Best Cast member moments? Share your stories

Second I'll share was from our last visit. We were eating at 1900 Park Fare and since our girls both have Celiac, there were no desserts they could have. When it was time for dessert, the chef came out with a dessert that he made from ice cream, brownies, bananas, and chocolate sauce that, I swear, was a foot high. Made their night!

One of my favorites was meeting Tiana. I made my niece a dress with Neveen as a frog on the front. The rest of the dress was made with Tiana fabric. She said that Neveen would be back later that night if we wanted to come back and get photos with him. We of course were planning to come back.

During the parade we saw them both on a float and Tiana told Neveen to look over to where my niece was. He started waving to her. We went back later that evening and got photos with both Tiana and Neveen. They spent a lot of time looking at her dress.

We're from Belgium so my youngest doesn't speak English yet.
I loved the way every cast member communicated with him but especially this lovely photographer!

He was able to make a magic shot without using words to explain!

That Disney magic...

Thank you! We love to know the names of the chefs, they are so awesome, and the ones who go above and beyond, we feel, deserve recognition. :cheer2:

He was awesome!

We decided next trip we are taking an autograph book for the chefs. We've had some great conversations with them. :)

Such a wonderful idea, we're doing this for our upcoming trip also. We did for our last trip, but being a short trip, we only actually dinned at 2 restaurants lol not as many chefs as usual.

I have a few good ones!

Our first day in the parks (EVER for my kids) in MK. We went straight for Fantasyland and Ariel. Stumbled onto a friends (don't you love how you travel 1,000 miles only to see your neighbors? ;) Rode the ride first (PB is 7.5 and not into Princesses at all but LOOOOOVVEED Ariel). And then PB saw the M&G and grabbed her trusty Ariel doll that she smuggled in her brother's stroller and planted herself in line. Ariel was SO excited to see a 'toy' of herself; she played with it and made sure to position her "like a princess" for pictures. She spent a solid 5 minutes.

Another really funny one was upon entering MNSSHP, we were dressed as the Incredibles, with my 4'9" mother dressed as Edna Mode and my 6'2" step-father as Syndrome, complete with a huge pointy orange wig (we stood out, lol). We're walking down Main Street, and a CM RUNS from the other side of the (very busy) street to stop Edna to inquire about his outfit. My mom didn't skip a beat and told him he looked FABULOUS, DAHLING, and she was so glad he wasn't wearing a silly cape. HILARIOUS.

(Ignore my husband's messed up mask. He kills me)

Lastly, and I have no pictures because it had nothing to do with me, lol. We were eating breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and the half-dozen tables next to me were occupied with a large extended family there for the matriarch's birthday. Alice AND Mad Hatter made a complete fuss of Mary Sunshine and her 93rd birthday, and it was absolutely the sweetest thing to see ever. One of the women said that the different branches of the family were scattered all over but met at WDW to celebrate her. I thought it was so nice.

On one of our trips, my "tween" daughter purchased a tiara at MK, wore it proudly all day, and then lost it when she forgot to take it off before riding Space Mountain. She was distraught, though she tried hard to keep it together. We tried to purchase another, but were told by every shop in the Kingdom that they were sold out except for the Bibbidi boutique, where they could only be purchased as part of an expensive makeover package. At this point, my kiddo lost it and burst into tears. The cast member we were talking to gave her a hug, disappeared for a minute, and returned with a tiara which she placed on my DD's head. She wouldn't let us pay for it, either. pixiedust:

On another trip, my extended family of 10 took a bus from AK to AK Lodge so we could eat at Boma. Our plan was to take the bus back to AK, and from there to catch another bus to our own resort. Sadly, by the time we finished dinner, AK had closed and buses were no longer running. As we stood on the sidewalk trying to figure out how to get all of us into taxis, or whether to take a bus via Downtown Disney, a bus driver overheard us and told us to get on. He gave us a private ride back to our (value!) resort, and gallantly kissed my mother on the hand when she gave him a thank you hug.

Life got busy and I had to take a break from Disboards... It was so much fun to come back and read all of these stories. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share! It makes me so excited for our next trip.

Our most recent magical experience was in April. It was our 3rd day of doing rope drop in a row and my girls (9, 12) were very tired and grumpy walking to the bus stop at Boardwalk hotel. We were greeted by Nico, the bus wrangler, who proceeded to crack jokes and entertain them with Disney trivia. After a few minutes their frowns turned upside down. He was just so darn endearing! Just before our bus pulled up he had the entire crowd doing a Frozen sing along. I was sorry we had to get on our bus !

Two days later we saw him again and he greeted my girls by name. Anyone watching us would have thought we were old friends from his home town. What a special cast member he is! We found Disney Magic at the bus stop !

Our first trip with my DD6 we visited Princesses. We had CRT scheduled later that day and our DD was wearing her Rapunzel dress. After meeting the princesses when we exited the CM outside the exit asked for our DD autograph.

We had heard of it happening to others, but the small gesture made our daughter gleam from ear to ear.

I have two that stick out as fantastic CM interactions...

The first was the night before our Disney wedding. We ate at Tony's Town Square and our server Bruce asked early on about the wedding. He asked if we had brought anything special along, like toasting glasses. I thought nothing of it as I replied "nope, we're just going to use the generic ones they use for weddings here!"

Here's Bruce and I:

While we ate, unbeknownst to us, Bruce sent someone up Main Street to Arribas Brothers to have these champagne flutes custom made for us, and then presented them to us as a gift at the end of dinner!!

Our second great character encounter happened on our next trip, when we were walking as a family through MK and saw Peter Pan. My niece (almost 16 at the time, but a huge kid) had just purchased a Tinkerbell costume and decided to wear it in the park for the day. When Peter Pan spotted her he was ADORABLE! He pranced around her, checking her out from all angles exclaiming "Tink! What HAPPENED? How'd you get so BIG?" etc. It was amazing to watch them interact...I wish I had a video but all we got were some great pics...

We did the Halloween party this past October and my 5 year old dressed as Jake from the Neverland Pirates.... We were watching the parade- "Boo to You" and he had his sword out acting like a true pirate.. When the pirate float came by, one of the pirates on the float spotted him jabbing at him, so he pointed to my son... Started jabbing his sword back and forth a few times and then all of a sudden grabbed himself around his neck, and fell back into the float- as if my son had won the battle.... :lovestruc

My son had a smile a mile wide and said "Mom, did you see that"?? It made my heart so happy and smile everytime I think about that special moment.

No place on earth makes you feel so special and as many magical memories as WDW!

Seriously, I shouldn't be reading this at work :rolleyes1 because I'm getting all teared up!!

I can recall a story from back when *I* was a "kid" (at almost 20). I was embarrassed then, but looking back, I really appreciate it... It was soon after MGM (now DHS) had opened, and lines were horrendously long for the Great Movie Ride (hard to picture now, I know!), it was hot, the area had little shade, and the line kept snaking past a hot dog stand t that sold sauerkraut (which I hate with a passion). Apparently, I kept holding my breath as we'd go by the hot dog stand, and between that, the heat, etc., I got sick and briefly fainted. According to my mom (and my sisters, who teased me), a handsome CM came running over, swooped me up and carried me to the shade, and got me some water, and ordered me to stay in the shade until my family had reached the inside of the GMR. He told me he was glad to be my "knight in shining armor". I was both mortified and in love at the same time!!

And another time (much later - our last trip we took about 2 years ago), we were at the MK, and I was debating weather or not to stand in line to visit Mickey Mouse with my character-loving daughter who happened to be a bit cranky at the time, when a CM saw my indecision, and said, "Follow me.", and preceded to walk me in the FP line to the very front. I got some great pictures with Mickey (although I DID feel bad for those that had waited, although the line wasn't too long.)

I just love it when CMs add that special pixie dust to the vacation!!

sorry, im a little partial to one cm. dd and myself last fathers day!!! :thumbsup2 surprise trip!!! she didn't think we were coming down for a few weeks later and surprised her at work! " DAD!!!! what are you doing here!!" :lmao:
