These Santa Fe Wraps by Paula Deen are fabulous! They were such a hit and had people requesting the recipe. They can also be made a couple of days in advance and then sliced and served at the last minute to make it easy.

I could make a meal out of appitizers.

I have made wraps similar to the Santa Fe wraps, but they just have three ingredients..Cream Cheese, Salsa, and tortilla wraps. They are great without all the other ingredients that PD uses. They are much easier to cut if you wrap the assembled wraps in plastic wrap and refrigerate for a few hours.

I haven't had the old standby -Hot Artichoke Dip- lately...maybe enough years have passed and it's time to drag it out again. Easy as pie- 1 cup mayo, 1 cup Parmesan Cheese, 1 cup chopped artichoke hearts. Mix in a bowl, put into greased baking/serving dish and bake at 425 until bubbly.

I found this one, too..it's spicy and sweet.

This makes a beautiful presentation-with red layers of sun dried tomatoes and green layers of pesto between white cream cheese layers. I served this with a small sprig of our Christmas tree (end of branch part wrapped in plastic wrap) on top.

Pesto and Sun-Dried Tomato Torta Recipe

This popular appetizer is easy to prepare and looks beautiful garnished with fresh basil leaves. Serve it with fresh or toasted baguette slices.

Ingredients
Serves 6–8
1/3 cup oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, drained
2 cups cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2/3 cup pesto, room temperature
~ basil leaves for decoration

Directions

1. Chop the drained sun-dried tomatoes and set aside.
2. Place the cream cheese, butter, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper in the bowl of your electric mixer and beat until smooth.
3. Select your favorite two-and-one-half-cup mold and line it with plastic wrap. (A small loaf pan or bowl works well.)
4. Divide the cream cheese mixture into four equal portions. Place the first-portion into the bottom of the mold and spread it evenly to the edges.
5. Cover the mixture with 1/3-cup of the pesto.
6. Spread the next portion of cream cheese over the pesto and top it with the sun-dried tomatoes.
7. Add the next layer of cream cheese, spread evenly, and top with the remaining pesto.
8. Top the torta with the last portion of cream cheese and gently press it down so that the layers meld.
9. Cover the torta with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for eight hours or overnight.
10. Remove the torta 45 minutes before serving and bring it to room temperature.
11. Gently unwrap, un-mold, and place the torta on a serving plate. Decorate with the basil leaves.

These are very good and freeze well.

Yum!! I make this all the time. My recipe is:

Boil 2-3 chicken breasts and then shred them

Mix 1 block of cream cheese, 1 cup of Blue cheese dressing and 1 cup of Frank's red hot(we like spicy!) with the chicken. Bake it for about 45 minutes until hot and bubbly. Serve with scoops!!

Thanks! I'll be bringing this to Thankgiving Dinner!!!

I make a taco dip.

I take a can of refried beans, the big can
I spread it on the bottom of a cake pan.
Next I mix 1 packet of taco season with 16 oz of sour cream.
Spread on top of beans.
Next I sprinkle colby jack cheese on top about a cup.
Next I chop 4 green onions and spread on top.
1 tomato, chopped/diced, and spread on top.
2 small cans of sliced olives, drain and spread on top.

I serve with salsa (or you can put this on top also), tortilla chips.

Mmmmmm. I love appetizers.

They're better than an actual sit down meal, IMO.

A simple salmon dip I make uses:

Cans of bonefree/skinfree salmon from SAM's club.
Your choice of how much Ranch dressing, more if you want it creamier, just play with it for your taste.
Mrs. Dash regular seasoning
and pepper, fresh probably being better.

Mix them up, and serve with Ritz crackers.

And here is the link to a garlic cheese log or dip I like to make:

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Garlic-Cheese-Logs/Detail.aspx

For gifts I roll it out into logs and wrap up, but for parties you can just mix it up in a bowl. Very garlicky! :)

Now don't forget the mints though for those who really like these! ;)

One of our holiday standards for everything is cucumber sandwiches - super easy and absolutely delicious!

loaf cocktail rye bread
1 block cream cheese
1 packet dry italian dressing mix
mayonnaise
cucumber, sliced
paprika

mix the softened cream cheese, dressing mix and enough mayo to make it smooth and spreadable. Spread on slice of bread, top with cucumber slice and sprinkle with paprika for color. This is best when the cream cheese mixture is made ahead of time or when you have time to allow the sandwiches to sit, but is good even right away. The green and red are especially nice at Christmas!

I've heard of the chili sauce/grape jelly meatballs too...but up here in WI it's also very popular to use barbecue sauce. Same goes for the little smokies in BBQ...an absolute favorite!

You can never go wrong with a sliced cheese, sausage and cracker selection - which is also very easy!

Good luck with your first party!

I could make a meal out of appitizers.

Same here.

I am copying the ones I want to try on to a word document. We usually just have appetizers, lots of them, for Christmas Eve. :thumbsup2
