Hi,

I just changed our car reservation to pick up and return the car at MCO instead taking DME...got a good rate from Alamo and I couldn't resist! :thumbsup2

When I do a Google search it gives a couple of possible routes. Which is the best route? We will be arriving in MCO at 6:00 AM (red-eye flight from CA).

TIA

We used to always take the North Exit to 528 and I-4. This last time we were headed back to MCO at rush hour so knew to stay away from I-4. We took that south way. Slick! We'll do it again. And we noticed that ME takes that route as well.

South Exit from the airport to 417 (somewhat discreet exit) West, to 536 (which I think takes you toward Epcot and then follow the signs). I think I have the numbers right.

OT: Why are two roads--536 and 535--so close to each other? That confuses the heck out of me and I'm good with directions.

Take the South exit to 417, take exit 6 off 417 onto 536, stay on 536 into WDW, after entering WDW take your second right on to Buena Vista Drive, CBR is approx 1/2 mile on the left.

I don't remem er exit numbers but going west on 417 you come to an exit which is for both 536 and 535 that I think has only one of the numbers on it. When you take that exit you then come to a fork for 536 (right through Disney past Downtown Disney and Epcot) or 535 (Hotel Plaza Blvd and businesses just off the Disney property to the east.

Odd route numbers are for north and south. Even numbers are for east and west. 536 ends at World Drive which is the main north-south road through Disney. To go that far, get into the left lane as you pass by the Downtown Disney ramps, and bear left where most of the lanes bear right.

Best route (just $1.00 toll and exact change not mandatory): North airport exit onto Semoran Blvd., left at first light (Frontage). Little over a mile is next light (Conway) where you take two quick lefts onto 528 (Beach Line). Watch for and go down what looks like an exit ramp to pay the toll in cash. On to I-4 west (southwest) and from that vantage point you will see separate exits for 535 and then 536.

Use the 536 (Epcot) exit and first follow the signs for Hollywood Studios which I think takes you off at the second ramp. You are now on Buena Vista heading west and Caribbean Beach is on the left, after the Bonnet Creek Resorts entrance also on the left.

The best route is 417. Hardly any traffic. If you want to arrive stress free at your resort avoid the Beachline and I-4.

these are the directions from google maps:

1. Head east on Airport Blvd toward Airport Blvd 1.3 mi
2. Continue onto S Semoran Blvd 0.3 mi
3. Take the ramp onto FL-528 W Partial toll road 10.9 mi
4. Take the exit onto I-4 W toward Tampa 4.7 mi
5. Take exit 67 toward Epcot/Downtown Disney 1.1 mi
6. Merge onto Epcot Center Dr 0.7 mi
7. Take the ramp to Epcot Resort Area/Disney's Hollywood Studios 0.3 mi
8. Merge onto Buena Vista Dr 0.5 mi
9. Turn left at Cayman Way Destination will be on the right 0.8 mi

Does this sound like the best way?

Thanks!

I think the directions I posted earlier are a lot easier. But do whatever you feel most comfortable with. Keep in mind that I-4 can be very slow during rush hours. I have never experienced anything near heavy traffic on 417 at any time of day.

Toll on 528 is like $1.00 for the first and $0.75 for the other.

On 417 was it $1.25 each toll? I know 528 has two different prices and 417 was consistent. I just don't remember the exact amounts.

I always take the SOUTH exit from the airport to 417, then get off at the first WDW exit - which is exit 6 @ SR 536. The Beachline (528) to I-4 has too much traffic for me.

Don't forget to bring change for the toll roads. It will cost you I believe $4.75 to and from the airport.
