Next summer my DH and I will have a 7 month old and we're going to take it to WDW. I was wondering: out of BC, BW, VWL, or AKL, which do you think would be the best to take the kid? Besides AKL, we've stayed at all the other places a million times, but just in adult groups. I was wondering if I had POVs from ppl with kids or who take kids down. Basically, I want a place that's "baby friendly," maybe nicer cribs, easier accesses, and especially water interactive areas. HELP!!! :)

SSR has everything you listed. now it doesn't have easier access to any of the parks - only DD.

It has a zero entry pool (but so does BCV - salb). It also has one of the water interactive areas - in the newest part.

yeah, I figured SSR would be good but DH isn't interested in staying there or at OKW.

A huge vote for the Beach Club! Being able to walk to 2 parks with a sleeping baby in the stoller was invaluable. I would be AKL at the bottom because you are either on the bus or in a car.

IMO, the best place to take "it" would be BWV or BCV. I say that because you can walk to 2 of the 4 parks and won't have to worry about the "kid" on a bus. :)

Also, your husband would probably enjoy ESPN. I know I do.

I have heard some people say that some DVC resorts have cribs, but we didn't chance it when we went with our daughter who was 10 months at the time. The rooms had pack and plays, but we wanted a crib. I ended up renting one from www.abbf.com. It was convinient and was decent.

Thanks for the help everyone. I was kinda thinking the Beach Club (as you probably guessed from my screen name I do enjoy it). :rotfl2:

It was kinda a toss up actually b/t that and VWL but I cannot remember the big pool and what it's like for little ones. I don't think it's great for them if I recall correctly.

Good point with the whole being close to 2 parks.

As far as baby friendly water areas go, I think SSR and OKW have the best options with BCV coming in behind. One thing that always bothers me about BCV pool area with a baby is the meandering aspect of the pool, and the fact that it is often so crowded. For park access, BCV is great as long as you aren't planning on doing MK too much. Once "it" is a toddler, I might say VWL for that access to MK. So is "it" a he or a she??

Thanks for the help. We find out the sex on August 15th. I wish we knew sooner b/c we are going to WDW next week and we'd buy it a million things (like we still aren't going to). Oh well, maybe it's a sign that we don't know...maybe we won't max out our credit cards. :rotfl2:

Well at 7 months he/she will be doing a lot of sleeping and just sitting along with crawling an putting every thing in his/her mouth (.

The walking to parks while he/she sleeps is incredibly valuable. So my vote goes to BWV or BCV. Since I could only choose one I went with BWV since it is more midway between the two. I really discounted the pool aspect

As far as the pool... you may really just want to take him/her in the water with you in the big pool and therefore any resort will do. He/she maybe sitting but may need assistance. I can't really see the splash areas working well for a sitting baby. The sand area at BCV could either be really good ...or not, depending on if he/she likes the sand. If he/she doesn't (my first one didn't) then that's no good. If he/she likes it too much and wants to eat it the whole time, that's also no good!

There was a quiet little baby pool at BCV near the sand bar area that was shaded and calm that would be nice. BWV also has a little pool.

I would have to say BCV. I am not a real fan of BCV, but the SAB... even though it is travelling water, still has some real nice nooks and crannies where you can settle down and just enjoy a calm beach like setting.

I voted for BCV. (I have stayed at all of the resorts except AKL.)

BCV is not my favorite DVC resort, but we took our 12 month old there and it really was nice to be able to walk to both MGM and EPCOT.

The only reason I'm voting for BCV over BWV is because you said the water activities were important. I think that the zero entry feature at SAB is really an asset with a baby that age.

Enjoy your trip!

I have toddlers, and they like spending most of their time a MK. At 7 months that may not be so much as an issue (since baby will not voice an opinion as vocally as preschoolers), but if it is, I vote for VWL. The boat to MK is great with easy roll on for strollers (and exhausted little ones). Its also possible to take the boat to the Contemporary and monorail to Epcot (without closing up the stroller)-- not a short trip by any means but a relaxing one if you are trying to lull a little one to sleep. The pool area is nice, and there is a kiddy pool and a sand beach. Also, everything is relatively close together.

This is too bad since those two resorts are really quiet. We have found that the DVC resorts with interior halls, have more noise that can be heard in the room. If you child is not a light sleeper, then it will not be an issue.

For all the reasons above. I have stayed at each with young ones. Each one of them were easy at the the pool. OK, maybe BWV's was alittle harder without zero entry but it has a great overall location. Have fun at which ever one you choose!

I voted for BWV... As others have said, its within walking distance of two parks...

If going to WDW wasn't a requirement though, I'd vote VB in a heartbeat... The resort is so laid back and so self contained, that taking care of toddlers there is a breeze...
