Best Food Court

Being on the DDP, convenience is very important! Which resort do you think has the best food court and why. One other note, I will be traveling with my 5 year old. He's not too picky but loves chicken and veggies! Any info will be a big help for us to decide which resort to stay at.

we've stayed at all the values (as well as CR) - most recently, we've been at Pop and really like their food court - it's a nice set-up, the food variety has been great - especially the twice-weekly "turkey dinner" - also the shrimp with the asian noodles was surprisingly good! - it's as if each time they make a new value resort, they improve upon the food court, and Pop has reaped that benefit!

we recently stayed at Pop also, and this food court had a few different items then at Movies.......On the beverage counter they also had apple juice which none of the other resorts had with the refillable mug. Also two slushy stations....I am still partial to the food court at Movies. They have a made to order salad an also they have had sliced steak with two sides. Very good at both resorts though

Of the resort food courts I've tried, I like the All-Stars the best.

Pop is second.

POR is third.

WL and AKL are not bad.

I would say it's Gasparilla's Grill & Games at the Grand Floridian.

Mara is by far our favorite.

GF's food court was closed when we stayed there, and BWI doesn't have a food court (you're supposed to eat at the places up and down the Boardwalk and this is NOT convenient at all). ASSp could be any food court at the mall. The Poly food court has been redone since our stay there, so can't comment. OKW's Goods to go is limited and tiny for such a huge resort but I think the thinking there is that most folks buy groceries.

Mara has great fish and chips, and african stew, plus all the usual suspects. My favorite quick lunch there is the Kalamata olive hummus with baked pita crisps (all found in the fridge cases), followed by a paw print brownie!

I just wanted to point out that not all the resorts have the same type of food courts.

I've never yet stayed at a value, but I understand they have fairly expansive food courts -- someone other than me can explain that.

I've been to the food court at Port Orleans - Sasparilla Grille that someone mentioned - I thought it had a lot of selection, but it's been a few years. I'm not sure the differences between the value food courts and the moderate food courts.

But deluxes don't really have a "food court" like the others. They have smaller counter service locations, usually with more limited choices, because those resorts have full-service/table service restaurants whereas a value resort does not. We liked Roarin' Forks at the Wilderness Lodge and Artists Palette at SSR.

So if you're looking for what people usually mean when they say "food court," (lots of choices and counters, etc.), you probably want to stay at a value or moderate resort.

Well as far as resorts go I would have to say CSR, The food is yummy , huge portions for CS and lots of choices. Alot of people do not like the setup of it but but has never bothered me. And the 10% gratuity can be bypassed by getting it to go and eating outside at one of the tables overlooking the lake.

Agree 100%--we have never had a bad meal here.

Frankly, there is no way I'd compare any of the Disney Value food courts to a mall food court.

The food courts at the values are actually priced quite well by Disney standards. Sure, they're expensive by "mall food court" standards, but they are actually a little cheaper than the CS places in the parks, have quality just as good - often better - than the CS places in the parks, and the menus have a reasonable variety.

Not the All-Star Music. Although the construction is now done, the Music Cafe is smaller than Movies or Sports.

Once referred to as Snack Bars but with the DDP adopting the term too they needed to change their identity since snacks is a class of meal plan tickets.

Their now referred to now as Quick Service Meal restaurants. The phrase of counter service is also phased out as you may see more changes to dining at Disney. Changes to naming conventions normally signal changes are coming...sort of like taking your currency and converting it into a ticket. Maybe initially blending TS with Quick Meal as you now see pilot fast meal offering as select table service restaurants.

All deluxe Quick Service locations are limited in the array of food choices as the resort is more focused on TS or Signature TS Offerings...at least for now.

I thought Pop was mediocre at best. The asian noodles (lo mein) was nasty, the calzone was bleh and the burger and fries were typical. I did not think the desserts were anything to write home about. Unless I was staying at Pop, I wouldn't make a trip out there for the food. And I'd probably eat most meals at the parks, anyway. It was painfully typical Disney CS.
