ok disboard budget friends. can someone tell me what cut of beef i can get at a good price and season and cook to shred? i am having a party in a few weeks and want to do tacos. i am planning to do them almost chipolte style with shredded beef, chicken (may just cook a whole small chicken and shred too), and tilapia sliced up for fish tacos. the problem is i have no idea what kind of beef to get. i saw ground beef on sale this week but it wont be the same and it cant be eaten over rice if they choose to eat it that way. the roasts i looked at last week were $25 each :scared: me thinks i can get a cheaper cut that will become tender after roasting for a few hours. can someone point me in a cheaper direction?

I normally get a chuck roast. Watch your grocery sales flyers and get the cheapest roast you can find, then cook it in the crock pot for 8 hours on low. Add in a bottle of beer and spices before you cook it, then shred with a fork when it's done. You will know its done when you can break big pieces off with a fork . super yummy and soo easy!

thank you!! i will watch sales and see what i can get. i need it for about in two weeks but have a $5 off $40 for the holidays for my grocery store, so if i have to pay full price at least i can use that. i don't have a crock pot but i sometimes cook crockpot type meals on the stove in a big pot on low for several hours or put them in the oven in a big caserole dish and it usually works.
