Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

Hi Friendies!

Sorry, I've been MIA for a bit. I have been checking in and enjoying the ADR talk and food porn though!

We're getting ready for our anniversary trip to Chicago :lovestruc, and I'm definitely ready for a couple days off to be a tourist. I haven't been to Chicago in about 5 years, and DH has never been. I've got a pretty packed schedule, but if anyone has any must sees/must skips - please let me know!

I'll try to bring back some foodie pics - assuming the DH doesn't get too embarrassed :rotfl:

YAY Bendy! Love the new ride :thumbsup2 I had heated & cooled seats in my Expedition, unfortunately they died almost a year ago. Dealership said it would cost about $1000 to fix it and the truck is 6 years old now so I'm not sure if it's worth sinking that much money in.....

Elin, loved the Wisdom of Wine :woohoo:

Welcome back! We missed you and are (im)patiently waiting for a food review of the whole trip. You can skip tonight's pizza.

Actually the pizza was fantastic! New pizza place and they make a very Philly/Northeast style pizza. Wonderful white pizza!

Welcome back! Only 5lbs? Amateur! :rotfl: (JK!) Can't wait to hear all about your trip.

:lmao: honestly "fine food" sounds gross now, ate way too much! but damn it was good!

Welcome back Chelle, missed you! Can't wait to hear all about it!:thumbsup2

Welcome back! We've all missed you and have passed the time by making and re-making October ADRs ad naseum.

Oh wait ... maybe I'm the only person who's been doing that. :lmao:

Glad you had a good trip ... now slap me upside the head with some food porn!

:lmao:
food porn coming up soon, but I admit I don't think we took many pics once we got on the ship.......too busy eating & drinking :guilty:

Happy Anniversary! And what a wonderful way to spend it!

Welcome back Chelle! You got home just in time for the nice cool weather here....and hardly any humidity, can you believe it!?!

Did you bring us back lots of food porn? We've been waiting patiently like good little kids....:rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl2:
The weather is shockingly cool! It was upper 90's when we were at Castaway Cay on Saturday.....good thing we got 2 for 1 Conch Coolers :yay:

Oh, good, somebody's been there! I'm glad to hear it's a nice airport. We'll be getting there about lunch time, so I had thought that would help kill some of the time. Yes, I've already been to the website to look at the restaurants! :rotfl: Thanks, Elin, I think we'll have a great time once we get there. You know how stressful it is just trying to get to the vacation part!

Of course we missed you! Welcome home! :)
I get home and you leave :confused3 hmmmm don't think I smell....
Have a great trip and make sure to take lot's of pics, I've never been to DL!

Welcome back! Can't wait to see all your food porn!:goodvibes

:flower3:

Ugh...I apologize now, I have to vent a bit.

We just got a 2am wake up from the local police at our house. Let me tell you, its just lovely waking up to our three dogs going psycho and a cop ringing our doorbell in the wee hours of the morning. Apparently some little maggot was making the rounds on our street with burglarizing people's vehicles. The neighbor caught this person rummaging through Fred's car and when confronted he took off running. The good news is nothing of ours was taken out of any of the four cars. The bad news is that the neighbor had stuff missing from their car. I feel sick to my stomach just thinking someone was going through our things and was in our vehicles. I know its small and it could have been worse, but its just very creepy. We've never had issues in our area before so I guess my sense of security is a little less now. No worries with the house-we have an alarm system...but still...just way creepy and a bit unnerving. Meanwhile, my hubby seems unfazed and has gone back to bed already. :confused3 I'm so flippy I can see I'll be up all night now. :sad2:

:hug: I'm glad you didn't lose anything and no one was hurt but it's still an awful feeling. :flower3:

They don't have a lot of info posted about it yet, Deb. All that I've seen is that it is supposed to be offered every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 3PM during the Festival - it's being held in the new cantina in the Mexican temple and is going to be led by a tequila master. Ceviche and chipparoos will be served to help wash down the booze.

$35 per person before tax.

It sounds interesting and it's been a long time since I drank straight tequila. I know I could make the 3:00 pm on Friday.

Ugh...I apologize now, I have to vent a bit.

Thats scary! I had my car broken into years ago in the driveway, they smashed a hole to climb through the hatch. I think they were looking for someone else's car because nothing was missing and my registration was on the floor :confused3

Did you miss me?

I have a lot of catching up to do! Hope everyone is well and had a great week(end)!

We got off the ship yesterday morning and drove all the way home to Charlotte. We are all thoroughly exhausted and 5 pounds heavier than when we left :rolleyes1 and the thought of a multi course fine food meal sounds  We're actually waiting on pizza to be delivered for dinner because I didn't make it to the grocery store today :guilty:

ok, gonna catch up now :goodvibes

Of course you were missed and I can't wait to hear about your cruise!

I like Ann Taylor and Loft ... I especially like Loft for things that I can wear to work and outside of work - double duty is always a good thing!:

Another Ann Taylor/Loft fan here....in fact, I am wearing tip to toe Loft today. They are both the first place I go because they are the only place I can find the makes pants that fit me properly.

Wanted to give you all an update about the trip my friend from work took to WDW last week with her husband, two young daughters, and parents.

She took my advice and made ADRs for Crystal Palace (breakfast), The Norway Princess Breakfast, 1900 Park Fare (dinner), Coral Reef (dinner), and they booked the dessert party at the MK as soon as I told her about it.

They were so happy with all their meals - the strawberry soup at Park Fare was pronounced a winner and they loved the interaction with the Cinderella characters. The girls had gone to Bibbity Bobbity earlier and were both dressed to the nines as miniature Cinderellas and that really got the wicked stepmother going.

They also really like Coral Reef ... the fish tank was the draw for the girls but my friend said that the food was surprisingly tasty.

And the dessert party at MK - she said it was terrific. The view of Spectromagic was just OK, but she said the fireworks were spectacular from where they were.

Just thought any of you headed down in the next couple of months would like to hear some good things from a guest who didn't even stay on property. :goodvibes

I was so glad to hear that they had a good time ... everything seemed to go just perfectly for them and although she said it was crowded it wasn't unbearable.

Glad to hear they had a good time.....I think I enjoy helping other people plan their trips as much as I do planning my own!

How horrible! My mother's van was broken in to when I was in high school, and I still remember how unsettling it was.

Jamie, I forgot to quote you, but have a wonderful time at DL!

And away we go....

Mediterranean Sliders Plate at Tangierine Cafe

This was so gooood! There was nothing that I didn't like about this meal, not even the price which at $13.95 I didn't think I'd like but it was worth every penny! Plenty of food to share :thumbsup2 Here is the description from allears: three pita pockets - lamb, chicken and falafel with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumber and Tahini sauce served with Lentils, Hummus and Tabouleh. I'm not normally a fan of lentils, but these were good. The hummus was excellent and the Tabouleh was :cheer2: fresh & refreshing are the only words I can think of to describe it. The lamb, chicken & falafel were all cooked perfectly. Lamb & chicken were nice & juicy, the falafel was crispy on the outside but not overdone :thumbsup2

The next night we ate at Planet Hollywood. I know a lot of people knock it, but we've had great luck here. Now, there had been a misunderstanding that afternoon with DD (reminder, she's 15 almost 16 and of course knows everything) she had a light lunch and didn't know that we had early dinner plans here (yeah, right) Words were exchanged (loudly possibly) and eventually we made it to PH for dinner. She wasn't real hungry yet so we agreed to share. DH always gets the LA Lasagna --deep fried lasagna with red & white sauce. DS12 also wanted it this time because he tried the new appy at Olive Garden recently that's almost identical. The LA Lasanga is a large serving and really really really super rich, so I knew DS would have plenty to share ;) I went with the crab cake dinner because it's (a) lighter and (b) DD had mentioned wanting to try crab cakes.

I didn't want to wait to dive into my dessert, so no pictures (but I have them from previous trips) We had our usuals; DH & DS share the Banana Split Creme Brulee and DD & I get the Double Chocolate Brownie Sundae. YUMMY!!!!!! They're both really decadent but delicious :cloud9:

After eating all that, we wandered DTD for a little bit and then went to MK where we snacked on Dole Whip floats (and Coke floats) and finished the night with hot dogs at Casey's :thumbsup2 It was 1am, so no pictures just tired hungry people who thought these were the best hot dogs ever!

OK I think I may go try those sliders while I am on the quick service dining plan for a day.

The only time I would ever go near Planet Hollywood was to walk by it on the way to the Adventurers Club so now I wouldn't go by it at all. Good to hear they're not awful though.

I'm so sorry that happened. It's such a violation and I'd be up fuming too.

Hey Everyone - I also put this on the Food and Wine info board but wanted my friends to see it also -

Hi Guys.. wanted to warn everyone who might be looking on the web like me for updates on the 2009 Epcot Food and Wine fest. I just spent 3 hours cleaning my computer of MULTIPLE Trojans from a web sight I clicked on!

Disney World Food And Wine Paring hours ago - 2009 Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival - Walt Disney . ... The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival at the Walt Disney World Resort . ...

You think that looking up something like this you would be ok but not anymore - everything is up for grabs I guess!?

Chelle, those sliders look delicious! That must be new on the menu; I will definitely have to find room to try those in Dec.

Thanks everybody for the well-wishes! We leave Thurs. morning at the butt crack of not even dawn, so I'll probably still be roaming around here some tomorrow.

Thanks ladies. We live in a small bedroom community and we really don't have a lot of crime issues so I guess that makes things even more unnerving. I'm feeling a bit better about things this morning (still a bit creeped out though).

I'm so sorry this happened to y'all.

Some day, when you guys are bored and have nothing better to do, I will tell you the tale of our wedding day and how someone at the hotel where we held our reception stole wedding gifts from us. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Do tell!!!

Unbelievable, thanks for the warning!

Have a great time, I haven't been to DL since I was very young, would love to re-live it through your pics!:thumbsup2

I have been delinquent but have enjoyed catching up on all the action. Especially all the food porn - anniversary, wedding, special occasion, no occasion. It all looked delish! ::yes::

Love the new car, Brenda!

:scared::eek::scared1: to the break-in. That is freaky!

Thanks for the virus warning- that's all I need!

Tangerine Cafe looks SO yummy!!

KeepMovingForward, I am so sorry to hear what happened in your community! My parents had something in their neighborhood recently, it's just ridiculous. And they're in a very safe area, but I guess you never know. :confused3

Guys, I'm so excited! I just scored a ressie for the first night of our trip. I've been trying for days with no luck, and tonight we managed to get Rose and Crown! :woohoo:

I just booked us for a wine tasting next month that includes a set of 4 Riedel Crystal glasses ... $50 per person for six wines and we each get to keep the glasses! :cool1:

This is the Imperial Sampler:

Guinness, Boddingtons, Bass, Stella Artois, and Harp. :thumbsup2

Pardon my language.

HOLY CRAP!!!! That's some spread of beer! :lmao:

Did you split that with your husband? I would never be able to handle that on my own. I know it's not a high alcohol content, but I am such a lightweight. :lmao:

Yep, we split it ... it was just right for the two of us. Of course it was sandwiched inbetween a lot of other drinking that day but it sure hit the spot! :thumbsup2
