We are hosting our first Christmas Party this year, as our house is finally finished. What are your best holiday appetizers and what else should I know.
We are having about thirty people over. Thanks in advance!

I make a clam dip that is always a huge hit. I'll try to remember it........

1 can of minced clams(6 oz)

1 sleeve of Ritz crackers crushed

1/2 stick melted butter

1/2 onion chopped

about 1/2 cup parm cheese

garlic powder

oregano

Mix all together and I put it in a white ceramic ramikin and cover in foil. bake for about 40 minutes or until all browned on top. Serve with Ritz and lemon wedges.:thumbsup2

buffalo chicken dip. I don't have the recipe off hand but you can google it. It's Franks buffalo sauce and I'm sure you can find it there. It can be served with crackers and celery sticks. It's super easy.

This is my new favorite.

Brie en Croute

1 sheet frozen puff pastry
1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted
1 small wheel Brie cheese
1/2 cup raspberry jam
1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Defrost 1 sheet of puff pastry for approximately 15 to 20 minutes and unfold. Top Brie with jam and nuts. Gently roll pastry with a rolling pin to increase the size of the sheet 1 to 2 inches in each direction. Brush both sides of the sheet with beaten egg. Center the wheel of Brie on top of the pastry sheet. Bring all four corners of the sheet together above Brie and twist slightly to form a bundle Place on cookie sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until pastry is golden brown. Serve with crackers.

Cocktail meatballs

1 pound lean ground beef
1 egg
2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup bread crumbs
3 tablespoons minced onion
1 (8 ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce
3/4 cup chili sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the ground beef, egg, water, bread crumbs, and minced onion. Roll into small meatballs. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. In a slow cooker over low heat, blend the cranberry sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Add meatballs, and cook for 1 hour before serving.

Taco Dip.

1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 can refried beans
1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 (16 oz.) container sour cream
1 (16 oz.) jar salsa
tomato, chopped
sliced green onions
shredded lettuce
sliced black olives
shredded Cheddar cheese

Mix together the taco seasoning mix and refried beans. Spread the mixture onto a large serving platter. Mix the sour cream and cream cheese. Spread over the refried beans. Top with salsa. Layer remaining ingredients. Serve with tortilla chips.

Yum!! I make this all the time. My recipe is:

Boil 2-3 chicken breasts and then shred them

Mix 1 block of cream cheese, 1 cup of Blue cheese dressing and 1 cup of Frank's red hot(we like spicy!) with the chicken. Bake it for about 45 minutes until hot and bubbly. Serve with scoops!!

Taco roll-ups. Super easy, cheap, and everyone loves them!

2 packages of cream cheese (softened so it's easier to mix)
1 package of taco seasoning
Approximately 10 tortillas
Shredded cheese

Mix together cream cheese and taco seasoning. Spread thin layer on tortillas. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Roll up tightly and put in fridge for a few hours then slice into rolls. Serve with Salsa, sour cream, etc.

ETA: I just realized I originally put 1 package of cream cheese but it should be two!!

For any party we have gone to, it seems the grape jelly meatball in a crock pot is always the biggest hit. We have never made it, but we devour them.

Sometimes we make pigs in a blanket using cocktail franks and crescent roll dough and they always disappear.

Thanks for this!! Looks great and I'm always looking for meatless apps for my SIL!

VEGGIE PIZZA

2 cans Pillsbury cresent rolls
2 8oz blocks cream cheese
1 cup mayo
1 pkg. Hidden valley ranch dry mix
chopped veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, radish if you like)
shredded cheese optional

Pat cresent rolls on flat cookie sheet, pinching seams together. Bake as directed on pkg. Mix softened cream cheese, mayo and ranch dressing mix. Spread on cooled cresent crust. Cut veggies very small and sprinkle over cream cheese mixture. Top with cheese if you like. Cut into small squares or triangles. Needs to be refrigerated.

SEASONED OYSTER CRACKERS

1 pkg oyster crackers
3/4 - 1 cup oil
1 pkg. dry ranch dressing mix
2-4 TBSP dill weed
pinch of garlic powder

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Stir until well blended. Spread on a baking sheet and put in a 200* preheated oven for 20min. stirring 2-3 times. Let cool on baking sheet and put in an airtight container. ADDICTING!

HAM n PICKLE ROLL-UPS----can also substitute spears of green onion for the pickle.

1 pkg. rectangular sliced ham, sold in lunch meat section
1 8oz block cream cheese
1 jar dill pickle spears

Lay out a slice of ham, pat with dry paper towel to make spreading cream cheese easier. Spread a thin layer of softened cream cheese on entire surface of ham. Slice each pickle spear in half so you end up with 2 thin spears. Place 1 spear on the short end of the ham, on top of the cream cheese. Now roll up. Will keep for a couple days but will start to get watery after time. Best if eaten the same day made. Very good with green onion spears rolled up in it instead of the pickle.

FYI: I just revised. It should be two packages of cream cheese, not one!! You can really add whatever you want to the mixture...sour cream, onions, etc. I'm pretty picky so we just stick with regular cheese!

Thank you so much, these all look amazing and look like things I can make. I knew this was the place to ask. Thanks again, keep them coming!

I love cream cheese, so bear with me, lol.

Cream Cheese Fruit Dip
One very softened block of cream cheese mixed with one jar of kraft marshmallow creme. Refrigerate. Serve with fresh fruit.

Caramel Apple Dip
Layer softened cream cheese in dish, pour caramel ice cream topping over, and sprinkle with chopped pecans. Serve with sliced apples.

Another yummy one is bacon wrapped shrimp, $$ for a lot of people though. Take large peeled deveined shrimp, wrap with 1/2 strip bacon and secure with toothpick. Grill until bacon cooked and crispy. My mama serves these with a sauce of cocktail sauce and horseradish mixed to taste.

Baked Brie cheese with warm pecans, cranberries and brown sugar drizzled over the top served on slices of apples and pears shaken in a zip lock bag with lemon juice to keep them from browning.

Artichoke spinach dip with Monterrey jack cheese

Okay, it sounds gross but is probably good, and I don't know if it's a regional thing, but I've never seen this served! I agree about the pigs in a blanket - oldy but goody. Deviled eggs, same thing. How about scallops wrapped in bacon! :thumbsup2

I recently made a spread with dried cherries, pecans, scallions, cream cheese, and blue chees, mixed together - awesome!

This is a frozen drink....VERY GOOD!

FROZEN PINA-COLADA MIX

1 lg. can pineapple juice
6oz frozen lemonade
1 can cream of coconut (I found this in the liquor section)
1 pint rum
1 1/2 cups 7-up (helps to set up the slush)

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl with cover. Freeze. When ready to have a drink, scoop/scrape as much pina colada mix as you want into a glass and fill with 7-up. YUM! This bowl of mix lasts along time.

Combine your two dips into one. Cream Cheese, Marshmallow Creme and Caramel Sauce. Awesome!!! :thumbsup2

Scallops wrapped in bacon would be good.

The meatball thing does sound gross--the grape jelly is just for sugar, I'm positive.

But there are other meatball recipes. I like most of them. Just google meatballs in a crockpot. If it is a fancier party, I'd put the finish meatballs in a nice serving dish.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 C. butter, softened
1 C. powdered sugar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans

Beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Mix in sugars and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover and chill for 2 hours. Shape into a ball, wrap with plastic, and chill for 1 hour. Roll the cheese ball in pecans before serving. Serve with graham cracker sticks.
