I need suggestions/advice/maybe a shrink! ;) :lmao:

My husband and I are going to WDW for an anniversary/honeymoon we never had trip in mid-February. We're currently booked for a savanna view studio at AKV, and waitlisted for CL, but part of me wonders if this would be a good time to check out one of the other DVC resorts since we're taking our first DVC trip home to AKV in Dec. already anyway. Our 7 month mark is in about 5 days, so I'm starting to think about checking to see what else is open. We're only staying 4 nights, so a split stay is out.

So, if you had the choose any studio on property in Feb for 4 nights, which would you chose?

I'd try to get a BW view studio at BWV. If not you could always request a village green studio for a PV at BWV. I love the BW/BC area for adults only. Dh and I did BW two years ago alone and got a village green view. This year we will be at BCV in Jan for our anniversary.
Have fun!

depends upon you - what do you consider romantic?

if you like AKV - then maybe VWL?

think everyone has a different opinion to this question.

If you get CL studio I'd do that, for concierge lounge and special safaris if you are interested plus you'll get daily maid service too which imho is very nice plus for special get away. Or VWL, overall atmosphere & lots of cozy spots in both lobby of WL and VWL and boat ride over to MK to monorail hop to other resorts could be fun.

Enjoy :goodvibes

I always thought a MK view from BLT sounded the most romantic.

Agreed. Watch the fireworks from your balcony in near complete privacy. And there is no such thing as a "bad view" at BLT really. All of them are "good" to "Fantastic".

The TOTWL is fantastic. You can sit in a corner there, sip cocktails all night long. Kids aren't typically there (except during the fireworks), since there really isn't anything there for them. Cinderella's castle in the distance. Watch the fireworks, and then just walk back to your room.

Location can't be beat either. Walk to the MK. Monorail to any of the monorail resorts for exploring, dining, etc. Boat to WL, and Fort Wilderness. Monorail to Epcot for it's dining offerings. Walk to the MK bus stop to get to any other resort for dining & activities. You simply can't beat the transportation options at BLT.

If the Theme of BLT doesn't tickle your romantic interests, then i'd also second someone else's suggestion of the Wilderness Lodge. Big lobby with lots of nooks, quick boat ride to the MK, lots of out door activities, and the resort feels secluded with the woods views.

This is a subjective notion, but knowing that, I would also vote for VWL. It's one of the quietest resorts, yet still has the feeling of being close to the action of MK or hopping over to GF for dinner or the Poly to catch the monorail. I love VWL for the overall ambience, from the quiet nights spent sitting on the beach catching glimpses of Wishes or the EWP on Bay Lake, to watching the geyser, to walking down the nature trail along the lake, to AP, to the Hidden Springs jacuzzi, and the list goes on. Just sitting out on the Villas porch in a rocker, adult drink in hand, and listening to the piped in music and chirruping crickets as the lamps flicker is enjoyable to me.

My vote goes to VWL. I love their studios. The lighting is a bit darker, like AKV and you have the Artist Point for a lovely dinner....you can walk along the trail to Ft. Wilderness or go take a little stroll down the sand to a beach chair. The pool and hot tub at the villas are usually quiet in the evening hours and I love sitting there listening to the relaxing music they play over the speakers...

Also...I love walking from the main lodge to the villas...the lights flicker like real candle lit lamps... There are or were last time I was there, rocking chairs outside the main entrance of the Villas....nice spot to just rock and hold hands.

Darn...I may have to change my plans for next year and head back to VWL myself...LOL.

Any place you choose will be wonderful as you are together and in the Happiest Place on Earth.

Sleepy dog....I just echoed all of your thoughts in my post. I should have read yours first....you were spot on!

Definately VWL!

Grab your sweetheart, a hot cup of coco, and sit at the inglenook in front of the fire in the DVC lobby. Rocking chairs welcome you and wisper to sit a spell.

We love to just sit and enjoy each other at this fire!

No matter where you end up, enjoy the moments - they are what life is made of . . .

Aulani, but it won't be ready for you this time ! So, I'd have to go with the VWL crowd.

Thank you all for your fantastic suggestions! You've all brought up thoughts, ideas and opinions that I'd never though about or wouldn't have known, about the resorts you've suggested. :lovestruc

I spoke with hubby last night about the potential of trying a different resort, and his first response was "sure hun, we can stay in absolutely any studio on the property that you'd like, as long as there's a savanna outside the balcony door."

He softened up marginally, and said if I had a really good reason and really, really wanted to try one of the other resorts, he'd be open to hearing me out. Sounds like he's got his heart set on the savanna view at AKL though.

I'm such an Epcot girl at heart, the idea of being within walking distance of a park is just SO incredibly tempting!!!:cloud9: we'll have to see

No Way. BLT is the only resort at WDW without privacy sheets on the windows - you either see the pretty view with everyone in the parking lot- on the monorail getting a perfect fishbowl view of you or have the view completely blocked by heavy curtains. It is not at all romantic - we called it the alien zoo because we felt like someone was always watching us - as if aliens had built BLT as a human observation station. :scared1::eek:

I have never even stayed in a cheap La Quinta without a privacy sheer in addition to light blocking curtains. I can not fathom why BLT with it's great views would not have privacy sheers!

I think AKV savanna or BWV boardwalk view are the most romantic - because those are the only two guaranteed views and privacy sheers. VWL could end you up with a dumpster or bus station view.

If you have a SV outside the window maybe a few animals will sneak into your room as well.

You know "Brown Chicken, Brown Cow" :rotfl2:

Hope everyone gets that!

Had no idea what you were talking about! Googled it... :lmao: Laughed loud enough to disrupt my coworkers! :rotfl2:

Not enough people are willing to spend the time writing to Disney to let them know that this needs to be fixed.

FYI, there are cameras on the AKV Savannah rooms 24x7 to make sure guests do not try to feed the animals. If a guest is spotted attempting to feed the animals, they are escorted off the property. If you do not want to be on camera there, close the curtains (not just the sheers).

Starbox, great input on all counts, thank you!

I really would adore a Boardwalk View if I could get one, I'll just have to see if the husband is at all interested. Even on days we do other parks, we always seem to wind up back at Epcot at the end of the day, since it's often the last to close. The idea of strolling out the International Gateway and walking along the path back to the resort at the end of the night seems so peaceful and romantic. :cloud9:
