Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

You know Gina...

I live in the state next door and I LOVE visiting Mass... especially for weddings... with good food... :flower3::flower3::flower3:

Hi Friendies, seems like I've been MIA for a while and not sure why

Anywho, finally caught up!

:sad1::sad1::sad1:

No one's ever here when I'm posting anymore.

Oh well ... I'll share my planned ADR list with everyone ... keep in mind I can't make any reservations until Thursday and obviously can't make F&W ressies until next month. But this is my ideal! :rotfl2:

October 14th ... the un-ADR day: lunch at Beaches and Cream; dinner at Kimonos or the Kona Sushi Bar; dessert around the World Showcase.

October 15th ... breakfast in the room courtesy of Boulangerie Patissiere. Snacking around the World Showcase for second breakfast and lunch; dinner at Citricos or the F&W dinner at Flying Fish

October 16th ... breakfast at the Boardwalk Bakery and dinner at Blue Zoo ... we think.

October 17th ... breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe; F&W pairing at Tutto Italia; dinner at Narcoossee's or Flying Fish depending on how events pan out.

October 18th ... breakfast at Fresh ... late lunch snack at Sci-Fi with X & Y ... dinner at V&A!!!

October 19th ... breakfast at Koma with X&Y ... dinner at Il Mulino (for either two or four depending on how things work out). Beaches & Cream for the Kitchen Sink???

October 20th ... breakfast at Cape May ... and then hold on to the contents of your stomachs because it's Lord of the Drinks staring Bendy & Jay ... Epcot will never be the same. Lunch at Chefs for two ... how could I forget??? Dinner is likely to be us and a group of cruise friends sweeping the seas and the taps clean at the Yorkshire Fishie & Chippie place.

October 21st ... breakfast in the room ... F&W pairing in Mexico ... late dinner at Raglan Road per X&Y's request.

October 22nd ... breakfast at Boma with X&Y .... surprise dinner at CA Grill with X&Y (shhhh, don't tell them 'cause they don't know that's where we're taking them).

October 23rd .... freedom, horrible freedom ... breakfast? We dunno. Lunch? We're not sure. Dinner ... so many choices. Do we try the Alan Wong thing at the Welcome Center? Jay says no and that would only cover us for lunch (and expensive lunch at that). Do we have afternoon tea? Probably not. Dinner at Jiko? Or dinner at Bistro? I NEED HELP HERE, PEOPLE!!!

:lmao::rotfl2::laughing:

Great ideas for meals and definetly go for the Tea!

I read your car whoa's. A friend has a CRV and loves it. Me, can't get away from Mustangs but then DH is a mechanic (one of his many talents) so he keeps them running for a good long time.

And my good news, waitlist came through for BCV for October 16 - 18 :dance3:  :dance3: Now I just have to book my return airfare (hoping price comes down! )

Hmm well as for cars, I don't have a CRV, but I do have a Honda Civic and loooooove it. My brother is on his second Honda (a Fit) and it's really nice. MP3 plug in that I'm totally jealous of too. And I find Honda's service to be great for repairs and such as my car gets older.:thumbsup2

And as for the tea discussion, I drink tea every day and I'm going to experiance the Grand Floridian Tea for the first time this trip, thanks to all the drool worthy reviews I've seen. Is it true that they give you a press pot for you tea now though? :confused3 That is at least 7 kinds of wrong if it's true.

One piece of good news ... small though it may be ...

I got a call from the button place today and they're going to send me a proof tomorrow of what the button will look like and if I approve it I should have all of them by the end of next week.

:cool1::cool1:

Most of the teas do come in a press pot, although I believe certain black teas still come in the actual teapot. I was there in May, and my herbal tea came in the press pot, while my friend's...gosh, I just don't remember, but I know it was some kind of black tea...came in the teapot.

It is a bummer, because I remember when all the tea used to come in a teapot, and everyone had those cute little cozies. :thumbsup2

The tearoom has lost some of its charm with the addition of those nasty, non-polished, hardwater-stained press pots. And they do nothing to prevent loose leaf floaties.

I wants a real porcelain pot! :lmao:

Thanks everyone for the great car suggestions ... Acura is out of our price range now, more's the pity. But I'm leaning heavily towards the CRV in part because the Honda nearest our house has all day service hours on Saturday. And I used to have a Civic so I know how reliable they are and how well they hold their value.

I'm going back to Honda tomorrow night (if my car can actually make the trip back and forth to the office) to drive the CRV and I'm gonna take that baby out on the highway and punch it. That should tell me what I need to know.

Huzzah! I have cleared a space on my bagallini for it:thumbsup2

Blerg- well I'm going to ask then what teas I can get in a teapot. I use a very un-shamancy teavana infuser (perfect tea maker) and if I'm sitting in the GF I'm getting a teapot gosh darn it.

Drinkin that toilet warter again bendy??? .... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh and on the car advice...

One of my side jobs is to go and fill in for a friend of mine who has to take off (a family business) because her son has cerebral palsy... at this company (they sell high end equipment for auto body businesses...) ALL they guys work with TONS of different cars... so I picked their brains when I was looking for my car... I looked at everything and then finally asked them... their answer....

"Buy a Honda... change the oil... you can't kill it..." :thumbsup2

4 years later and except for a few MINOR recalls, knock wood... I've had to do nothing to this car.

I have an Accord EX and my mom has the Civic. Love them both... :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

And I've already decided that when the new fleet of work cars come out I'm ordering an Acura truck... (it helps to date the boss...;))

(and MY Honda dealer serves Dr. Pepper in their ultra fancy waiting room...) (what else would you expect of Saratoga Honda...:rotfl:)

AND ...

We're taking our oldest niece to see Harry Potter 6 this weekend ... Auntie Crohn turned her onto Harry a couple of years ago and when we hosted our last Harry Potter Book Release party she was there to help us host. And then she stayed up all night with her half-blind auntie reading Deathly Hallows.

Funny though ... I bawled all over the damn thing but she didn't shed a tear.

I am apparently far too sensitive for my own good. :rotfl2:

How cold hearted could you be not to cry over Deathly Hallows?!? I was crying like a baby, and still do everytime I re-read it. Hope you enjoy the movie....DH and I were just discussing how this might be the first Potter film that we won't get to see in the theater since my babysitting options are limited.

:dance3: Can't wait to see them. I'm surprised they didn't give you a hard time about copyright with the image. Very cool for us!

I feel for you on the car woes. We bit the bullet and replaced the family car last month. Me and Fred both have our own cars, but we had gotten rid of our Yukon two years ago and regretted it ever since...so now we have a lovely little Expedition in the driveway for family outings. I will say that with all the problems the car companies are having they certainly weren't too eager to make a deal. They got our money anyway in the end. My dad used to have a Nissan Altima and loved that car to pieces. He was a heavy commuter and did a lot of business travel with it too. Very comfy and no mechanical problems after 9 years. He only got rid of it because he decided to upgrade to a Maxima. Can't give any opinion on Hondas, never had one. Heard they are good mechanically which is always a plus. :thumbsup2

I got a teapot last May when I took DD for the Princess Tea.....but I think it was just plain old Earl Grey.

Good to know I'm not the only weepy one! I cried over Hedwig ... snuffled about Moody ... seriously bawled over Dobby ... and considered hiring a banshee during Harry's walk through the forest.

I love the whole series and even though I was mad mad mad to always know what was going to happen next I miss the excitement of a new release. It was such an amazing phenomenon to stand in line at a bookstore just to get a line ticket to come back and purchase a book immediately upon release. There were probably about 200 people at our Borders for the release of book 5 ... I'd say it climbed to about 600 by book 6 ... and it was so packed by book 7 that they were turning people away ... line tickets topped 1500 for the evening.

I kind of feel bad for generations to come ... they will read the story and love it, I'm sure, but will never have that same sense of urgency and mystery that we were all so lucky to experience every time a new installment was released.

I'm all nostalgiac tonight ... I wonder what's wrong with me now? :lmao:

I meant to say Heather ... it's too bad you don't live closer - we'd babysit for you!

Okay, friendies, I need some feedback. I am throwing a baby shower and am planning my menu. It's going to be at 11 a.m, so I am leaning toward brunch items....tell me what you think of the following:

Caramel French Toast Casserole
Sausage and Tomato Quiche
Three Cheese Quiche
Hashbrown Casserole
Assorted Fruit w/ a fruit dip
Assorted danishes
Croissants w/ jam and butter
Mimosas and coffee

I am debating if I need one more dish....maybe a strata that has some meat in it? Or do I have too many bread intensive dishes already?

I asked the guy point blank today about the copyright thing and he was like, "as long as you're not selling them we don't care - it's your button."

I've been very surprised by the unwillingness of some dealers to strike a deal given the way the industry has been pummeled this year. I'm also annoyed at the lack of financing options.

When we bought my passat in 2003 I financed at 1.9% ... that was on the upside of a recession when Prime was still hovering around 4.00%. So why is it today when the banks and finance companies are borrowing at close to zero they want to charge consumers between 3-5%?

I asked the sales guy at Toyota that question on Saturday and he froze and then said, "I've only been working here for two months ... please don't ask me things like that."

:rotfl2:

Here's our line up so far.

Monday, Sept 28, Grand Floridian Cafe Breakfast (I think 1000am)

Tuesday, Sept 29, The Captain's Grille Dinner

Wednesday, Sept 30, The Crystal Palace - the only place I could get around the MK area for our party size, and we're doing lunch

Thursday, Oct 1, Tea at the GF

Friday, Oct 2, Sci Fi Dine In Lunch

Saturday, Oct 3, Brown Derby Dinner

Sunday, Oct 4, Chef Mickey's Late Breakfast before we leave
Sounds Yummy! Great choices. :thumbsup2

Right now our ADRS are:
Tutto Italia
Tusker house
Ohana
Kona
Crystal Palace (MNSSHP)
leCellier
Grand Floridan Cafe (B)
I'm leaving one day open for F&W and will switch a dinner for a lunch if the dessert party for Wishes becomes an option in September. I read Jack's review on allears.net and it looks delicious. :goodvibes

Read that review-hope Disney keeps that dessert party! And a day of just leisurely walking and enjoying Food and Wine is the best, isn't it?

Brenda, I am thinking of doing the food and wine pairing in Mexico too -- that's the only one that will work out when I am there.

For your last night I would pick Jiko. Of course I've never been to Bistro and Jiko is my favorite restaurant on property so I'm slightly biased. I'll be eating there in August and October:thumbsup2

Here's my list so far:
Jiko
California Grill
The Wave
Flying Fish
Boma breakfast
Kona breakfast
Tutto lunch
Coral Reef lunch (not sure about this one but the latest lunch menu I saw sounds pretty good -- anyone have any recent experiences here?)

Oh, and we just added the dessert party at the Magic Kingdom to our August trip so I'll be there on the 19th. I'm so excited:cool1: And I think I'm going to need an extra stomach for this trip!:lmao:

Great list! That food and wine pairing in Mexico sounds interesting. And the dessert party? Can't ever go wrong with dessert!! :cool1:

It's so fun to see everyone's plans. Food and Wine, ready or not, here we come!!:dance3::banana:

For me it started when Harry entered the forest and didn't end until after the final battle. And I know what you mean about the excitement around it....for me, the Pottermania that surrounded the release of each book was almost as much fun as actually reading it. We only got to go to the release party for book 4 but it was so much fun seeing everyone in their costumes and playing the games despite all the age differences between them.

And trust me....be thankful you live a few states away....my kids may look sweet and innocent, but they are both wide open, and I take any offers I get to take them off my hands for a while. :rotfl:

What about making something like Panne Cotta to go along with the fruit? Then you'd have something sort of like a dessert. I'm just partial to panne cotta ... wish I was eating some right now.

Or instead of a strata why not have a cheese board?

Just wanted to mention my dear friend of many years loves her CRV. She has been very happy with it.
Us? We both drive a Ford Focus. We liked the price, love the reliability. A couple of the neighbors, has sort of insinuated we lack imagination. :rotfl:
When they are in the garage they look like twins.
