Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

Brenda you are such a good Aunt! I think thats one of the great things about owing DVC, you can share points with family and friends.

Bendy, could you please update me in the Meet link, we'll be staying at SSR instead of BCV.:goodvibes

Hey Kathy!! Why the switch?

Hi everyone- I just found your thread, looks like a lot of fun! Hope you don't mind me crashing your party!:goodvibes

No availability at BCV or BWV for my dates. We're actually looking forward to SSR, close to DTD!:goodvibes Welcome to our party....;)

We have RESTORATION HARDWARE ... oh wait, that's a store that sells really cool furniture.

We have HARDWARE RESTORATION!!!

No time to catch up until this weekend when I will be sure to update links and such. BUT ... the nephew and his wife will be joining us this fall for five nights of our ten night visit! We are very excited to share some WDW love with them. Could not get them anything at the Beach Club for their dates and no studios at Boardwalk, so Auntie Crohn was really nice and managed to find them a 1-bedroom at the Boardwalk.

I'm sure they'll suffer in style.

So our points are tapped until 2011 but we are thrilled that we were able to put them to such good use for others as well as ourselves this time.

We're already talking about MNSSHP and breakfast at Kona and afternoon tea and the kitchen sink at Beaches and Cream ...

I'm going to need to start taking exercise class six days per week at this rate.

I hope you are well ... sometime Saturday I should be back to update and link and respond to all the lovely people who posted about Bluezoo.

WoW! That's great! I'm so happy for you. Isn't it nice when you can share the Disney love with someone you love? I bet they will have an awesome time with you and Jay. :dance3: Plus, they will get to stay in a (rumored) newly renovated 1-bedroom BWV villa. :thumbsup2 Don't feel too bad about being tapped out on DVC points until 2011... we are too. :upsidedow So, we'll just have to make up for it in 2012! :goodvibes

Sorry I haven't posted too much on your foodie thread... but I'm here now with some food porn! :flower3: These are from Tramonto's Steak & Seafood. We went there last summer after the famous Spike & the frozen scallops episode aired on Top Chef last season. That episode had Rick Tramonto as the guest judge and it featured his signature Tomahawk steak. We just HAD to go there and have one! LOL! This restaurant is north of Chicago. I recently found out that it's changing owners and won't be Tramonto's anymore. :sad2: Here's Rick Tramonto's blog if anyone is interested... Blog It's such a shame. I'm so glad that we went when we did...

Here are the food pics from our dinner. (I know I showed you some of these, Brenda, but I thought everyone else might like to see them.)

This last dessert was mine, and it's still in the top three of all desserts I've ever had. Give me homemade marshmallows any day! Drool! We were so impressed that we booked the Sweet Sundays with Gale Gand during last year's Food & Wine Festival.

Glad I could share some of our food pics with everyone. :goodvibes

Cheers!

:rotfl2: I trained him pretty well; he's the one that wanted to take pics of his meal and post them here :thumbsup2

So glad that your hardware was restored and you're back with us :goodvibes

No availability at BCV or BWV for my dates. We're actually looking forward to SSR, close to DTD!:goodvibes Welcome to our party....;)

I am really sorry about that ... I was stunned at how quickly the availability was disappearing. When I called for Dylan & Jen there was only a studio on the 19th and the 22nd and a 1-bedroom was open for four nights (M-TH) and I was in the process of booking it when the lady at member services suddenly announced that it was gone. That's why the nephie and his wife ended up at the Boardwalk where there were no studios but there was a 1-bedroom. I didn't want to have to use all of our remaining points for that but what's a nice gesture if you can't make it really nice?

And we don't usually share our points ... too selfish! The only other time we shared was with my parents (the trip of Grimace!). I hope I don't come home from this trip in October as the newest incarnation of Grimmie. :scared1:

Back to what I was originally going to say ... Kathy, Jay and I really enjoy SSR. And while you do have to allow for more travel time since you're reliant on the buses we've found that as long as you're prepared for that in advance that it's fine. The first time we stayed there we weren't prepared and we were a little frustrated. But we like the location and think it's a lovely property ... lots of walking trails.

The photos from Tramonto's were just amazing! What a meal that must have been. We've never been to Sweet Sundays, but if Gale Gand is there during our dates, I'll make sure we go. Yum!

Just wanted to also add our Oct dates have changed. We'll be at BWI Oct 6th-Oct12th.

Michelle... INCREDIBLE pictures of your tomahawk adventure... all I can say is "Geez... why don't they make food like that around here????" :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

There's more than one of me???? :scared:

Well, I think I have found a way to justify fitting in the F&W into October and make it a true business trip... I'll sign up for the 3 1/2 day Disney Institute class the week before or after when I want to play... they'll have to pay for it then... :thumbsup2

Brenda - I'm very thankful to you guys for doing this for us, we are SO excited! We stayed at POFQ last year and saw SSR from the boat heading to DTD and we were very impressed with the resort. DH & I are go with the flow kinda folk and waiting for a bus is not going to bother us and hey, it's all about the food right? We're so close to DTD....Fulton's crab and Wolfgang's sushi....... Who wouldn't be excited!:thumbsup2

I'm so glad you're looking forward to your stay ... I really do think you'll enjoy SSR and it is nice to be so close to all those tasty DTD restaurants.

Mmmmmm, sushi! And remember to try the wildberry lemonade. :thumbsup2

And you're helping us too, so it's a win-win situation. Looking forward to meeting you both in October.

Happy weekend everyone! I posted another food porn update ... only two more to go and I'll be finished ... how unbelievable is that?

I hope you're all well! :grouphug:

Ok.. so that means you can post one in say.... JUNE... and the other in SEPTEMBER... so when we know you are going back... we can breath again... :worship: :worship: :worship:

:lmao: :rotfl2:

No no no ... I'm going to finish them within the next month or so. And then I'll have some Stinktown reviews to post on the blog over the summer and then I'll be planning and dreaming of this October.

And by the time those reviews are done we'll be ready to start a pre-cruise trippie for the 2010 Westbound Repo cruise we're booked on. You guys would be up for a trip report like that wouldn't you?

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

You know.. over on the PC repo thread they were wondering who was going and I had to break it to them that you would be briging PLANKTON with you and I'd have PLANKY on the EB... (confuse anyone yet???) that's 12 sea days and I'm hoping they're going to be the only ones turning green  on that ship!!!

(and you know.. by the time you make it onboard... little green organisms :thumbsup2 will have QUITE a reputation... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 )

We were at a dinner tonight honoring Jay's dad ... at one point he asked me where my camera was. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I only take pictures and write subsequent reviews of food / establishments that are supposed to be good. :lmao:

I told him that I didn't want to embarrass anyone since it was a banquet sponsored by a religious organization.

BUT ...

I have got to go on record here to say that it's grossly misleading and tacky to invite attendees to enjoy a cocktail hour prior to dinner and then expect them to pay for their drinks.

It's even worse when a certain couple who don't often carry cash find that without legal tender they can't get a drink because the establishment won't accept a credit card. :scared1:

I had no idea that cocktail hour could last that long ... it was interminable and excruciating. The single glass of house wine we were served with dinner was a bland, timid entry best suited for patients recovering from surgery.

Wow...your religious banquet didn't have an ATM? :confused3
