My husband and I are going to be at WDW in Jan. He loves breakfast, so we would like to do one nice breakfast while we are there. Which WDW restaurant has the best food at a buffet or regular menu? We would like to avoid the Character breakfasts if possible, unless they have the best food at the parks or resorts. We are staying at BCV, and I have read that YC has a buffet. Has anyone eaten there?:D

YC has a buffet and a regular menu so you have the choice of either. We have had items off of the regular menu and have been very pleased.

Spoodles has a regular menu and a all you can eat breakfast platter which is huge and will be refilled if you want.

Both are very good

Even if you don't want a character breakfast, you should try Donald's Breakfastosaurus. IMHO, it is the best buffet breakfast at WDW. But I haven't eaten at so many outside of the parks. We always do Donald's on our AK day.

I would suggust Boma at the AKL. It was by far the best adult breakfast ever. I was not please with the Breakfastosaurus the last two times we were there. the food was cold and ordinary. The Boma food is unique with fresh made eggs/omelets and many meat offerings. We all really enjoyed it:jester:

My favorite is 1900 Park Fare. Even though there are characters, I believe it has the most extensive breakfast buffet I have ever seen. I highly recommend it (and it is even on the way to the Magic Kingdom)! Enjoy your trip.

I would say that I enjoyed the buffet at Maya Grill even more than Boma. Boma just was way too heavy on breakfast pizza's with lots of spices. (I LOVE Boma for dinner!) Maya Grill has great breakfast burritos on their buffet. We also have a tradition of trekking out to FW for the Trail's End buffet. Best buffet value on property. My favorite part of their breakfast, the frittata, was replaced (at least while we were there) by the--you guessed it--a breakfast pizza. Still, it's a wonderful breakfast.

For non-buffets we love Boatwright's for their Crazy Cajun French toast. Kona has something similar with their Tonga Toast.

Hi !

We try a lot of buffet and our favorite is Boma (Animal Kingdom Lodge). There is no characters. Very good quality of food, some exotic and some more conventional. The atmosphere is wonderful ! The Frunch (fruits juice) delicious and the coffee excellent !

And Animal Kingdom Lodge is a must-see resort !!!

I have to agree with the others....Boma, definately Boma. Amazing variety and selection...impeccable service. Not to be missed

I would go over to Spoodles for breakfast...it is hubby and my favorite place to have breakfast in all of wdw.

If you hubby is a big eater, they have the all you can eat platter with a fresh basket of breads and muffins...it is wonderful.

I love the breakfast pizza...so yummy. You are also able to get a mimosa or a bloody mary if you like.

I agree that you can't go wrong with breakfest at Boma's. We are going to try Spoodles for the first time in jan.

I'm with Belle5 on this--Boma and Maya grill for buffet, and Kona and Boatwrights for table service.
YC has a pretty good combination of the two--a fairly good buffet, and a full table service menu if that is what you want.

I would look at where you want to be that day and plan your breakfast accordingly. If you want an early start in a park, you might want a breakfast at the resort you are staying at or in or near that park. If it's a non park or a late start day, anywhere is great. We do like Donalds at AK and have gotten great food but it does not seem to be consistent. Next trip we plan Boma's before AK and Spoodles before Epcot. We will call the night before to get a PS. If you do decide on Donald's or any other character meal, call as far ahead as possible to assure you place and time. We will do Donald's again too as it is my DS's favorite and we hope that they will be doing the Christmas breakfast there again next December when we go.Have fun choosing.

Hi, Does anyone know how late you can make a breakfast reservation at Boma?? I was thinking of doing AK as soon as they open and then heading over to AKL for breakfast. We will have a car so transportation should not be a problem. Thanks, Joan:smooth:

Thanks for all the recommendations! Since we haven't taken the time to see AKL, we may just have to do the buffet there. I have seen pictures and it looks like it has a neat atmosphere.:bounce:

Joan,
If you wait too late to make your PS you may get a lousy time or you may be told theirs nothing available. If you really don't want to make your PS in advance and you are given bad news when you call right before--go ahead and show up anyway and they will likely work you in pretty close to when you wanted to dine there. I can't tell you how many times we've called Disney Dining last minute to be told no availablility only to show up at the restaurant and be quickly worked in. This may not work in the most peak seasons. (Christmas, etc.)

This would have been my post if Jana didn't say it first.

I did not know that. Do you remember the cost?

Here you go

Yacht Club Breakfast Buffet - All You Can Eat Breakfast Buffet: Seasonal fruits, Yogurt, assorted Danish and Muffins, Oatmeal, Cold Cereals, Bacon, Sausage, Potatoes, Scrambled Eggs, and Chef's Frittata - Adults $11.99 (includes a hot beverage); Children (3-11) $6.99 (includes juice or milk)

Boma's is great for breakfast buffet but I like YC or spoodles especially if you have someone in your party that doesn't want a buffet so you have an option.

Spoodles has a wonderful all you can eat plate for breakfast. The best I have found and reasonable cost too.
