Becoming Lean, Mean, Endurace Event Machines in 2008

Good Morning Lean Meaners. I am FINALLY back and ready to go again. An entire day of well let's call... and the IT department forgetting my IP address and having to call me to get it. Well it did not work when I turned it on but I rebooted again and well, keep those fingers crossed.

Debra: Behind me at ToT?? This is a fun run, I would like to run it with you. We did the free ice cream and Giffords the day it opened here but it was 28 degrees and spitting snow. No pretending on the spring there. I did the elliptical and bike last night to give some miles to Cecilia so no speed work, besides some places here got 6" of rain yesterday so it was not like I was getting outside.

Dave: Pods in the pool???? Just as a side note, they do make a waterproof case so you can have your tunes in the pool. I figured that out quickly when the pool was soooooo loud I could not even hear myself breathing. I would vote to replace it with a Touch. Love the bigger screen for movies and such.

Vic: Drunk tolerance filter...:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Hmm, I don't think I was equipped with one of those. DH was a drinker in his glory days and still has his moments in the sun. Me, I am the driver who has to put up with all the silly things they do. My tactic is to incessantly tease them cuz they never remember it in the morning but man can you have some fun!! :rolleyes1 And, hey, at least you have HD which I have decided is far better than paying to attend, paying for food and well, having to put up with Joe Beer sitting next to you (and no I didn't mean DH  ).

Maria: Hang out mom. I do like that phrase. I will never be that since we have no XBox, Wii, or any of those other "fun" things here. We have fresh air, bikes, trails to hike, you know, the boring stuff.

Minnie girls: Color me jealous. WISH I was going but I am saving it all up for ToT. Have a great trip and warm up WDW for us!!

Mike: Again, my condolences to you and your family. I find it harder to be strong when the world around me crumbles too. Unfortunately, everyone expects me to be the pillar, voice of reason, etcetera and some days it is just not there. I like your system of rewarding yourself for bad workouts or missed workouts. I need to find a way to do that and stay in my calorie range.

Connie: Hello....are you back or did they keep you in OKC????? :rolleyes1

Everyone else: :flower3: I really need to get some work done. :sad2:

In my corner of the world, we are water logged to say the least. Our ponds overfloweth at my house, rivers are near cresting but still within their banks and the sun is out once again. :dance3: I am on tap for 3 miles and strength but since my schedule is messed up the weights may be put off until Friday. I will be happy to get my run in and then walk with DH during baseball practice. I am so far down 1.5 pounds from what I gained over the weekend. Funny how when you pay attention to what you are putting in, good things can happen.

I guess that is all my ramblings for now. Lucky you all, I am working until noon so you won't get rid of me too quickly. Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning guys and pretty pincesses.

Yes Vic I have a low tollerance for a lot of things these days. My couple of years on the boards have made me realize that you folks on here are pretty special. Have I told you guys how much I love y'all?

Having the opportunity to share our dreams and our daily trials makes it so very special when we get to meet. I know a lot of you so much better than I did last time we met.

Princesses, you make me laugh with your silly things that happen to you, and I cry with you when you are down. Erica and I are so proud to be your friends.

Lisa, we did the same thing last year at ToT we started in the very back with Anne and moved up from group to group visiting as we went along. It is a moving party and I can't wait to do it again.

Remember the Party at the BWV after the race. Robert, Linda, and the Canadians Kima and Mike will not be doing the race so they will have the party set up. So when you get ready just wonder on down. If anyone needs to they can bunk with one of us till morning when the busses run again. It will be about 1 or 2am anyway when we get started. Watching the sun come up now and then with people you care about is kinda special.

Ok now I'm rambeling so time to get my butt to the gym. It's 33 degrees so it's tready time again. I'm still holding at 165.

Have an awesome day y'all.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Just in case anyone is wondering...You DO NOT babysit YOUR OWN children! hmp! Ok...Story to back that up...One of my previous boss's decided one day to say that he baby sat his son the night before. I said, "no, you can't babysit your own child." He said, "well then, what would you call it?" Me, "Parenting!" lol! I actually had to look up the definition in the dictionary to show him that it says "to take charge of a child while the parents are temporarily away" (Dictionary.com) Back then I had to use the paperback Websters.

It just gets under my skin to hear someone say that. I overheard one of the guys in the office say that today and I held my tounge, but I really wanted to say something to him. Dads play as much of a role in raising a child as the mom does. IMHO anyway. Well, at least he should. Again, just my opinion. I think each parent plays a different role, but both are very important. I don't even have kids yet but I feel very strong about family and kids.

Ok..on to other things...  :dance3:   Minnie weekend is only 2 days away!!!! Yay! I work today and tomorrow and then we leave Friday morning! Yippe! I'm still hoping to get my eye2eye shirts. Mainly because I orderd some for my family members and they are really looking foward to getting them. It will be very disappointing if they do not show up in time.

Dave...So sorry about your IPOD. Is is still working or is it time for a new one???

Vic...Drunk tolerence filter! :rotfl2:

Lisa...Glad your pc is working again. Yay for being down 1.5!!! Don't be too jealous! I'll be jealous come ToT, Race for the Taste, Everest...

Deb...Yay for ice cream! I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream...:rolleyes1

I think that's all for now. I do want to say how I hate that I am going to have to wait to Marathon Weekend to meet you guys! Yes, I get to go the Minnie, but some of you are not and it would have been really great to meet you!

Stacie

Stacie we were originally planning on the Minnie weekend but when Erica's bunions were so mad about the Goofy we did in January we figured we might as well dedicate the first part of this year to her surgery and rehab. As well as me getting my dental work done and rehabing some problems of my own.

January will be very special for all of us. Warn your hubby that you will be hugged a lot. Hugging the princesses is one of life's great pleasures don't cha know.

Walking Panda:hippie:

I'll warn him Dave! :goodvibes

BTW...I don't think I answered you on the issue w/ your letters on the shirt. I really don't know what to do. My suggestion would have been to try to fix the ones that were peeling off by put wax paper on them and try to iron it back on. I'm not sure how to get them off. :confused3

I hope you get it figurered out.

There is the new eye2eye design and they will put your name on the shirt, on the front I think, not sure about the back. I've ordered a few and hope they will fit. They will supposedily do individual orders. It may be worth looking in to.

OR...If you go the Creative DISigns board, you could post a question and see if someone there has an answer for you. That's where I got my designs from. Those folks are pretty crafty!

Stacie

WWDave: Try fusible interfacing to put the letters back on (or new ones) It is double sided 'sticky' stuff and it irons on and sticks. You would get it at a Joann Fabrics, Walmart in the fabric section, etc.....

Stacie: I hope you get your shirts for the Minnie.....and have a good time!

Debra: I am recovering nicely, thank you. Still a little twinge here and there, but I am headed to the gym right now for the elliptical!

I am back on track with eating I think. It's really hard to get my head in the game right now. It's hard when you finish a goal, like my race on Sunday. Leaves me kinda hanging, you know?

I did all my errands today......lawn cutting, grocery store, laundry, now heading for the gym. Hope the rest of you lean meaners are hanging in there!

Beth

Hey Everyone!

Ok, no bike last night, but I did walk to the subway. It's something....still trying to eat better. We have shepherd's pie tonight (w/chicken breast), so at least I know that's under control.

No exercise tonight -- dh has tickets to the Celtics playoff game, so I have to do everything with ds. Sigh. Tomorrow will be better. DS has the day off from school (Ascension Day -- gotta love Catholic schools sometimes), so I'll be home with him. It's his lucky day, he gets to watch a dvd while I workout. We usually limit him to an hour a day of tv/computer time, so this is a bonus he will relish.

Stacie -- I could not agree more about babysitting your own kids! I was at a meet and greet with a soap opera star one time, and he talked about how he "babysat" his kids to help his wife out from time to time. Isn't she lucky? :rolleyes1 DH and I are not interchangeable, but unless he is sick ds is and has always been equally happy with both of us. Guess who he demands when he has a boo-boo or is a sick puppy? I admit it, that secretly pleases me...:lovestruc

Dave -- I'm already saving up for those January hugs! Hopefully there will be less of all of us to love! :rotfl: Is the ipod going to recover? I would be devastated if my little pink shuffle was no more. Do you have all the music saved in a file on your computer? I have a file called "Maria's Run" in our itunes library, so if I do have a disaster, at least I can reload it without too much distress.

Lisa -- I think we're going to break down and "stimulate" the economy with a Wii purchase, assuming we can even find one! DS is one of the few kids he knows who doesn't have one, and since even the parents are singing the praises to me, I guess we'll get one. :)

Beth -- It sounds like you really used your day well, getting all those errands done! Congratulations on your race, you should take a moment to beam with pride! :goodvibes

Vic -- I hope your run went well. I totally agree about the drunk people. I guess I'm getting old and curmudgeonly pirate:

Debra -- You mean I'm supposed to warm up and stretch every time? Sigh. Yeah, I know better, I was just not doing what I should. The ice cream sounds yummy! My favorite is Jerry Garcia -- I even like the frozen yogurt. I have it about once a year, 'cause I think one carton is a serving :rotfl2:

Shan -- :dogdance: Just sayin' Hi!

Mike -- Glad to have you back! Just reading about your workouts make me tired. YOu are doing a great job! :grouphug:

Jeanne and other Minnie People -- In case you start leaving soon, let me wish you all a wonderful time, a beautiful day, and tons of joy! :dance3:

Tracey, Bill, Connie & all the other Lean Meaners -- Hope you are having a wonderful last day of April!

Maria princess:

/
Vic: Love the description of Drunk Tolerance Filter.:rotfl2: I think mine reached its capacity around the time I started to notice my stereo COULD get too loud, that clean up after parties involved washing dishes instead of sweeping up broken beer bottles, and that sloppy pickup lines at 2 a.m. aren't cute, just pathetic. I'm so glad you had the HD alternative, with a great sound system I hope.

Lisa: I hope your IT (minus the B) issues are solved for the long-term and that you're able to stay on top of work. It really sounds like you've moved from snow to spring rain. :sad1: It's a good thing you have trails and all that fresh air to keep you looking forward to your runs. And :woohoo: for being down 1.5 pounds! what is that computer phrase? GIGO (garbage in, garbage out)? You've said goodbye to the weekend's garbage!

I also have to say, your claim that the ToT is supposed to be a fun run--and that includes my presence--was EXACTLY what I needed to hear today. I've been a little down about my progress recently, and you reminded me that I need to remember I'm enjoying the journey and who I'm (virtually) traveling with! Thank you! :flower3: I just know ToT will be an extra-special event because of everyone who will be there.

Dave: Aw, Dave, you're a pretty special person yourself (and I don't mean in that euphemistic sense :rotfl2: ). The moving party sounds like it was a lot of fun, sort of like a progressive without the alcohol. Apparently that comes later, at the BWV Party. Is there something about about the ToT that turns yinz into such night owls?? I worry that I'll just want to crash afterwards.

Stacie: But can I babysit DOOD? :rotfl2: Probably not, as I think he's the mature adult in the household. Maybe he babysits me? Seriously, that kind of language bothers me too; I don't think people realize how it sounds, but I'm fairly uncomfortable with traditional gender roles. I hope your Eye2Eye shirts come in and that they're fabulous. I wish they weren't cutting the deadline so close. You and your entire family must be so excited about the Minnie though and your fabulous shirts!

I'd love to meet you too prior to Marathon weekend; I can't make it to Minnie at this point, but it's not too late for ToT? (Sure, who needs to think about work, vacation time, budget, right?) Regardless, I think the Marathon Weekend is going to be a HUGE party. I'm trying to convince DOOD that we need to figure out a way to stay for the day after the marathon, with or without my ILs (if they come--I know they'd love you all).

Beth: Good news about your recovery--the elliptical sounds like a good choice. I think keeping to your routine--errands, laundry, lawn mowing, and the gym--will help you ease into the eating and help get back into whatever your normal life is when there's no event on the horizon. I found it difficult to get back into the swing of things after January, and am feeling a little pre-1/2 blues right now (better that than anxiety, I guess).

Maria: So DH has BB tix, DS gets extra TV time, and you get a WO? Sounds fair. ;) Maybe you can claim the Wii is for you--I'd love one, was jealous when Cam said Howard bought one. So I'd be super jealous of your Wii, which could only increase your hangout mom status. I also love Cherry Garcia ice cream, which means DOOD doesn't bring it home to the fridge. He does try his best to buy flavors that mean little to me--a very short list, even though I have no need for ice cream every day. (DOOD seems to...seriously.)

As for me: Last day of April? Where has the time gone?

Not much going on, except a little rain. We went to the gym today, where I saw two of the regulars I admire. The first woman is probably in her 50s she's in jaw-dropping shape. I mean, I tell DOOD that she has the quads he'd like to have, let alone me. Not quite Lance developed, but really muscular. She's got a great body overall, with those Linda Hamilton in T2 biceps, too.

I don't find myself really comparing myself to others in the gym--too self-centered for that, I guess--but if I had a goal body, she might be a good person to serve as my model. Maybe I should just follow her around the gym, doing what she does? :confused3 :lmao: Not that I think what she's achieved is realistic for me for me: how hard I'm willing to work, how much time I have, etc. I've got to to have a life to go with the body, you know? But geez, a girl can dream. :cloud9:

And the second woman is someone I admire just for her attitude. I was kind of cranky today about the rain, being at the gym, and a shortened WO because of schedules. But no matter how mitchy I am, just seeing her cheers me up. She's on the TM, walking and dancing to her tunes (I kid you not--she's dancing!) She's always got a huge smile on her face. She's so positive and sweet that I should feel slightly nauseated, but her attitude is also so sincere that I can't help but smile. Do you think it would be creepy to tell her that? There are some rules of gym etiquette that I'm just not sure about.

Anyway, I think I'm going to try to squeeze in more Pilates tonight--I was surprised I was feeling it in my core today. That must mean my form is better and I'm using my powerhouse! :thumbsup2

Hi Everybody!
Maria...Sleepovers:scared: They always seem like they'll be so easy and then the next day, you're completely wiped out! Good for you for walking to the subway, I love walking for a purpose. That's a great way to get your workout in.
Jeanne....Everything naked, I'm glad I'm not the only gutter thinker our there.:rotfl2:
Debra....Pooh on the landlord finding other renters! You'll find something even better. I've still been doing Pilates. I've been doing Plank on straight arms instead of my forearms. I was noticing a big difference and thought I looked pretty good until DS told me last night that I had bad form and my butt was sticking up. Stinky, insolent child. :) I saw an article at the kids dentist office w/Jillian from the Biggest Loser. She was doing plank and bringing her knee to her opposite armpit for a move called "rock climber" . Yeah, I may need to work up to that.:rotfl:
Panda...Yay, Erica's doing better. Oops about the IPod. Is is still working?
Mike....Your post beginning with good intentions and ending with chicken fried steak made me laugh. I had the same thing happen on Monday, but it involved b-day cake.:rolleyes1 That's all I'll say about that.
Shan...
Vic...My drunk tolerance filter disappeared about 4 years ago. My DH company started hiring all these kids fresh out of college and getting smashed appears to be the skills they posess.:confused3
Stacie...Our oldest was 1 week old when I gently told DH that you don't baby-sit your own children. He's never said it since. I bet you're so excited about the Minnie that you could burst. Are you all packed and ready to go? Go, girl, Go!:cheer2:
Beth...It sounds like you're doing awesome!
Everyone going to Minnie...have a wonderful time!

I went out yesterday for my 3 miler, very sluggish, I got about a mile and a half in and my DS was walking towards me. Apparently his allergies/exercise induced asthma was acting up and he was having trouble breathing. I was more than happy to walk the 1 1/2 miles back with him. At least I was moving. I'm so happy that spring is here, but man, allergies have have been really bad this year. I'll try again tonight! Have a great evening all.

50 minute swim...45 minute run...10 minute nap!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful, lean mean day...:cool2:

Good morning my sweet Lean Meaners. It is Thursday, that's almost Friday around here. DD13 has a softball game tonight right after school. Good thing my schedule is flexy or else I would be sunk. I will have time for my run then softball, straight to baseball, home, dinner, laundry, then what...oh yeah, sleep. :lmao:

Mike: How do you find time to fit it all in. You must be tri training. I have aspirations for a tri (sprint) and the Danskin was highly recommended this past weekend by 2 ladies in the hot tub but, time is such a factor in my life. And I only work 32 hours a week!! :scared1: Kudos to you for making room.

Maria: I like Tracey calling your subway trek walking with a purpose. SIL and I always say when we race for fun it is "paying to exercise". We came up with this phrase during the annual 5K named after her grandmother.

Stacie: My DH still says he babysits even though I remind him he is just watching DS. DD is pretty much self efficient and truly, she is the one babysitting (her brother and her father) as she fixes lunch, cleans up, etcetera. :sad2: I tell her that she is just watching her brother too, just so I don't have to pay her to babysit...

Dave: How is the iPod? DD washed hers once and it survived. Of course she cannot find it now but when last seen, it was working. I like my nano for running as it is lighter and the armband is smaller. It also fits in the pocket of my running skirts better. The Touch is better for movies on the TM and more fun to use. I am semi-techy, so I only use about half of its capabilities. Kind of like my cell phone....:rolleyes1

Shan: I hope you are still with us. Being banned from running stinks and I tend to put on weight feeling sorry for myself. I have read your posts on the main thread (the keeping up thing on that one is far beyond me) and I have to suggest finding a Bally's and having a great weight program made for you along with using the elliptical and/or bike to keep your cardio up. They have great yoga and pilates classes too... Whatever you decide, keep us informed. You are a great part of this thread too!!

Beth: Glad to hear you are on the mend. Keep up the good work.

Debra: The WDW half was my very first 13.1 and I am glad I did it there. I did decide part way through the course though that it is very hard to be serious and have a goal time when there are characters and so much to look at. I made my decision there that this was about fun and finishing and in that order. Anyone who runs like a Kenyan at Disney has a screw loose in my book. :upsidedow I would be happy and honored to run with you during ToT. Besides, if I run with you, I don't have to keep up with SIL/BIL who will be cranking 9 minute miles!!

As far as the role models at the gym, I think we all have them and I don't think there is any harm in telling someone that they make your day brighter. I would consider that a HUGE compliment. I have had people tell me that seeing me lift like I do makes them believe they can too. My MIL at 66 is still lifting (heavier than me most of the time) and she gets comments all the time. So, if someone makes you feel better, let them know because it makes them feel better too!! :goodvibes

All Minnie goers: I WISH there was a jealous icon but you can just color me green with envy. Enjoy, enjoy :dance3: and of course think of us poor soles trudging along with our normal lives.

Everyone else: Hi, howya doin out there in cyberville???

As for me, well I told you my day in a nutshell in the first paragraph. I have a 40 minute tempo run today. My 3 miles yesterday were an average 10:08 pace so speed is progressing nicely. I have a 5K on 6/22 that I am hoping to finish in under 30 minutes at an average 9:30 pace. There appears to be one steep quick hill which they are saving for the last 75 yards (:woohoo: ..not). I also am being very careful what I eat but am still famished after my runs. Can't wait for the longer ones to come back so I can eat everything in the house. I think I need to adjust my fiber again...popcorn::

Lisa, I'm still here. Have alot going on right now, though. Thanks for asking.

Sounds like you're well on your way to rocking that goal for that 5K! :woohoo:

Good morning Meaners......a Thursday and I am at work! Usually my day off, but I get to cover for our friend Nancy (PaDisneyFan) who is on her way to the Minnie! Wishing her all the luck in the 'world'!

Debra: So, people look at you at the gym????? That is bad for me.......I must look like the grumpiest soul in the world......which I am when I am at the gym! :confused3 I don't pay much attention to anything but my miserable workout.......I hate the gym! I am sure the lady in question would be flattered at the compliment!

To all those 'Minnnie' racers.....have a ball!

Big Vic: So you didn't get to see the race live???? That's a bummer.....I hope you didn't pay for the tickets! JR looked so good through the whole thing, of course till the end. He finished better than I thought he would.

WWDave: How's the iPod?????? I would just cry if I lost mine to the murky depths of the pool! :scared1:

Shan: I hope things are getting better for you. I hate when LTO.

As for me.....I put in some extra time yesterday, so I could donate some time and miles to Cecilia. It was good for me to get back into the game! I wore my Garmin to cut the grass for an accurate account of time and miles! I never realized that cutting the grass gives me an extra 1.5 miles and 60 min of time. I went to the gym then for another 60 min and 6.5 miles on the elliptical. I was glad that I could donate 1/2 of that to Cecilia, and still have some to post for myself! I will try for more today....I will be running and maybe I fit in a quick bike ride too!

Eating went ok yesterday, but missed lunch. That always spells diaster for me in the evening! Luckily though, I had a b-ball game to watch and I stayed away from the snack bar! It was all good, but eating dinner late isn't helpful either! :scared1:

I hope all our Minnie runners/walkers are ready and will have a great time!

Beth

Lisa : "...was highly recommended this past weekend by 2 ladies in the hot tub..." :worship: Thats been my goal for a long time...:lmao:

Beth: My lawn could use some work, too ;) Nice job!

To all the Minnie attendees!!!! Be safe, stick to your race day plan...

Mike's Place Not much going on here, still have a two hour ride to fit in...crashed yesterday at 19:00, didn't move until 06:30...could have slept longer but...the 4 yr old was kicking me in a full bladder which could have been a disaster :lmao:

Lisa : "...was highly recommended this past weekend by 2 ladies in the hot tub..." :worship: Thats been my goal for a long time...:lmao:
Oh, my!!!!:rotfl: Those are some mighty high aspirations!
Debra...I say tell the gal at the gym that she makes you smile. It'll put a smile on her face. People who are happy like to know that they are rubbing off on others.:)
Hi everybody! Sounds like we're all doing well and getting to spend time outside. Life is crazy busy around here. It seems like the schools try to pack it all in, in the final weeks of school. It's one activity after another. I love it, it's just hard to make it all fit, ya know? Stay healthy and strong all and Grey's Anatomy is on tonight. Yay!:cheer2: Is anyone else a fan?

Biked 33.1 miles in 1:52:00...I cheated by 8 minutes on the schedule, but made up for it with a 10 minute brick...not too shabby, 17.7 mph average on a windy, intentionally hilly route...

REI trip tonight after dinner, then swim lesson...then 0500 50 minute swim, 45 minute run...

Then happy Friday!!!!

I'd give my well wishes to all the Minnie contingency, but I'm too jealous to do so. :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Tracey: I have to say, plank is not my best friend. More like a vegetable--I know it's good for me. I don't know if I would ever be motivated to work on it if it weren't for people like you, Lisa, Dave, and Amy to spur (egg?) me on.

I was sorry to hear about DS's allergies/asthma, unless it was the same "stinky, insolent child" (hah!) aforementioned. If so, he got what he deserved--even though I'm sure he was just looking out for your best interests. I do hope you get some good runs in over the next couple of days.

You know, I always wondered about the flurry of end-of-the-year activities at schools. Are they trying to plant extra-special memories so that students will want to return in the fall? I always loved going back to school, but our culture really tells kids that school isn't "fun."

Mike: It looks like you've had a couple of good training days. And I'm always impressed by people who can do a quick nap; speaks to strength of character & focus, I think. I'm usually down for way too long, and it takes me forever to relax enough to nap. It really didn't help me with my LRs for the Goofy. Of course, those long sleeps, without the kicking and the full bladder, just make me jealous! I've been meaning to ask you: what, if any, Disney events will we see you at?

Lisa: You would kick booty in a tri, and really dig it, I think--if you could fit it into your schedule. Still...I don't know. I just don't see how you could squeeze in swimming time the way you do the running--you can't exactly swim to meet your DH for lunch or anything.

I would like to run with you, too, if you don't feel I would hold you back. GREAT job on the runs, the pace, and the plan, btw!! :thumbsup2 I certainly want to maximize my fun at ToT--and your presence would go a long way in that direction. And I'd be happy to serve as the "beard" for you for your BIL/SIL: "Oh, I'm sorry, I can't run with you--my tortoise friend Debra needs her shell kicked to the finish line!" :rotfl: I don't run with anyone now, not even DOOD. Love him, but he's not patient with me in this one way. (I'm hoping there'll be a WISHer around his pace, maybe a little faster, to keep him interested.) Btw, my inner eye says I'm running like a Kenyan, but the pictures and my clock just don't agree with the vision! I can envision you with that long stride, though!

Shan: How's it going? Have you seen your sports masseuse yet? Got a recommended PT strategy. And what about the big question--the tuck?

Beth: I generally look grumpy, at the gym or otherwise. At the gym, I also look very flushed or as if I'm about to pass out. Real approachable. :rolleyes1 That's a great idea, wearing your Garmin while cutting grass. I would have never thought of it. And :yay: for donating miles to Cecilia. It sounds like yesterday's eating wasn't as perfect as it might have been, but it wasn't a disaster either.

Dave: Okay, now *I* have to ask about the iPod. How's it doing? Is there a new iBaby planned in your future.

As for me: Thanks for all your input--I AM going to tell my happy gym-mate how happy she makes me. :goodvibes I don't know why I worry how it's going to be perceived.

I managed 1/2 my core work this morning and had planned to do more tonight--I don't know, though. My head hurts, my eyes are watering and my nose is running, and I ache; I think it's my springtime cold. Maybe I'll just crawl into bed early with a good book if the first few minutes don't pan out. The good thing about my annual sniffles is that I also lose the desire to eat junk food--any food really--and just want to enjoy my non-alcoholic liquid diet in peace.

Good morning Lean Meaners. I know Stacie is off for Minnie so she will be missing but who's accounting for Vic, Bill, et all?

Bill: How goes the wagon train? I know it was supposed to depart soon. You got some territory to cover what with the US and Canada both.....

Dave: You are cranking on the workouts. I read on one of the threads (I get so confused  ) that you were walking a 10:34 mpm pace? Hello, when Pandas walk as fast as princesses run, said princess needs to kick the booty in gear!!! :lmao:

Debra: Hold me back???? Hold me back???? Heck, I was just looking for some fun not an all out run. I have a half on 10/4 and then a 5K on 10/12 so I am going to be barely out of recovery period by the time ToT rolls around. Besides, you are not that much slower than me. :yay: Maybe DOOD can run with my SIL/BIL at their 9 mpm pace or will that hold him back??? The tri thing will probably be in 2010, post Goofy if I work up my courage...

Tracey: The plank is not my friend either. I have carpal tunnel and it makes my hands fall asleep. Of course so does biking, pushups, snowmobiling, etcetera. I try to do side planks but I am still not very flexy so that is where my problems ensue. Also, the mountain climbers I do on a stability ball. There is another one with the plank on the floor where you do the mountain climber but bring opposite elbow to that knee. It is brutal. Something to look forward to though...:upsidedow

Mike: I think my DH (Mike too BTW) has been searching for the same approval as you for years. :rolleyes1

Beth: I hope you are doing well.

Shan: You too. Have you found another activity you don't despise yet. I have to put it that way because I love to run and everything else is just second best.

From the Great North Woods: Having said how much I love to run, yesterday, I did not feel like running. Okay everyone get back in your seats now. It was cold, blustery and generally overcast and yucky. I ran in that yesterday and was cold. Sooooo, I hopped on my bike and struck out. It then started sleeting which really T'd me off. I also decided while out that a mountain bike is great for trails but not so much on the road. You have to work way to hard to build up speed. My quads still hurt today. I got a good ride in though and then it was off to the softball game where I proceeded to freeze while watching DD's team get massacred, off to baseball practice where I walked with DH (thankfully so I could warm up). I had dinner in the oven and we had a nice sensible meal albeit late for us.

I think my eating is out of whack with eating times changed and such. I am still carrying a little extra weight and it is annoying me now. Next week is a new week I keep telling myself. I am waiting for that wagon to come by so I can hop on. Time to ramp it up I guess. :rolleyes1

Have an awesome day all and may the positive eating force be with you (and me too apparently!!).

Yee Haw!

Ok, everybody, hop on the wagon 'cause it's headed your way -- see that hand reaching down from the back? That's our trusty Lean Mean Brigade, ready to pull you up and head off to WDW. I think I see Minnie waving in the distance! Or is it a bellhop? No, it's definitely Belle, waving from the top of Cinderella's castle (must have rented DVC points from Cindy).

Let's Go!

Princess, Darlin, I'm doing faster walking now, but even if I'm closing in our your speed you look way better doing it than I do. You are grace and beauty, I'm the bear crashing through the forest.

Debra, I have an extra iPod so I'm using it right now. The other one is on the charger right now, it hasn't responded yet. I gave it CPR and kept it warm and quiet so it wouldn't go into shock.

I have been having a hard time finding time to post with my longer workouts but I still think about y'all. I was wondering yesterday while doing my miles on the hills if everyone was feeling stronger now with all the positive vibes that are there.
