Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

Well, I bit the bullet and took up a local exercise place on their offer of a 12-week jazzercize / personal trainer program ($36 per month) ... I start on Monday and have to commit to three-days a week. I'll also get nutrition counseling ... :thumbsup2

I think at this point I need something to really kick-start my metabolism and I've just been unable to get motivated so far this year. It's been too easy to come home and drink alcohol laced coffee while typing reviews or playing with the wii.

Wish me luck ... I need to lose about 25 pounds by my birthday to be the hottest 40-year old Bendy I can be! :thumbsup2

$36 is a great rate! Good luck on the program, I'm sure you'll be able to lose the weight :thumbsup2 and look great too :cheer2:

Thanks for the encouragement ... I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes.

Also ... I just posted an update on the smelly thread; more F&W snacking. That will be followed by afternoon tea and then a gargantuan feast at Blue Zoo!

Good for you... and that $36 a month price tag seems very reasonable!

We have to lose weight to eat with you in Oct??? (that wasn't in my contract...:snooty: )

And Blue Zoo...     Perhaps this year... ;)

As one gets older and the metabolism slows to a crawl, daily exercise is just about the only way to lose weight and be able to eat beyond starvation level. When I'm seriously on the WW program, I do at least an hour in the gym every day and it becomes such a habit that I actually look forward to it.

Even in weeks like this past one, where I had a very rich dinner plus days of rich leftovers (and definitely went over my points), I'm only up about a pound - which is nothing for me - because I kept going to the gym. I'm one of these people who can easily be up 4 pounds after one big meal :sad2:

My son's 21st birthday dinner last week was a resounding success. I know there's a bit of eye rolling in my family because I only use Disney recipes when entertaining but they usually turn out and get raves from the guests.
My ancient digital camera won't take pictures indoors so the only one I got was of the Key Lime Pie Martini.

Cocktails were served with Tapenade, marinated mushrooms and boursin cheese.
The first course was Crab and Artichoke cakes (V & A recipe) drizzled with Chili Remoulade (Flying Fish Cafe) plus grilled goat cheese on lettuce with grapes, tomatoes etc. and a Blackberry Vinaigrette (Artist Point).
The main course (DS's request) was ribs. I used the rub from WCC and served it with Disney's Secret Sauce - a truly fabulous BBQ Sauce. Side dishes were the Spoon Bread (Cooking With Mickey Volume II) and Narcoosee's Potatoes Gratin.
For dessert I made the Cocomisu (Boma) and it was to die for. I ended up adding an extra pack of gelatin but other than that the recipe was perfect. Most of the recipes are in the Disney recipe exchange.

I'm so tempted to take a leave of absence from work and come to the Food & Wine Festival. I think a lot will depend on how our dollar does against the US dollar because right now it's horrible.

That sounds like a lovely meal ... :cloud9:

And I'm starting to understand the metabolism thing, too. It's just been within the past year that mine seems to have started to slow down ... I'm really hoping to kick it back up starting with these classes. I'd rather exercise an hour a day than give up eating the foods I've just recently begun to enjoy.

I think it would awesome if you could sneak away from work for some F&W fun ... you know there will be plenty of friendly faces there! :goodvibes

And now for something completely different ...

Jay and I have enough points leftover to offer my nephew and his wife a Beach Club studio in October for five or six nights while we're going to be there if they'd like to come along.

They're considering it but aren't sure (vacationing with Aunt Bendy is probably a little scary ... she's a bit of a control freak). So I'm talking with Grimace about it this morning and you will not believe what she said.

Wait for it ....

...

...

...

OK. She said, "Brenda, just go ahead and book the studio for the number of nights in October that you can cover with your points. If Dylan and Jen can't go for some reason then Jon and I will come instead."

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

My first instinct was to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1st instead of March 1st.

My second instinct was to ask Grimmie if she'd been drinking port before lunch.

My third instinct was to hang up the phone and pretend that we'd been disconnected.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

See what happens when I try to be nice? :lmao:

Can you just imagine the new and improved trip report? Grimace Rides Again or I AM Having Fun.

:lmao:  :scared:

Would it be mean of me to home that Grimace goes???
You're reports are great anyway, but she adds a little extra humour!:rotfl2:

I did jazzercise for a couple of years..........my kids sang hallelujah when I had to stop because of my knee.......see they set all the routines to the newest songs, and you've never seen horror untill you see the looks on kids faces when their mom busts out into a jazzercise routine in front of their friends when they're hangin out and being cool, listening to the radio.:rotfl:

:lmao: I told Jay the worst part about her coming would be all these people she's never heard of approaching her and asking for pictures.

Can you imagine her confusion when someone would actually tell her not to smile?

Excellent! I'm sure I can horrify my neices soon. The instructor I was talking with the other night said they like to play "funky" music. I asked her if she had any klutzy music since that's where my natural rhythm falls. :lmao:

You're making me feel lazy, Brenda. I swear I will get back on the treadmill after they finish the tile in the mudroom this week. I hate the treadmill; I wish it could stay outside under a tarp, getting snowing on, like it is right now.

The new wellness center opened up less than a mile from our house--maybe I should check out what classes they have. I do better with social interaction when I exercise!

Grimmie rides again!:rotfl:

Don't feel lazy until I actually do something! :lmao:

I have a feeling after tomorrow night I'm going to be whining like a baby ... but I need my butt kicked so I'll keep it to a minimum. ;)

I'll keep everyone posted on the Grimace situation ... no matter what happens it looks like our trip dynamic has changed. I'll do my best to find the funny ... :rotfl2:

Just tell her she looks like someone famous.
"Grimace rides again" :lmao:

Hey, I resemble that remark. :rotfl:

Amen sister. I'm attempting to get back to Curves.
I went twice last week.
So now I'm up to two times since the beginning of the year. :rotfl2:

I even passed up a Reese's egg to go work out.
I get bonus points for that, right?

I was lazy this morning and didn't run, instead I watched all the beautiful snow falling while lounging in bed!

Last night I made the baked ziti and it was so good and so filling.

It's called Disco... :scared:

1st class down ... I made it through the whole thing even though I have no rhythm - I am the whitest white woman you will never meet. :lmao:

Don't feel too bad tonight but I think I'm gonna be sore tomorrow. :goodvibes

I'm jealous of all you peoples who got snow ... I would have loved nothing better than being snowed in this morning. :cloud9:

I'll have you know that the Little Green Furry Butt was a Frostbitten one... (he called a snowday today... :cold: )

I'm sure you woke up sore today!

I'll take a picture of all the snow we got when I get home later today.

I dunno...my best friend still laughs about the time she looked at my foundation makeup and saw the color was alabaster. Yea, I know I'm pale. But they need to rename that color to something that sounds a little more appealing. :rotfl2:

Congrats on your first class, by the way! :)
