Best Character Meet And Greet Memories and Experiences?

1. My husband finally meeting Figment in 2007 at Epcot. He was like a little kid.

2. Our first character meal at Chef Mickey during our daughters first trip to Disney. She had just turned two. The look on her face when she saw her favorite characters in real life is something I'll never forget. All of the characters spent tons of time with her, and Minnie came over last. As soon as she spotted Minnie, our daughter began exclaiming "Minnie Mouse! Minnie Mouse! Please come here, Minnie Mouse!". The look of sheer joy on her face in our family photograph with Minnie still brings tears to my eyes when I look at it. Minnie even came around for a second visit.

3. Same trip, impromptu meet with Snow White. My daughter was in awe. She couldn't speak, she was so enchanted with Snow White. Snow White was amazing. She got on my daughters level and they sat down on the ground by the wishing well. Snow White spoke very softly to her, and at the end asked for a hug. My daughter leaned in and that photo is perfect. She was the best friend of Snow White we've ever encountered. She knew just how to talk with my little one, who never even said a word during the meet and greet- she was that star struck. We saw her again a year later and she was just as amazing.

I have two!

First was the dinner at 1900 Park Fare - Stepmother & both Step Sisters asked DS what he did for a living, how much money he made, Stepmother told him he could marry Anastasia, she had lower standards. Then both the sisters told him he could marry the other sister as she had lower standards. It was SO funny!

Second was Gaston. I was in line with my girls, and then stepped over to the park photographer to take my own photos as well as the Memory Maker ones while the girls were visiting with him. Then when they were done, he says (rather loudly) "now the OTHER sister" and motioned me over. Then he says to all the men standing around "see what I did there? She's OBVIOUSLY the mother, but I made her think I thought she was a sister" Then he proceeded to lift my sunglasses off my face so he could have me stare "lovingly" into his eyes. He was hilarious! And SO cute!

We had an awesome meet and great with Merida in Jan. 2014. She acted just like you would expect Merida to act. It also didn't feel rushed. We were disappointed with the different Merida we had in June of this year.
Our funniest one in June was with Tiana and Naveen. Tiana was telling my 3 year old that's she could come visit her in the bayou. Tiana said, " Would you like to see the frogs?" My daughter said no so Tiana asked if she would like to see the fireflies. My daughter again said no. Tiana then asked, "What would you like to see then." My daughter replied, "Minions." I quickly said,"Wrong park" and Tiana and Naveen couldn't help but laugh over her answer.
I was super excited to finally get an Elsa and Anna FP even though the only one was for 11:00 at night. My sleepy daughters got dressed in their costumes and after a 20 minute wait we finally got to go in. Elsa was good, but Anna seemed very disinterested and the visit was very disappointing.

When my daughter was two she got to ride Dumbo with Mickey Mouse, it was right after opening and we were the first people in line.
The next year my daughter was chosen as chef of the day at the Crystal Palace and she got to decorate pancakes with Piglet, Tigger, Pooh, and Eeyore. After we finished at Crystal Palace we went to Toontown, and she was chosen to be the first person to meet Mickey at his house, we had a private tour of the house and a private photo session with Mickey.
The next year we went to Disneyland and she had the opportunity to ride the Pooh ride with Eeyore, by this time she was very chatty and talked his ear off from beginning to end.
Unfortunately due to her age at these times she does not remember any of it, but I cherish these memories.

I've had two meet and greets that stand out beyond any others.

First is Tiana and Naveen. Those two were absolutely amazing! Very, very playful, very quick witted, and just completely dead on. The characters played off each other perfectly! I highly recommend anyone who hasn't met them to do it. You won't regret it!

Second is Ariel. I've had some good and some meh with Ariel. As you can tell from my avatar, I am a HUGE Ursula fan. Well Disney doesn't make many, if any, shirts with Ursula or the other female villains for guys (they do in Tokyo Japan though). Because of this I design and make my own shirts. It was late in the evening at the Magic Kingdom and we decided to stop by to say hi to Ariel. Walking into Ariel's Grotto we were the only guests there. The greet met us and took us back to Ariel's spot. Ariel was laughing about something and just stopped and stared at me and my shirt. She narrowed her eyes and said "Oh. HER." The entire time the photographer is snapping away. That's when I got the BEST photo of Ariel I think anyone has.

Just... perfect (absolutely terrible picture of me because they got it mid-word, but eh.). We had a lot of fun with her and sat and talked to her for a few minutes. By far my best memory with a character!

Bonus 3rd:
We met Snow White at Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast. A friend of ours asked her "Have you had any good apples lately?" Without missing a beat Snow went on, "Oh no! But this one time I took a bite of a magic wishing apple and woke up to find my prince in front of me!" Completely blew my friend's mind because he never thought of the story from Snow White's point of view!

My 9 yo daughter had the most fun with Marie today. She saw her Marie shirt and at time for her shift change skipped hand in hand with her to the edge of town square. She invited me over to take a picture, and it was a-mazing. :) We missed Marie twice at Epcot in 2010, and she's my daughter's favorite. Woohoo!

For me there are 2. Meeting Goofy in the fast pass meet and greet at Epcot. Wow Goofy honestly gives the best hugs ever!!! And Mary Poppins and Mr Penguin in MK. Mr Penguins kiss noise is adorable!
Chip and Dale in MK get an honorable mention cause they are my favourite characters :)

Our best character M&G experience was with Ariel in 2014. We were wondering around NFL around midnight and thought we were going to the ride (we didn't pay attention to the signs, we were so tired!) but had stumbled into her grotto instead. Well my boys had decided they NEVER wanted to meet princess because their girls and girls are yucky! They were 11 and 7 at the time. I turned to them (after they told us she'll be right with you) and said I guess you get to meet your first princess! As soon as they brought as back she engaged the boys and both of them (especially our 6 yr old) was in awe, we have some truly amazing pictures because she kept them engaged and I think our 6 yr old was in love! When we left they were both like I think we can meet princesses, I want to meet A&E. We couldn't make it happen that trip but we did for our 2015 trip :)

I don't know what it says about me but the two most memorable for me were super traumatic for my son!

A few years ago if decided we should have lunch at CRT before he got too old and cool for it. Well, turns out he's terrified of face characters! So Ariel comes up to our table and my son jumps under the table to hide. Ariel just looked at me and said, "huh. Guess he clammed up."

I'm sure the tells that joke like 100 times per day and her delivery couldn't have been more perfect. I thought it was hysterical and had tears running down my face. You know when something silly strikes you as the funniest thing ever? I laughed about that for the rest of the day.

The second was last year at SWW, Assajj Ventress was amazing. Absolutely terrifying. My son wanted nothing to do with her (she's a double whammy of face character but scary face character), but his dad waited in line too see her. When it. Was his turn, he pointed out my son. My son hid his face against me, she left her meet and greet area, snuck up behind my son and whispered in his ear. HE FREAKED OUT (which again set me off laughing because I'm apparently a horrible mother).

I love hearing everyone's stories!

I have so many, i could be here all day! Here's a few favorites:
1. Meeting the Tremaines, i was wearing a magnetic frying pan necklace and Anastasia ran me all over the place trying to find something it would stick to! She also kept trying to bargain for part of my hat, i saw them walking past me the next day and they remembered me too, stopping to ask what i'd been up to after i left them the previous day!
2. Meeting Doug and Russell, i had a Goofy soft toy which Russell tried to steal. Then Russell tried to dance with me, but i think neither of us knew who was leading, so it just ended up being really awkward and ended with me dipping him!
3. More a good luck day i had with characters, but getting to meet Rapunzel with Flynn and Wendy darling on the same day! Rapunzel and Flynn were so perfect, and it melted my heart watching them spend all this time with the little girl in front of my who was scared of flynn, they spent so much time trying to get her to feel comfortable! When it was my turn Rapunzel twirled with me and asked me all about my dress, and i got big hugs from both of them! Then 15 minutes later i got to meet Wendy, who i'd been wanting to meet for the longest time! I completely freaked out! She was so sweet and talked to me about sewing and Peter and Neverland, i couldn't believe how lucky i was this day!

For those that visit Disneyland, any good memories of the Mad Hatter?

Yes! So many! He's so much fun! I think my favorite though was one of the first times i met him as an adult, i was wearing a hat and unbirthday girl button, he came right up to me, looked at my button and exclaimed 'you're my friend' then told Alice she'd been replaced and let me walk along holding his arm for a bit! I saw him a few times in little shows throughout the day and every time he did something to acknowledged me, one show he came and stood next to me for a while watching the show with me, another one he came and pointed at me while he was singing the unbirthday song, and later in the day he came and sat down next to me for a while, asking me what i was going to do for the rest of the day since i'd just been following him around :p He made that whole day so incredibly amazing!

There are so many, it is hard to choose.

One of DH and my favorite memories is the first time DD met Mickey and gang. It was 2010, and she was 18 months old. We were at the Character Spot in Epcot (before they changed it) and you would do all of the big five in a row. Of course, the first wait was pretty lengthy, and she was so confused why we were just standing there. About half way through the line, DD finally noticed Mickey at the head of the line. From that point on, she wanted us to put her down so she could go to him. When we finally got to the front of the line, and the previous guest was done, we put her down. She made a Bee line for Mickey, who squatted down to her level. About two feet in front of Mickey, DD turned around, and backed up to sit on his leg. She was in love with the big five from that point, and repeated the backing up to sit on their leg with each and every one of the big five.

DD second trip was to DLR when she was 3 1/2. We had reservations at Ariels Grotto, and Ariel was her favorite princess at this time (pre-frozen). My brother and his wife were meeting us after our lunch, and DD was unhappy she had to be there instead of playing with her cousins. When we went down stairs, and she saw Ariel, she refused to go to her and pose for a picture. So DH and I decided we would get our pictures with her, and DD could just watch. I love the PP Photographer who took our picture, as he got her in the back ground to the side, crying buckets with her hands up to her face. I almost used it as our Christmas Card Picture that year as it was just too funny.

Last one (I promise). I scored Anna and Elsa FP+ May of 2014, right after they moved to MK. She was so excited, and could barely contain herself as we waited our whole 15 minutes. Now DD (now 5) is very shy with the face characters, and usually refuses to interact with them, but this time she went up, and just kept gazing at Elsa. Anna made her laugh, but she was in awe of Elsa. When the PP Photographer asked for them to do a "Sister's Hug", DD wrapped both arms around Elsa and just held on as if she was in Heaven. She just beamed for the rest of the day after meeting her favorite Princess. It is a true pleasure as a parent to see such a look of pure joy on your child's face!

Tiana and Naveen were absolutely delightful. They chatted with my kids about all kinds of things - Maleficent at the castle show scared my daughter and Tiana sympathized, Naveen got super excited when my son told him about the cupcakes they had at dinner. They were fabulous.

My daughter got upset during Wishes. It had been a very long day for her and she got it in her head that the fireworks would fall on us. On the way out of the park I saw Tinker Bell was a walk on, so we went in there to visit her and she made her feel so much better. She sprinkled pixie dust on her to help her be brave. Tink was our hero that night.

I had a lot of great meets in October 2013 after I finished chemo and was wheelchair bound. Lots of extra attention and love. However, the best of the best was when I met Ariel. She treated me like normal for most of the visit, but then when she gave me a hug, she hugged extra tight and told me that I was still a beautiful princess. I had only a buzz of hair on my head and was still thinner than usual so hearing a princess tell me that made me tear up and to this day still makes me really emotional.
