We were wondering if we could get some advice on where to eat w/ our 8 yo, 2yo and 10 month old. Ohana sounds good....would our 2 yo like it for dinner? Also, where is your favorite place to do a character breakfast?

I love Ohana too, but I think for your kids age group Crystal Palace would be a better choice. It's in the MK and has a lot going for it. Those 2 are both great choices!

Chef Mickey's is a good choice too! They will love all the ruckus they kick up with the twirling of the napkins and the Celebrate Celebrate Celebrate With Mickey Mouse song. Even the littlest one will get into that!!

So much fun!!

Buffet buffet buffet... Little kids just don't wait very well in general. We love Crystal Palace and Hollywood & Vine. Liberty Tree Tavern character dinner isn't a buffet but it doesn't involve much waiting. We get ADRs even if we think we don't need them for the time of the year that we go, just to cut down on the pre-seating wait time. We plan to do Chef Mickeys and Whispering Canyon next trip but DSs will be a little older by then.

Here are our favorite picks:
crystal palace: nice and loud so you don't have to shush your kids or be embarrassed, food is great for you and kids, lots of action for them to watch and keep them busy.
whispering canyon: this place was made for families! lots of fun and good service.

i have not been to ohana or hollywood and vine....

This will be our 1st time at WDW and I'm not sure I'll be able to gauge how far away we are timewise from where we make our ADR. Any tips? Alos I'm looking for great suggestions for my kiddos 3 1/2 and 7. Can you go to Whispering Springs even if we're staying off-site? Do you need ADR for lunch at Crystal Palace and Whispering Springs, or just for dinner?

Like the op said..buffets. And a few non-buffets. We do both, but I find that buffets are easier because the food is already ready so there's no waiting. If we go to a non-buffet place then I make the ADR for about 30 mins before her usual eat time (6pm) so the food comes out on time. As for atmosphere..

My picks: Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, Cape May Cafe, Liberty Tree Tavern..Whispering Canyon for the older child...can't think of any more off the top of my head.

Our youngest went when she was 13 months and last she was 25 months. We NOT ONCE had any kind of tantrum or crying spell or anything! I just make sure she gets some rest and she eats before she's really hungry.

To the other poster: you can go to any restaurant on WDW property. You don't have to stay on preoprty to go. If you want to go to a restaurant in a park you have to pay to go to that park though. As far as ADR's..yes...I always make ADRs no matter what time of year I go. Better safe than sorry.

Whispering canyon is at the Wilderness Lodge. It is great. You should see the other thread that talks about it.

I would put a vote in for the Cape May character breakfast at the Beach Club. You'll get to meet Goofy, Chip and Dale, and Minnie. The food was good and it is a buffet style.

Chef Mickey's would be good for breakfast as well. Dinner has been a little question at Chef Mickey's the last time I was there. It seemed the selection was down a bit and in some cases certain characters didn't make it around to all of the tables.

I've also heard good things about the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in the GF.

CRT would have been a choice, but our last experience was somewhat rushed with the characters, and with the price going up, I think the luster has come off CRT a bit.

WCC is great for families. My sons, 7 and almost 3 loved the stick pony race and it the certificate for participating was a nice free souvineer!
