Been to an IKEA lately?

Hej!

Definitely saw a lot of empty shelves in the warehouse and it's hard to get items right now. Who knows when they'll get these items back in stock.

Plenty of cookies though!

I rope dropped Ikea last spring when we got notified the chair my daughter wanted was finally back in stock. They only got 2 and I didn't want to take any chances. All these months later, we're still waiting for notice on the ottoman and 2 different shelving units.

If you're looking for something specific, give them a call. They can give you a general idea of when they expect it back in stock sometimes.

Been trying to get a certain couch from Ikea for months now. We were getting new furniture for a room. My wife ordered two couches from them. This was about 6 months ago. One shipped after 3 months and the other is still showing as unavailable. So the waiting game continues because of "supply chain" issues. Seems like everywhere is having supply chain issues.

We have given up on Ikea and this was *pre-pandemic*... haven't been in once since ~2018. We have one about an hour away, and several times we have been there to shop and excitedly picked out furniture... only to get to the warehouse and NOTHING we picked out is actually in stock. For the life of me, I can't understand why they don't tag items in the showroom that they actually DO NOT HAVE so you know ahead of time and don't waste your time. The only things we have ever been able to buy there, are things you can actually put in your buggy while you shop, like rugs or kitchen accessories etc. But I'm frustrated with them to the point that we just don't go anymore at all.

We have an IKEA about 20 minutes away. I hardly ever go there. When the kids were away at college I picked up a few storage items there but that’s about it. I was just thinking of going there the other day to wander around.

You can look at the inventory online. It will show you if that location has it in stock. You can also try to buy online although I don't know how far their delivery radius is. They also have the option to buy online and pick up at a certain location (seems like most of those items for me in my area are at FedEx locations if they are small enough). There's this cute terrarium that is out of stock at the local Ikea but I can get it delivered either to me in about 10 or so days or to the FedEx location down the street in about half that time for this particular item.

I'm not sure it would even be realistic for them to go through the thousands of items in the actual store to say they don't have it in stock downstairs, even with looking at the inventory online someone could have purchased it before you could once you got there. Inventory of course may not be 100% accurate though I have more confidence in Ikea than I do Walmart lol.

I get the frustration though with out of stock, it's a sucky feeling

Every time I’ve been to an IKEA it reminds me of a Las Vegas casino. They make it really easy for you to enter, but darn near impossible to figure out how to get out of there.

I don't like driving an hour to get there, spending a couple hours in their maze of a store, picking out things I like and get excited about, then being told nope sorry we don't have any of that. My zip code on their web site always says either they cannot deliver to my area or the cost is insane ($200 shipping for the entertainment center we wanted... more than the cost of the entertainment center). If I sound snarky, please know I'm not aiming it at you at all. It's all towards IKEA. Lol.

As long as the food items are well stocked. Lol.
We go for the Daim chocolate. :D
Yes, I love that Daim chocolate! We decided to stop by the West Sac IKEA on our way home from a quick trip to SF last weekend. Going on a Sunday afternoon was a big mistake, it was a zoo. I think it was all the college kids getting stuff for their apartments/dorms. We only go a few times a year but like to go through the maze and look at the way they have the living spaces set up, it can be fun. I'm all about the food though. My husband checked out with the hangers and comforter I picked out so I could head across to the marketplace. The shelves were almost completely bare. Everything in the freezers gone, no swedish meatballs, lol. I started to panic thinking there would be no chocolate. I snagged one of the few Daim bags left, two big chocolate bars and a jar of lingonberry jam. I've never seen it like that, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised :confused3

Haha. So funny. That's exactly what we bought yesterday. Hangers, a comforter, and treats from the marketplace.

I went a few weeks ago and didn't see their cork screws in stock. It is the best one I've ever used. I usually buy a couple every time I go because it never fails - someone uses mine and wants one. So I keep a couple on hand to give out to friends.

Never been to one. I don't know if there is one in Atlanta, which would be closest if there were and I'm not driving a hour and half to go there.
