what would be the best route say from MK to the Boardwalk? or From DTD to the Yachtmen's restaurant? etc. Feel free to include some scenic routes i.e. combinations of the ferry, monorail, buses, etc. Just insert From ..... To ..... TIA

From any of the parks to most of the resorts you can hop a WDW bus.

Monorail will get you to MK, Epcot, Contemporary, Grand FLoridian and Polynesian.

Boats are available from MK to Wilderness Lodge, Ft Wilderness, Poly, Grand Floridian and Contemporary.
Boat is available from DHS to backside of Epcot (International Gateway). This same boat stops at Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Club and Swan/Dolphin resorts.
Boats are available from Port Olreans resorts and Old Key West to DTD.

You can walk from MK to Contemporary. From Epcot out International Gateway to Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Clob, Swan/Dolphin. You may also walk from DHS to Epcot's international gateway and the hotels listed above for boat stops.

From your resort to any of the parks or DTD busses are available (with limited exception if one of the above scenarios applies)>

Looks like the same inaccurate and often erroneous transportation wizard that Our Laughing Place dot com uses.

I wouldn't depend on that for definite answers to get from a to b.

OP: I would ask specific questions about how to get from one place to another. WDW transportation can be a complicated thing to figure out and I recommend reading/asking as much as possible on here to understand it.

For your specific questions:

MK to BWI: take the bus. The Boardwalk is behind BWI.

DtD to YC (Yachtsmen's Steakhouse): take the bus to BC/YC.

Note that there are 3 monorail lines: the resort loop (going to all the MK area resorts, MK and TTC), the MK express (TTC and MK only), the EPCOT express (TTC and EPCOT only). All monorail lines meet at the TTC and require transfers to get from one to the others.

For the EPCOT area deluxe resorts, there is a walking path along a canal to get to: EPCOT via the back entrance, YC/BC, BWI, Swan/Dolphin and DHS. A boat serves the same places along the canal, though it is not any faster than walking.

Parks generally serve as hubs for the buses. So if you want to get to a non-MK or non-EPCOT resort from another resort, you generally want to get to a park, then catch a bus from there to the destination resort.

DtD has no buses that go straight to a park, but only to resorts.

If I'm reading this accurately, you will have a vehicle. The most efficient way would be to drive to most of these places IMHO. It doesn't indicate what time of year your trip is, but lines for the transportation, then making sure you board the right bus to the right stop all could turn a 15 min drive, to an hour excursion, for instance a quick googlemaps driving directions request:

Maybe I misunderstand the intentions of the OP, (but if it were me) when able to drive from point A to point B, I would drive.

Last year we were at Epcot and wanted to go to Beaches and Cream and have the Kitchen Sink (7 of us). I feel really dumb, but I thought we could take a bus. I didn't realize that we needed to go to the middle of Epcot and take a boat. My pregnant daughter wasn't very happy. I have been to WDW 10 times, but didn't know this.

You don't say where you are staying, but seeing you will have a car I would strongly suggest that you use it, it will definitely save you a lot of time and aggravation, especially with small children.
You can get a map of the entire property from bell services, and they will be happy to give you driving directions to anywhere you might want to go.

The one exception might be if you are going from your resort to Magic Kingdom and back to your resort, which will allow you to avoid the parking lot, the tram and the ticket and transportation center.

If your plans are to go to another resort other than the one you are staying at after leaving MK, I would then use the car. It wouldn't be difficult to get to the other resort from MK, but it will be a hassle to get back your resort from there.
