Becky & Jason's Fairy Tale wedding 9/3/11 on Long Island - *complete*

I'VE GOT YOU ALL BEAT. I'm 31 and will be 32 on our wedding day. After a certain while, "You're too young to get married, why don't you wait" turns into "what's taking you guys so long???" You can't win. :upsidedow

Lol! I totally agree with this statement!

Geez, you can't win can you? There is no in between I guess! :confused3

HAHA... Yup. Exactly. It is a lose lose situation!!

We are not old ladies!! We are in our primes!!! :goodvibes

ADRs!

So I am at the 180 day mark! I got to make my ADRs this morning. Woke up at 6 am to do it but it was worth it because I got everything that I wanted at the times that I wanted too. :woohoo:

Here's the official list:

Sun. 9/4 Narcoossee's at 9 pm (a late dinner in order to catch Wishes from there at 10 pm!)

Mon. 9/5 Cinderella's Royal Table 6:40 pm

Tues. 9/6 Coral Reef 6:00 pm

Wed. 9/7 Kouzzina 6:30 pm

Thurs. 9/8 Sci-Fi 5:45 pm

Fri. 9/9 T-REX 6:00 pm (with plans to hopefully catch Cirque du Soleil at 9 pm)

Sat. 9/10 Les Chefs de France 12:00 pm
Akershus 7:00 pm

Sun. 9/11 Tony's Town Square 5:10 pm (an early dinner so we can hopefully get the dessert party for the evening!)

I'm excited because it all seems to work out really well. Looking at our choices I know that I'm really a big kid at heart - I really love the places with the "cool experiences" rather than the really good food (though I love that too!) Hence why we went with Sci-Fi an T-REX instead of some of the other places.

Congrats on your ADR's!!! :) I was up at 5:15 this morning... but alas, it was not to make ADR's...( curse you work, and my hour commute!!)

Are you on the regular dining plan or the deluxe? How easy would you say it is to do it online vs. calling?

Yay for the ADR's!!!
T-Rex is really neat. I don't know if you drink at all, but they had something called a cotton-tini that was really awesome! We sat in the room with the meteor showers, so it changed colors constantly. Loved it!

We are on regular dining. Since we have several meals that are 2 TS credits, we'll be paying OOP for several meals. But doing the math it worked out better that way than upgrading to Deluxe. Online was super duper easy. I've never tried calling, but I don't really like the phone or dealing with people. I much prefer machines :lmao: Anyhow, I also liked that I could play around and see what times were available easily. The whole thing took me about 15 minutes, and then I went back and added our "celebration" to each reservation so that they know it's our honeymoon :goodvibes

I love trying out new drinks, and I especially like sweet ones so that sounds awesome! I just saw a My Fair Wedding episode where they did a cottontini... I wonder if that one is anything like the one at T-REX? And Jason and I ate a Rainforest Cafe two years ago in Atlantic City and it was awesome so we're excited to try out the dinosaurs. ;)

This is what it looks like, before the "cotton" disappears! And it tastes so good!!!

Congrats on your ADRs!!! So exciting it makes it all so real!!

If you can go to Cirque du soleil you definitely should. It is awesome. We went not this Christmas but the Christmas before and it was definitely worth it!!

Yeah for ADR's! I saw that episode with the cottontini as well, I tried one at Friday's once, but I am sure it's not as good as the ones in Disney.

Woohoo for all you ADR's! They sound great. Make sure to take lots and lots of food porn! ha. ;D

And I highly recommend CottonTini! I didn't have it there.. but at other restuarants. And OMG. In LOVE! ha. =] <3

I have also had the cotton-tini at a restaurant here in L.A. It's really fun!

Dress Alterations

So my update today is a bit more on the negative side, and it's about dress alterations. When we got the dress it fit really well - a little tight, but it's a tight fitting dress anyway. Extremely comfortable once it's on, but the zipper doesn't go up perfectly. But the next biggest one was too big. So it seemed the only alterations that I would need would be the hem and the bustle. Anyway, I tried on the dress again when I was home, and... apparently my chest area grew. :scared1: I don't understand it. It still fits the same around my waist, but now there is some major cleavage going on in a not attractive way. If you look at the way that the top part of my dress is, I think it might be possible for them to close it up a little on the top by pulling the two pieces together higher up.

But my Mom is being really negative about it, saying that they won't be able to do it and they won't be able to fix my dress. She wants me to just get a new dress since this one wasn't that much to begin with, but it's my dress! I don't want a new one. So I've been kind of freaking out for the past week about this, because I don't really know what to do. I'm also wondering if there is a certain type of bra that might help contain me a bit better. Ugh. We're going to do a fitting probably when I'm home around Easter, but in the meantime I can't help but worry :sad2:

Here's a pic to refresh everyone's memories. This is from when I originally got the dress:

Hey I am sorry to hear about your dress dear. It shouldn't be too hard to alter that. I got my dress altered because there was too much cleavage exposed on my mine, all they have to do is put a modesty panel in the dress or if you want the dress to have the same effect that it does now in the cleavage area just have them add two panels one to each side like they did with mine that way you can still see clevege, but less of it. Another alternative is for them to let the dress out at the top either way that should fix your problem, just ask your seamstress about it, it shouldn't be too difficult to fix. You can even have a corset back put in and that should totally fix it and if your weight changes either way the dress should give you about two sizes each way. Sending good vibes your way dear :goodvibes Everything will be ok

Thanks. It's good to hear that it's probably easily fixable. Hopefully that will convince my mom that I don't need to get a new dress :headache:

I agree with Vicki! It should be a pretty easy fix with the right seamstress! I would inquire about some of your options and see the best fix! Maybe check Victoria's Secret or some other stores in regards to another bra? Or I would see about a corset, which would bring everything in tighter!

Assure your mom that everything will work out!! You found your dress!! It just needs a little help!!!

 Don't worry!!

I agree with the girls. I would definitely wait and see what happens. It can always be fixed! :goodvibes:

Check out Victoria's Secret and see what they have. Corsets will definitely be your best bet, as Amber suggested, because they kinda tighten it all up and can make the HUGEST difference!

Tell Mom to breathe deeply! Because it will all be okay! :thumbsup2

It will be ok!!! Just wait until it gets a little closer!! When I tried mine on it fit alot differently than I remember when I tried it on at the store. I refuse to try it on until closer to the wedding, probably a couple months before. And I'm also on the hunt for a corset. I tried victorias secret, but they didn't have any that I really wanted. I think that will probably make a difference, since when I tried it on at the store I had one on and I didn't when I tried it on at home :)

Thanks girls! I'm going to try and get to Victoria's Secret when I get a chance. Also, I don't think I ever posted a picture of the back of the dress, but here it is:

So I'm going to need a low-back bra/corset as well. The website had a few options, we'll have to see how it goes when it comes to trying them on. I hate trying to find a decent bra :scared1:

And just to add a little much needed happiness to this post:
