Vic: I missed saying goodbye to you, so WELCOME BACK! I'm willing to bet you had a fantastic weekend! Those cars sure don't seem to make a lot of forward progress, though, even though they're moving fast.
Mike: I'm so sorry for all that you're going through, work of course, but more importantly your loss. I'm glad you'll be with family & loved ones for your uncle's funeral, and please know that my thoughts are with you.
Dave: Thanks for being the voice of reason with the stretching--I know I'm more conscientious about doing it because I have the Panda's voice of wisdom in my head. And

for settling into your stable, final weight-loss weight; that's great news on inches, too! How did your appoinment go? Erica's? Are you both doing what the doctors say?
I can't help you with the peeling-off letters, either. I don't craft, I jerry rig!
Stacie: Those shirts are so cool--you've very talented. And with the Minnie coming up--not to mention that anniversary--yes, LIFE is good!

You must be getting so excited, with the Minnie being this unbearably close!
Lisa: Bad toady, bad toady!

Seriously, when did you have time for a WO that would have been anything other than more stress than it was worth? That was a pretty packed schedule. I must say, I'd be pretty proud of your DD if I were you--only 13yo & doing so well in the 19-U game. I hope she's happy with her weekend, overall, and with her accomplishments; it sounds like she sets some pretty high standards for herself. (Just like someone else I know....

) P.S. I find it hard to do much of anything with the DM except tough it out, so I understand what you mean.
Add me to the list of people who, when I have to shop, love a good bargain. I'm lucky enough to have a Filene's Basement about 5 miles from where I live, next to a TJMaxx & a Marshalls.
Beth: I'm sorry to hear about your aches, not to mention your feet, but CONGRATS on the race!!! :cheer2 Everything about it sounds great (except the pain): not just your possible PR, but the smart strategizing, the final kick, the little victory with your leap-frog buddy (who shouldn't be mad...). All in all, it sounds like the kind of race we all want to run. :
Tracey: You're just a party, girl, you are!! I'm happy to hear DS did well, and I can't even imagine his times. (It takes me as long to tie a shoe as it does for him to do 400m.) And you and your PR...

Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it?
Maria: Too bad about the WOs, but it sounds like time spent with DS was delightful. You gotta take those moments when they happen, right? And another sleepover--wow. No wonder you needed a recovery day! I suspect you are the hang-out mom, which is a sign of how cool you are!

And double

for surrounding yourself with loved ones AND healthy food!
As for me: It was a too-short weekend. I completed my last LR before my 1/2--a 10 miler--on intervals, like I planned. It wasn't a stellar performance, but I "Got 'R Done" (did I get that right, Vic)?
DOOD & I then made the mistake of going to see a 3 hour performance of
King Lear that night, as it was the last night of the run. Not a good idea to sit in theatre seats for that long. I spent much of the night fidgeting and thinking how how two of the actors must have really strong quads (they were squatting/creeping/kneeling through must of the production). So yesterday & today, my legs have been a little more sore than normal. I've been taking it easy, doing some icing & massage, lots of stretching, a la Dave. I managed a SR today, on intervals again, so I'm happy about where I am today, all things considered.
As for the apartment & house hunting. Meh. Bleh. Blech. And waaaa.

We thought we had a place, another landlord-occupied apartment in a converted house, but he chose other applicants. He originally hadn't intended to rent the place to pet-owners, but then called us & had us fill out an application. Then he called back to say he rented it to someone else. All for the best, I guess, because we don't want to live some place where even the idea of pets is a cause for concern. But by then our second choice had been rented and we were lukewarm on everything else we'd seen. We're looking at more apartments this weekend, and hoping that more places in our location & price range will be available after the end of this month.
I'm really not choosy, you know. I just want a place where I can go naked (is that nekkid) every once in a while. In Jeanne's honor!
