beer mug package

I am unclear on the token program. Do you get one token that is just "flashed" at the bartender and then reused? Or are we supplied with a box full of tokens to use as payment for our next cold one? I plan on getting my $$ worth from the mug deal. Also, do you tip the bartenders like we do on shore, meaning a dollar or two at the time of purchase? Or is there a different method for tipping bartenders and room service delivery chaps? I assume the bartenders etc are not included in the "pre-paid" tip amounts.

Your tip, 15%, is automatically added to your bill before you sign it. If you wish to add to that amount, there is a line to add more before you sign the chit.

You will receive a token when you turn your mug in at any time during the day. If you've enjoyed the day and wish to go down for a nap - or to the spa, or gym, or whatever - give the mug to a bartender and they will give you a token. You exchange that token for a new mug the next time you're ready for a beer.

That will work splendidly, thanks.
A nap...lololol. I am in training to get used to 4 hours of sleep per night!

When purchasing the mug onboard, does the $15 charge include the beer inside the mug? I was going to pre-purchase the mug to have it in the room, but I'll wait if the mug comes "full" onboard.

My only advice is to check what beer offerings are on board before you purchase the beer mug in advance.

My husband is pretty fussy about his beer, really only likes IPA's and Guinness. He is not a Bud, Coors or Heineken guy.

Since there wasn't a lot of beer that he particularly liked, he opted not to do the beer mug package. While he drank beer sometimes, he drank an equal if not greater amount of mixed drinks or drink of the days. So, for him, the beer mug package did not seem worth it.

Nope, sorry. The $14.95 is for the mug only. Refills as noted previously vary by the type of beer in the range of $4-7 for +\- 20 ounces depending on the fill (headspace, etc.) This topic got me wondering, so I actually measured the capacity of the DCL mugs we have at home (being an anal type and having absolutely nothing to do for ten minutes), and I was kind of surprised to discover that the total brim level capacity of the mug is precisely 21 US fluid ounces, leaving exactly no room for any headspace or spillage. The actual volume of a fill I am sure will vary, but can't be much more than 18 or perhaps 19 ounces at the most. Our mugs are from April 2012. Won't stop me from doing it again, though. It's just too convenient a program for me to pass up.
