Part of our Disney experience, are the purchases we make at Gift Shops to take back home as momentos. Our best past purchases were the large soft Mickey hands, punching Mickey hand with sound, WDW Monopoly, and dress up princess doll sets. Any other recommendations?

What are your best purchases? Less than a week to go....

My best and favorite souvenir are the photo albums. I always get the newest, with the year. There are 3 different sizes- Large holds 300 pictures, Medium holds 200 pictures, and Small holds 100 pictures. That is the only thing I buy for myself. Usually 2, one for my pictures and one for PhotoPass pictures.

I do also try to get an ornament each trip, sometimes I forget though! It's nice to see them hanging on the tree and remember our trip! :goodvibes

My favorite souvie is a WDW mug that we got on our first trip. It is a black and white photo of Walt looking down at Mickey (Mickey is in color). They are standing on Main Street.

I use it every weekend with my coffee or tea, and when I have tea in the evenings. I love it!!! It's going on 5 years old now, but it looks just as great as the day I bought it. It's been through the dishwasher and microwave, and still has held up.

ETA: apparently, you can buy it from Amazon:

but I got mine at the emporium on Main street!

My favorite so far is a Christmas decoration that I hang in my kitchen every year... it's a big mickey shape wrapped in red and white ribbon with bells and pinecones hanging down off of it... very pretty. :) I'm looking forward to finding another ornament next week!

MY best purchases are things i will use long after i come home.

things like...
-zip up hoodie
-t-shirt
-towel
-blanket
-drawstring backpack (i got it a few years ago and its my go to park bag cuz its not too big and not too small for what i need at the parks)
-earrings
-necklace
-sunglasses
-hat (i bought one last trip that is the same style that i had purchase from target probably 6yrs ago now which i wear during every disney trip so now the new one i bought will be my go to hat for disney trips)
-body scrub (from the basin shop in DTD. i bought 2 big containers 3 years ago and i'd say i probably still have 1/3 in one and 1/2 in the other and its AMAZING)

don't get me wrong i do love collecting stuffed animals and snow globes and other trinket things but its like you can only have so many until you start running out of places to put them.

I wear a lanyard-type necklace around my neck at work every day. In February last year, I found a really great beaded lanyard - it's made up of small, black, shiny "jet" beads with a silver Mickey head. It was only about $17; I bought it at the jewelry/accessory shop on Main Street at MK.

I now wear this lanyard every day! I even had a friend buy me an extra one, in case this one breaks. I love it!

Best souvenirs are ones that get used often, not displayed or stored.

A dressy scarf (around $18) with a sort of hidden Mickey head design. If you didn't know, you'd never see Mickey. I wear it often.

Bowls from Japan that we use often for soup and cereal.

For me personally, it would be my hoodies and throws. I am always cold so they are my most used souvenirs. My favorites are my pictures though. And I buy perfume for me and cologne for DH in Epcot that I can't get at home.

I bought a visor in AK in 2005. It was a 'clip on' type not the type that is full circle (if you wear visors you know what I mean)
I wore it all the time!!! It disappeared last summer :confused3

It will be the first thing I try to find on our next trip.

This is really subjective. Depends on what your style is. I'm into subtle things or things that have a certain aesthetic that I appreciate. It would be highly unlikely for me to purchase anything that had a character in cartoon form on it. An outline of a Mickey head, maybe.

My favorites is probably my die cast parking tram model, my favorite mode of Disney transportation. It is intermingled with my various decor items on my bookshelves in my living room. I also purchased a travel mug that had the 2014 design on it. I loved the mod/retro design for last year.

I think the one thing you can't go wrong with is a magnet. There is really something for everyone and it's a very inexpensive souvenir.

My dream item would be a ceramic spaceship earth that was just a bit bigger than a softball. That would look terrific on my shelves.

My kids' favorite gift shop is Norway in Epcot. They get something there every trip. Foam swords and shields with the Nordic embellishments. Viking hats (with pigtails). I like getting the swiss chocolate and other boxed yummies, as well as lingonberry sauce.

I have a magnet that plays the monorail announcements on my fridge.

I have lots of Tshirts I love, a jacket, mugs, CDs of the Epcot music and MK rides, carvings from the shops in Africa at AK, kitchen towels, Christmas ornaments, so many things!

Almost forgot the Mr Potato Head Disney-specific items. We pull those out whenever nieces and nephews visit with their kids.

well for us there are always pins, but beyond that i really loved the pick a pearl in japan epcot because this time i got the sterling cinderella carriage pendant to hold the pearl. i have been wearing it now that we are home and i really love it. also, not sure if these count as i bought them before we got there and i know they are hard to find at the moment, but i love love love my pandora charm bracelet. also, the plush throw that was a gift with purchase this month is home and on my bed and it also is nicer than expected. lastly, we enjoyed the grab bags at downtown disney fun finds. lots of cool stuff : )

That is my favorite mug too. I wanted to get more when we went the following year but couldn't find them since. I'm not paying $50 on Amazon though.

We usually buy a strange soap from Epcot/Canada (like Dog Drool). Nice soaps at the Basin. We bought chopsticks in Japan years ago and still use them whenever we get Chinese takeout.

The annual christmas ornament for sure! The most outrageous coffee mug we can find, and for my daughter, a stuffed animal from every park!

Our favorite souvenir was purchased at DL, but I think it still applies since I'm hoping to find something like it at WDW. It's the Disneyland music CD, with a lot of the music from the rides, and Walt's opening speech. We play it so much it's starting skipping, (it's been a few years since we bought it.)
