Best in Garden Walk

Last time we were there, the restaurants were the only reason to go there.
The rest of the stores were boring and did not invite casual browsing. If they want more people there, they need to get in some better stores.

Well I was lying when I said I didn’t know why the stores were closing. But I do. I just didn’t want to detour the OP from wanting to go there and experience it themselves!

But yeah pink Budgie I am with you, the places to eat are the reason to really go there.. otherwise there isn’t a whole lot to look at..

I'm going out with you guys. I have tried to talk dh into doing this and he won't go for it. I asked if I could order for us at Outback one night and I ordered a Thunder as the appetizer. He stopped it.

Your DH sucks. LOL DBF loved the backwards dinner idea when I proposed it. :)

Pennsylvanian Dutch?

I don't know what PA Dutch is, besides the group of people who were Dutch and settled in PA. lol

The restaurants are definitely the only reason to go to the GW, the stores are so snooty and rude!! If you dare to go in them with your park clothes on you get dirty looks!

im sorry but what a meanie!! u can order dessert with me for dinner anytime!!:lmao: :lmao: House of blues also has great desserts!

:rotfl: I'll just have to do it one day without him.:cake: Can you see me saying "hey, I'm going to DL to meet some people for a dessert dinner". :rotfl:

..yes and if he starts to decline just remind him husbands can be traded in for better husbands… :lmao: just kidding! ;)

Cheesecake Factory is okay if you don't have to wait more than 30 minutes, otherwise I'd go someplace else.

CPK is more than pizza, they have great pastas too.

Roy's is great, so is McCormick & Schmick's, both are much better than the Cheesecake Factory.

Fire & Ice is a really fun and unique place.

PF Chang's is a good Americanized version of Chinese food.

Roy’s is pricey and you gotta love steak to go there,my bf loves steak so im sure he’d go there.. but me I like cheesecake factory, but I tried M&S not to long ago, and I loved the appetizer menu. And first bar I have ever seen to have Stella Artois on tap, other then that. M&S is really good quality.

Question for about M&S Happy hour menu....do you have to sit in the bar area to get these items? I have two teens so we typically aren't allowed in the bar area to get the food served during Happy Hour. Being this is so close to Disney I'm wondering if they bend that rule since a lot of their patrons would be families with kids?

Sounds yummy!

Oh...and to the person who wanted dessert first....we've actually gone into a restaurant and ONLY had dessert. Typically we eat a good sized lunch so we aren't starving but know we have to eat something...and well, we're on vacation so why not splurge and do a chocolate dinner, lol.

But...take that with a grain of salt, because I'm also the mom that considers popcorn to be a dinner food about once a month, lol.

Good Question - I also have a 16yo and would like to know too.

Thanks for the suggestions on Mimi's etc but we have already tried and did like it but this time staying near Candy Cane so GW restaurants aren't far away and would like to try somewhere new. Only thing is about CPK, I can get 20% discount with an AP (or on the OC website, etehre's a coupon) and haven't found any discounts on Cheesecake Factory.

Also has anyone been bowling or visited the IMAX cinema at GW?

I sent a woman there last week. It was the night of the CM Xmas party and they evidently didn't realize they were at the park on a short day. She stopped me and asked if there was anything nearby to do. I do not really care for bowling but 300 Anaheim is awesome and I will go again! I've got pics somewhere, I'll dig through cards. Sign up for their email system and you'll get a coupon. I have one that expires today that's worth $20 off. The theater is really nice, we opt to pay the extra for the adult only area. I know ownership recently changed, so that may be different now.

I would just do Cheesecake Factory for dessert only personally - the dishes are tasty but I don't consider them worth the price or caloric tag (they're one of the worst offenders on Eat This Not That).
But then again I go to CPK and order the Artichoke dip as my meal (DH usually snags a few chips, and I eat 1 slice of his BLT pizza), which is also calorically horrible but totally worth it to me.
So I'd vote CPK over CF, but keep in mind you can always order a slice of cake takeout ... we usually get the low-carb or the fluffy lemon one (can't remember the name but its to die for) since you can get most of the 'regular ones' (ie. white choc rasp, ny, choc, pumpkin) at costco anytime.

$20 off is very tempting - we are still wondering whether to go into the park on our first day - it's a Saturday and a block out (DAP's) - this may be another good option.

How far in advance can you register - ie is the expiration date within a couple of weeks or so? Thansk:goodvibes

Yes..connie you have to sit in the bar area for the happy hour.. they have tables also, so it’s not like if you had a 16 yo with you that you *had* to sit at the bar area, besides anyone under 21 is not allowed to sit at the bar anyway… here is the menu for you and anybody else that like to see it! I had the coconut shrimp—it was VERY good!

Hey! My mom does popcorn for dinner too.. she is also a popcorn addict!
