Best Breakfast

Well, the biggest difference (other than a la carte vs. buffet), and the deciding factor for may of us Kona Cafe supporters, is that Kona serves Tonga Toast and 'Ohana doesn't. What is Tonga Toast, you ask? Well, it's the most delicious concoction of bread, banans, cinnamon and sugar that you'll ever have! It's otherwise known as banana-stuffed french toast and it's fanTAStic. I prefer to have mine grilled, rather than fried, but most prefer the fried version.

You can ask for tonga toast at O'hana - they'll go get it!!!

NO. WAY.

Are you serious? They'll really go get it for you? Do they charge you for it or is it included as part of your one-price meal? We just may have to go there next time.

You all are great. My wife and myself have a lot of good options to try for breakfast on our next trip.

The tonga toast is a huge serving. My partner and I share it, along with the fruit plate (that fruit plate cancels out the calories in the tonga toast, right?) and it's more than enough food for us.

"fruit plate cancels out the calories in the tonga toast, right?" :rotfl: However, I think sharing the meal just might cancel out those excess calories. Also, I have been told that vacation calories do not make one gain weight. ;)

That is true! Also, as long as there is fruit in there somewhere it's good for you! Therefore, Raisinettes, Tonga Toast, heck, even apple pie are all good-for-you foods!

Oh...and if you have a diet soda it negates the calories of your meal! ;)

Our favorite breakfast that we do every trip is Boatwrights at POR. I love love love the french toast. It is made from a french baguette and is rolled in sugar. Yummy! They also have a stuffed french toast like tonga toast and the sweet potato pancakes are really delish too. I usually get a side of biscuits and gravy as well.

Other places we like are Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare. Both are buffets and offer a good variety.

The best breakfast is the one I make my wife and daughter in the room most days while at our DVC Home Away From Home.

Spending time with them and watching them enjoy the banana or blueberry pancakes is the best.

Oh and it is always a character breakfast.......... You can guess who the character is.:rotfl:

1900 Park Fair at GF; build your own omelet & strawberry soup.

and O'hana :goodvibes

Also love Kona. Not a huge fan of the Tonga toast though, maybe I should try it grilled too. Love the French Press Pot Kona Coffee. Best coffee on property & the macademia nut pineapple pancakes.

For something quick you can't beat the cinnamon rolls at MK bakery. Yum! And they're huge!
