Courtyard, woods, standard??? Can you describe the views? Does the courtyard overlook the pool???

The best view in my opinion is the courtyard view FACING Bay Lake. Picture a "U". You have the right and the left, and then the bottom of the "U"....request the bottom of the U...(there is a more appropriate name for it but I cant remember it  ) I think that is the most wonderful view of the whole resort and you dont have to sit and look at the other side at the other rooms. And below you have the pool, the waterfall, and the whole courtyard. Stunning!

I agree with BamaTigger's opinion on the Courtyard view. We have had it at least 6 times and always enjoyed it with one exception. Our last stay was for one evening before the GF.

We were on the fourth floor with a King Bed. During the day it was a perfect view, however, at night the lights which display the lodge were shining directly into our eyes on the balcony! :earseek: It was like we were on stage! :rotfl:

Since we were only there for one evening we didn't request a move.

As BamaTigger has suggested, go for the Courtyard View.

I think the rooms that you are speaking of are called the "bear face" rooms.I agree that the courtyard rooms have the best view.

When we were there last May, we were upgraded to a courtyard view. When we got to our room, we overlooked the Villas pool. When I questioned it, they said this now was considered courtyard. I believe if you want a courtyard view of the main pool, you need to request "inner courtyard".

If I understand your question correctly, you want to know what you are getting for your extra money for the different view rooms.

Standard view - overlooks parking lots, service areas, etc. Not a bad deal really, since the rooms are identical - especially if you don't plan on spending much time in the room.

Woods view - looks out into the woods on the sides of the resort. You get a side view of the lake from some and a distant view of Cinderella's castle from the north side upper floors.

Courtyard View - overlooks the pool/waterfall/lake/gyser area. Cooler stuff to look at than the other rooms, but you get what you pay for. I would feel cheated if I paid for courtyard view and got stuck looking over the ittybitty Villas pool.

Other tips: See Unofficial Guide for tips on the best rooms. There is a thread around here somewhere where people have posted pictures of their balcony views from the various rooms. Also see the WL FAQ page for an overwhelming flood of good information.

IMHO: I would go for the woods view on the 5th or 6th floor on the MK side. Most hotels have pools, only four have a view of Cindy's castle! princess:
