Good early a.m. Lean Meaners. This thread really flies after I log off!!! You all come to life after noon!!
Debra: The whey powder in and with the Accelerade has helped with my leg cramps. My only other recommendation is tonic water (no gin) as it has quinine in it which is a natural remedy for leg cramps. Tastes nasty but works well.
Vic: Cool tat. I am a needle-phobic, otherwise I would probably have one by now!!
Connie: Packing, taper madness, heck I can be packed and ready to go to WDW 6 months in advance!!
My kids call that anal packing. I call it preparedness...okay, excitement. Besides, our seasons change so that you are not wearing shorts when it is time to pack for WDW anyway!!
Beth: Best of luck in your half. You will do great. I always am so unsure of myself the week before. Check with Cruella de Mom, she does the same. Did I train enough, am I injured. Oh, and what about those phantom twinges??? Love those too...not.
Everyone else: I didn't forget ya, I just get overwhelmed with the posting on this thread sometimes!!
My feeble mind just cannot keep up. I know Bill is bringing a wagon for me, which should help with the beer laps around Epcot for ToT...
In my corner, it is definitely spring and all I want to do is be outside. I did go to the gym like a good little girl and work my upper body as planned. Then my plan was to go for a run to DS baseball practice while DH took him in the car. Then walk with DH during the practice. Well that was the best laid plans of mice and men. He had to work on his dump truck as he has a job to do today and had no brakes. Well, okay, it was more important than my run that he can stop that mass in motion.
So, I took DS to his practice, without running, and was complaining to my SIL that it was Boston Marathon day and I was sans run so she grabbed my arm and we went for a 1.5 mile walk in 20 minutes. Yes, once again, pushing me to the limits. It did feel good and I did feel better afterward. So, today was XT day but it is now run day because I am a day behind. Now that the sun is out, I have to concentrate on the opposite eating issue which is that I will stay outside and not eat at all.
I am still working on that calorie/protein/fiber issue so here's hoping that it works out soon!!
HAVE A GREAT LEAN, MEAN DAY...oh and enjoy the sunny spring weather!!! You could live in Northern Maine where they still have 5 feet of snow pack!!

Not sure how I am going to do in my 1/2 marathon. I didn't get to pack breakfast and lunch yesterday since I was late getting home, but I didn't do bad at all. Eating yesterday was the best in awhile. I did pack today though......good for me!

I am really sorry that work is like that, but your phrasing.... As far as training, are you telling us that you were able to get in some really solid biking this weekend? Is Spring finally in Chicago & just in time for your hard-core training? Yay!
) I don't ever lose the desire to eat, at least when I'm healthy, but I do notice my eating patterns change during the year; during the spring/summer I tend to crave more fruits & veggies (esp. seasonal, local ones) and my protein intake suffers. I think other people go through similar things?? Your pattern seems closely linked with physical activity, I presume? Your family's lifestyle? Hey, maybe you and Stacie could train for the Danskin together (says the non-swimmer).
And you did a practice run with a bridge--cool--while doing your miles in the heat of the day--not so cool. Overall, I hope you're happy with your performance. I think you'll do fine on the Minnie, even better at the 1/2 because of experience & longer training. Heck, I'd say you've made excellent progress just figuring out you're a WR kind of participant right now. Plus, it seems like you have the training bug, with all your talk about C25K, swimming lessons, the Danskin tri.
Lots to celebrate!!

How are you all? It's hump day!
My dh is out of town, so I probably wouldn't have gotten a run in without the practice. You have to take every advantage when they come!
If I waited for him to notice my new haircut (which I got yesterday) it would have been all grown out! I have waistlength hair, but cut about 3 inches off and layered it. Looks great!
And it sounds a little like a temporary version of a Disney theme park, or at least Detroit's Greenfield Village.
I had a LTO day driving DH around as his equipment trailer is not going to take an inspection sticker and he needs a new one. His dad is going in for a total hip today so send PD our way. BTW Dave, he built the DMZ so a kindred spirit. Worry, worry worry today so I will be brief (as brief as I can).
to everyone. I am posting longer than I had intended.....
