Was Mickey Thomas with them? I love Starship! Glad you enjoyed the show.

I think it was out around the time, "Don't Pay the Ferryman" and "Goody Two Shoes" were. Those were the days.
Forgot about Chris DeBurgh or, as a "one man band" had in his song list at a bar way back when, Crista Berg. That was one of our favorite videos to watch back in 8th grade on MTV, when MTV still showed videos.

"Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do?
Subtle innuendos follow, must be something inside."

I was also a big fan of "Desperate, but not Serious" - I think that basically described my life at the time.

My mother LOVES to rib me when she hears Goody Two Shoes - "They're playing your song!"

Yeah, very funny, mum...

I always liked "Strip," too... :rolleyes1

I did, too! I think that video was the root of my obsession with men in eyeliner. :lovestruc

Geez, I keep remembering more and more...

I also loved (still do) anything by the Boomtown Rats, esp. "Up All Night" and "The Elephant's Graveyard." A couple of Bob Geldof's solo albums were pretty good, too, for that matter.

Oh, and Peter Schilling, but not just "Major Tom," though I loooooooove that song. Some other great ones of his were "Terra Titanic" and "The Different Story." :goodvibes

Just thought of another one. Not sure if it was mentioned, and I'm gonna be lazy and not look it up. :p

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said,

"I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

Can't believe I just thought of this!!! Stray Cats! Rock This Town and Stray Cat Strut

What about Simple Minds?

Don't You Forget About Me
Sanctify Yourself
Alive and Kicking

And Pink Floyd released The Wall in 1979 but it was producing radio hits well after that and then they had The Final Cut and A Momentary Lapse of Reason

Thanks to VH1 Classic this morning...as much as I can't stand him, Billlie Jean by Michael Jackson (has anyone said it yet?). Great song.

I'm ashamed to admit that I also still like Dirty Diana and Smooth Criminal.

"Hoilday" and "Material Girl" by Madonna
"Photograph"-Def Lepard
"Dreams"-Van Halen
"Groovy Kind of Love"-Phil Colins (I think that's the 80's)
"Start me Up"-Rolling Stones

That's just a few I can remember. I was the ultimate Madonna fan back then. I'm sure mine have been mentioned but those are what I could think of.

We saw them back in 2004. Are they there every year? It was pretty good until Mickey started doing Airplane era songs. That's just wrong.

And IMO the best Starship songs are Jane and Find Your Way Back.

Gawrsh... here's some that come to mind...

Sister Christian - (forgot artist  )
You Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC (my high school anthem)
Hell's Bells - AC/DC (ditto)
Heat of the Moment - Asia
You Dropped a Bomb on Me - Gap Band (I think :confused3 )
Thriller - Michael Jackson
In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel
Gloria - Laura Brannigan (definitely a "guilt pleasure")
